She stands at five feet and ten inches tall, three feet of which is her legs alone. She is more than tall for her age, which she is more than okay with, even though she does feel a bit awkward at times. She knows a lot of men are uncomfortable being shorter than a girl, but she doesn’t care much for that sort of thing. Plus, it never bothered her late husband much, as he was only an inch or two shorter than her. She weighs in around one hundred and thirty-five pounds, which is very light for her height. She works out a lot, and has a high metabolism, which accounts for the weight she maintains.
Her long brunette locks are usually swept up into a bun or in some kind of clip when she is at work; it keeps her hair off of her neck and makes it easier for her to stay cool when she gets into her normal ‘workaholic’ mode. Her beautiful hazel green eyes are penetrating and it is hard for people to look at her when she is staring them down because she makes them feel as if she can see right through them. And sometimes, she can… Her eyes always seem cold and she always seems to have a stiff face, as if she wasn’t meant to smile; she has a beautiful smile when she shows it, though she doesn’t have much call nowadays.
She’s the kind of woman who will dress comfortably and not to impress, not seeing anyone of any real importance to impress anyway. Sweats and tanks are usually her attire, unless a job calls for something a bit different. She rarely wears makeup, though she can dress herself up if she ever needed to or wanted to. Lizzie also has a tendency to carry herself as if she is better than everyone else. It isn’t that she actually thinks that she is, but she always just seems to present herself in that way. It isn’t that she wants everyone to think that she is a bitch, but you have to be ruthless if you want to survive around these parts, right?
As far as physical marking son her body, Lizzie has a few. To start, she sports a tattoo of a dragon that covers her entire back. She got it after the attack on her and her family, which left her severely scarred on her back. It was her way of covering them all up. She has more that she wishes to get, to fill in the sports missed by the tattoo she already has, but she has more than enough time to get them. She is not the piercing kind of girl and not wishing to go any further than that. She has her ears pierced, but that is the extent of the metal in her body. That doesn’t mean she is against anyone that does like piercings; they are just not for her. What make me unique;Lizzie is the type of woman that doesn’t like to play games with people, and she hates it when they play games with her. She will say what is on her mind and not really care what anyone thinks of her or what she does or says. She is carefree and loves to have a good time and really enjoys being around those who are like herself. She likes to have intellectual and interesting people around to talk to. While she is not one to ‘play the field’ as it is been called, she knows she can make a guy’s head turn if she wanted to. She will use that to her advantage if necessary, but she doesn’t flaunt herself to them like a piece of meat, like most girls do. That kind of thing just makes all women get a bad name, in her opinion anyway, and she hates it when people judge her based on what other stupid girls do.
She has the ability to be very sarcastic and witty, so don’t try to mess with her because she’s got a quick tongue and an intelligent brain to come up with something good to say back to you. She will snap at someone if it’s deserved, and usually has a retort of some kind on the tip of her tongue. She is pretty funny, or so she has been told, and she is a driven and ambitious person when it comes to her job and her life. She works hard for whatever it is that she needs or wants in her life, and will rarely rest until she gets it. She’s laid back and is also really good at giving advice. She's not really a girl sort of person, and tends to have more guy friends than girlfriends. It isn’t a big deal to her, though some may think it quite strange. She does have some girlfriends though, just not a large number of them.
She is a very short tempered and hot headed woman that does not take any kind of crap from anyone. She also does not take kindly to those who would cause any kind of problem for her or anyone close to her for no reason, and simply because they can do so. Lizzie is not the sort of woman to be smart with nor is she the type that you want to get on her bad side. She may be sweet and kind if she likes you, but watch out for her if she doesn’t. She is very quick with her tongue, and most who have seen her in such a light can attest to that, but she is even quicker with her wand and she has quite a few charms and hexes in her arsenal to leave one feeling her wrath for months after their encounter with her. This can, to an extent, give her a sense of intimidation to others.
Lizzie is a very smart witch, having made top grades as a student at Hogwarts. She studied very hard when she was in school and excelled beautifully, which helped her once she got out of Hogwarts and with becoming a very highly regarded reporter and, now, editor for the Prophet. She does like to read, and she has a very strong passion for Muggle romance novels. She reads all sorts of books though, though romance novels are her favorite kind. She is also pretty creative, and can play the violin and piano almost flawlessly. She took lessons as a child and continued to learn and master her instruments as she grew older. She took dance lessons as a child too, and still enjoys to go out with friends to dance every now and again, when she isn’t bogged down with work. She can’t draw, though she wishes she could, and the extent of her talents in that realm of the arts is stick figures.
Overall, Lizzie is a very sophisticated woman. She has been through a great deal in her lifetime, though most of it in more recent times, and always knows the right way to act in every situation she is in. It is rare that she gets flustered and falters under someone else’s gaze, but that isn’t to say it doesn’t ever happen. She has a generally cheery disposition, though can become a bitch on wheels if pushed the wrong way. But, then again, who can’t be? She likes to think she is a very accepting person when it comes to any way someone can be prejudiced. She also likes to think she does her job with as little bias as possible, though she does also do an opinion piece every issue to let her readers know what she thinks about certain things. She always prints the truth though, and is not one to write anything that can be considered slander, unless the slander is the truth. [/size] Likes;- justice

Elizabeth Sumner was born on the lover’s holiday of Valentine's Day in 1987. She would be the only daughter of Malcolm and Deborah Sumner, even though all three would want at least one other child afterwards. Unfortunately, there were some complications when Deborah had Lizzie and made it impossible for her to have another child. Always a sad moment for a young family that wants to have more than one child. But, due to the circumstances, Malcolm and Deborah made sure to be as attentive to their daughter as they possibly could. Lizzie was more than fine with that though, and she flourished with her parents’ love and devotion.
They made sure to get her the best tutors until it was time for her to go off to Hogwarts at eleven. As a pureblood witch, they couldn’t just send her to a regular Muggle school until she was old enough; because they were afraid she would either accidentally use magic around them, or say something that would rouse suspicion. It made sense to do that, and even more so once Elizabeth showed that she had the gift of sight. It had first been noticed when she was about six, when news was coming to tell Deborah that her father had died (her mother had already been dead for a couple of years) and Lizzie had said something about it before the owl physically arrived at the house.
After that, Deborah and Malcolm tried to bring it out of her, and see what else she could do, but they soon came to learn that it didn’t work that way. Lizzie didn’t get to pick and choose what she foresaw and what she didn’t; one of the downsides to being a Seer is that you couldn’t see whatever you wanted whenever you wanted. If that were the case, Lizzie would have been able to brace herself for her mother’s death when she was ten years old, or even when her father would die when she was twenty-one. She also would have been able to foresee meeting her husband and having a son with him, only for them to die a few years later.
Her special ability aside, Lizzie was a happy child that was taught as much as she could learn before it was time to go to Hogwarts and further her magical education. Her first year of school was the same year as the Battle of Hogwarts in which the castle was all but destroyed by the colossal war that raged on between the Death Eaters and anyone who was fighting to protect Hogwarts. The following year had been during the rebuilding stages and there were limited classes and such as the wizarding world worked very hard to restore balance and peace to all of its inhabitants, and also reconstruct the castle so that full magical education could resume.
By the time Lizzie graduated from Hogwarts, she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. Even though she had been a sorted Ravenclaw and was very smart, she had yet to settle on a career path. To give her at least something to do until she figured it out, Lizzie took on a job working for the Daily Prophet as a reporter, if even so that she could dabble in various things and see what sparked her interest. After a year or two there, she came to find that she had a knack for the job, though the fact that she could ‘see’ things before they happened, sometimes, didn’t hurt her job either. By the time her twentieth birthday had rolled around, Lizzie decided that she was going to stay with the Prophet and that is exactly what she did.
A couple of months after her twenty-first birthday, she received an owl while at work about an attack that claimed her father’s life. To say that she was devastated was an understatement and she had to take a few weeks off work in order to grieve properly. With both sets of grandparents already gone and her mother as well, it was hard for her to accept that se no longer had anyone else. After a couple of weeks, she finally returned to work. She poured herself into her job after that, if only to take it all off her mind because it hurt too much to think about it. That would be how she met her future husband.
Just before she turned twenty-four, she had been sent on an assignment to interview an Auror who had been directly responsible for capturing a known dark wizard. Apparently, the final showdown had come down to a battle to the death, and the Auror had won out. That man’s name was Samuel Quinn, and he was a very well-mannered and intellectual man. The interview had gone very well and it ended with him asking her out for a drink afterwards. She had accepted, if only to be nice, and found herself having a very good time with him. A week had passed before they would come into contact again, and he would ask her to dinner on a formal date.
The pair would date for two years before he asked her to marry him. The pair wed the spring after she turned twenty-six, and she would find out she was pregnant before that year would come to an end. She was happy to have a family again and neither could contain their happiness when they found out they were having a boy. After Lizzie turned twenty-seven, her son was born. They named him after Samuel, making him a junior, and everything was perfect from then on. They would have had a second child, but Samuel was busy with work and so was she, especially after she was named the new editor in chief about a year after her son was born.
Everything would be perfect for the next few years, until one fateful night when it would all, literally, go up in flames. It was the dead of the night and Lizzie, her husband and her son would be sleeping. Samuel Jr. Was only four at the time, and the entire house was set on fire by, still, unknown attackers. By the time the two adults had woken up to realize what was going on, it was too late. Their son was dead and only Lizzie managed to escape with her life before the fire consumed the house and its inhabitants. Lizzie had been taken to the hospital and treated, though the burns on her back would remain. That was where the tattoo she has on her back would come into play.
No amount of grieving would make her better from this, and Lizzie would forever become more shelled and hardened to the world and the people in it. She still has her few number of friends, but she is afraid to be near anyone because she’s afraid of losing them and having to go through all of the feelings all over again. She focuses only on her work now, and has no intention of doing anything else. She is very good at what she does, and has been doing a very good job as the editor of the Prophet since she took it over seven years ago. She till pisses off some people here and there by what she prints, but the truth is the truth and she doesn’t squander that for someone’s feelings.
