Anaximander Francis SteppeOn an evening such as this, it's hard to tell if I exist. Pack the car and leave this town. Who'll notice that I'm not around? I could hide out under there. I just made you say "underwear." I could leave, but I'll just stay-- all my stuff's here anyway.
Born to be, Anaximander Francis Steppe

They say I look like, Jim Parsons But I don't really see it- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - You don't know your beautiful: At 6' 6", Anaximander is a tall, slightly gangly looking man with arms and legs that are too long for his torso. His skin is pasty white and his cheeks are loosely freckled. He cuts his own hair, and the result is a style that is short and somewhat uneven. Framing his long, angular face are two pointed ears. His best feature is his eyes, which are cerulean and full of intrigue. His feet are large and stick out at strange angles; he often stumbles over them as he walks.
Anaximander dresses formally most of the time. He often wears dress pants and Oxford shirts, though sometimes if he's feeling rebellious he'll put on a pair of dark jeans. He's fond of sweater-vests as well as regular vests, and he believes rather firmly that he looks damn good in a tuxedo.
What make me unique;
Anaximander is socially awkward. He doesn’t know what to say in most social situations, and often ends up saying inappropriate things inadvertently. He doesn't understand the concept of a private life, nor does he really understand the idea of professionalism. Most of the time, Anaximander says whatever is on his mind, and he is honest to a fault. He is almost incapable of lying, or even bending the truth, under almost all situations. This can get him in trouble at times.
Anaximander can be quite silly. He has a good sense of humor, and will often do things like wrap himself in bubble wrap or douse his head in shaving cream to make other people laugh. However, once again he doesn't really understand when it's appropriate to do these things and when it would be better to behave like an adult.
Anaximander likes to talk. He has a knack for memorizing facts about a situation, and if the situation then comes up he feels like it is pertinent to explain all of those facts to the people around him. He's known for interrupting conversations to do so, and he has a hard time recognizing when he should butt out of a conversation. He's somewhat narcissistic and believes that everyone wants to hear everything he has to say. He can be rather cocky as well, and he incorrectly believes that he is a casa nova and can't comprehend people who don't want to be with him.
When in a relationship, Anaximander is actually quite affectionate. He grew up in a loving home and very close to his touchy-feely cousins, and he learned the value of a hug at an early age. As such, with his friends as well as with his lovers, Anaximander tends to be big on hugs and comfort. He is actually quite friendly if people can get past his social faux pas, and he generally means well.
Anaximander is a certified genius. He can't comprehend people who don't understand magic innately—or anything else for that matter—which actually makes him a rather inadequate teacher. He knows the material that he needs to teach, but he has a difficult time explaining it in a way that other people would understand.
Anaximander is also a creature of habit. He enjoys having a regimented schedule, and he doesn't like to go off his schedule for just about anything. Spontaneity completely freaks him out, in others as well as in himself, and he doesn't understand people who don't want to do the same things all the time.

Living the teenage dream,
Anaximander's father was the only heir to the Steppe line, as his two older sisters had ruined the bloodline by marrying beneath what Anaximander's grandparents considered minimum standards for the family. As such, Anaximander was the only one of the cousins to have a good deal of wealth—or any sort of relationship with their grandparents—and from the very beginning, this set him apart from the other children. More than that, however, Anaximander's father had tense relationships with his sisters when Anaximander was young, which made socializing between the families awkward at best. Up until Anaximander was ten years old, he only saw his cousins—or any kids, really—at Christmas time. When he did see other kids, Anaximander realized that he didn't fit in quite well with them. He tried hard, and was always pleasant and open to them, but for some reason he didn't really connect to them.
When Anaximander was ten, his grandparents died—his grandfather first of heart disease, and then his grandmother, just a few weeks later, of grief. Though the deaths were tragic, they were also life-changing for Anaximander in a positive way. With his grandparents out of the picture, his father and his aunts were finally able to settle their differences. As a result, Anaximander started going to his aunt's house during the day and hanging out with his cousins rather than going to his grandparents' house. This turned out to be good for him. His aunt was strict about her children not treating Anaximander badly, despite his social awkwardness, and Anaximander learned what it was like to socialize in large groups. His awkwardness remained, but his confidence and family connection soared, and by the time he arrived at Hogwarts he was prepared to be around other children.
Anaximander excelled in school. He was lightyears ahead of most of his peers when it came to most things, especially magical theory. Socially, on the other hand, Anaximander didn't do as well. He had few true friends in school, though if you'd asked him he would have said he was friends with just about everyone. Most of the time, Anaximander pushed himself into social situations where people didn't really want him.
Despite his scholastic achievements, Anaximander had no idea what he wanted to do when he graduated. He took a job for a while working at the café with his aunt, and when that grew old he moved on to working as an apothecary's assistant. Working was hard for Anaximander, though. He was used to having his housing and food taken care of and having plenty of free time to do his own thing. In the real world, he struggled to budget his time and his money, and he was grossly unhappy.
When he was twenty-four years old, Anaximander's aunt convinced him to apply for a position at Hogwarts. Because food and board was part of the job compensation, she thought that it would be easier for him to take care of himself there. Sure enough, Anaximander found himself to be quite happy at Hogwarts. He enjoyed teaching, even if he wasn't particularly skilled at it, and the routine of school was already a familiar one to him. In his free time, he worked on some of the potions research he'd been doing as an apothecary assistant and reconnected with his younger cousins.
When Anaximander was twenty-five, he met a woman. He loved her; unbeknownst to him, she was using him. She was just barely pregnant when she met him, and she wanted someone to take care of her child. She convinced him to consummate their relationship soon after they started dating, and when she started showing she convinced him that the baby was his. Anaximander was excited; he wanted a family. He proposed to her. She accepted. The two of them were even planning their wedding, but when the baby was born the woman ditched the child on Anaximander and ran. To this day, Anaximander doesn't know that the child isn't his.
