Anita was technically supposed to be at work today, but she'd taken the day off to work at home. It wasnt any good sitting at a desk on a beautiful day when she could be writing her story in the comforts of her own bed. Of course, then she'd decided she was going to get up anyway. New Years had come and past in the Wizarding World and she'd spent it in London with her family. Her brothers had been nothing short of ecstatic when they'd found out she was coming home to visit them. She'd been so busy with work before that she so rarely got the chance to see them.
Getting up out of bed, she stretched, the black tank top she'd worn to bed lifting slightly as she did to show her midriff. Like usual, she was clad in a tank top and a pair of bottoms, today white silk boxers with little black wolf paws printed on them. She'd bought them simply for the comfort. Her hair was touseled from bed. Heading to her wardrobe, she got dressed quickly and ran a brush through her long hair before heading to her tiny kitchen and grabbing a bagel. She'd promised her friend, Ben, that she'd drop by the Hogshead to see him.
Thinking absently back to their first meeting, she chuckled. It'd been so awkward meeting Ben for the first time. She'd been shy and he'd been hitting on her. In the end they'd ended up spending the night together, too drunk from drinking in London for her to make it home on her own. After that they'd become great friends. Jogging the stairs that lead to the Three Broomsticks, she waved at the bartender and left the building, heading toward the Hogshead.
Humming softly, she smiled at a few familiar people as she made her way into the bar her friend worked with and over to the counter. He was helping a few customers when she'd walked in. Grinning, she leaned on the counter and tucked her hair behind her ear, "How's my favorite bartender today?"

It was just another early morning, searching the kitchen decided on having a greasy breakfast. Ben had spent his night off in a pub, in London. Today he was suffering a nasty hang over, but that was nothing he wasn't used to. Ben stood there at the stove cooking bacon. At times it was lonely and it could use a females touch, but was the fact he had a whole draw full of female panties enough? It wasn't Ben's fault they left them, but it was a female touch. Ben smirked and shook his head slightly at his thought. He quickly snapped together a plate of food, looking at the clock. It was almost time to leave and head to work. Ben had eating quickly down pat, all he needed was to get dressed in casual jeans, his biker boots and a black t-shirt. After getting dressed he looked himself over in the mirror, smirking at his appearance. Man was he good looking. Ben thought to himself finishing up his hygiene routine.
Today Ben had a special girl coming to visit him. Russo was going to stop by, he didn't know exactly what time but he knew her to be punctual. Making his way from St. Mungo's by flu powder, to Hogsmeade he appeared in the fireplace. Ben brushed himself off getting himself across the village, to his destination. The Hogshead. Once in his working setting he put his apron on and got behind the bar. Ben did his normal bottle count and cleaning off the counters. The regulars entered the pub early, but he had no problem with early morning tips. Soon enough he was on his work flow, making different drinks, pounding one back himself. It was always the best way to kill a hangover. Ben wouldn't want to suffer a massive headache with the noise level of this bar, it was enough to drive him nuts.
Bright and early, there she was walking toward him. Ben couldn't help to smile at the beautiful journalist Anita Russo. Ben leaned forward on the bar, smirking to himself. "Well a little hung over, nothing a few drinks can solve." Ben mused as he snapped the girl together a drink, sliding it in front of her stool. This girl's drinks were on him for the most part, occasionally they'd argue and he'd make her pay but this morning he was feeling generous. Plus his boss wasn't in, so no harm no foul. "How is my favorite girl doing?" Ben asked winking on eye, sipping his own drink, while the bar was still quiet. It was nice to be around good company, it was funny how the two met actually. She was spunky, he liked that about her. A challenge was always accepted in the book of Benjamin Hayes. As she knew he was one as well, the two just had chemistry.

Russo had promised Ben she’d come and hang out at the bar on her day off, and true to her word, she’d come into the Hogshead. She saw Ben the minute she walked in, although he was awfully hard to miss. The man was very good looking, though she’d never say that to him. His ego was already bad enough – or his confidence, as he’d say. But she could admire from afar, at the very least. He was wearing his usual attire, biker boots, jeans, tshirt. A lot of guys could pull the look off, but he took the cake. Moving over to the bar counter and leaning against it, their first little exchange made her smile. Of course he was hungover. It wasn’t a surprise to her, the man spent enough time playing pool and drinking in London to make her look like a lightweight. Picking up the drink he slid her, she smiled and took a sip of it, “Mmm.. You know there are easier ways to cure your hang over than drinking and making it worse.” she commented. She didn’t know what it was about Ben that attracted her. He was a challenge to her. He flirted with her but he also challenged her to do things she normally wouldn’t have done. Like when he’d first taken her to London and they’d ended up crashing in the same bed at his place that night, drunk.
Smirking at his question, she tilted her head, “What, I’m just your favorite girl? I should be your favorite journalist after I practically sang your praise in the article I wrote about you in the Daily Prophet.” she said, teasing him. Sipping her drink, she shrugged, “I took the day off. Figured I needed a day to relax. Besides, I’d much rather irritate you today.” she said, smugly.
In the corner of the bar, she could see a few young women ogling Ben. The first of many signs that would tell both of them they wanted in her friends pants. Wasn’t the first time she’d noticed it either. It amused her, actually. Especially when – if they decided to come up to him – he flirted back. The man had no shame. Which was probably part of why she liked him. Shaking her head, she lifted her glass to her lips again before setting it down, “You know, I got offered another article on you. Apparently they think that because I’m friends with you, I should be covering everything Ben Hayes. They think doing a story on you as the “eligible bachelor” is a good plan. The hit wizard’s personal life exposed. I told them no.”
