- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -The wind blew through his hair as David flew about the Quidditch pitch. There wasn’t an official team practice or anything, but he and one of his teammates, Lily Potter, had elected to head down to the pitch for some extra practice. Not that either needed any, though not to boast, but they both enjoyed the game too much to just wait for team practices to go down to the pitch. They just had to make sure that none of the other teams were there practicing. Then again, with it being near the end of February, he doubted many would be there. Frankie might be, as he was often down at the pitch flying about. Even though he was the Ravenclaw Keeper, David has gotten into a pick-up game with him a time or two before. They were friends after all, or at least acquaintances, as far as Davey was concerned. They were also rivals on the pitch, but that never got in their way except on game day.
David’s eyes darted over to where Lily was flying, as he heard her call his name when she threw the Quaffle at him. he flew towards it, catching it with ease, and then did an about-face on his broomstick and began flying in the opposite direction. He turned and saw Lily flying on the opposite side of the pitch from him, but in his direction, and it was then that he heard it, the whistling sound of the Bludger that he had charmed to fly around them to help them learn to dodge them as they flew about them during games. Only, for this practice, there were no Beaters around to help them, so this would be more of their own skill to keep an eye on them as well as the Quaffle and the flow of the game. Naturally, when the whole team was suited up with them, it was different, but it was just the two Chasers today, and he was more than content with that.
David continued towards the goal post, but stopped short and turned to face Lily. “Comin' atcha, Lils!” he shouted as he threw the Quaffle to her. No sooner had he thrown it, the Bludger he had just dodged had come back and thwacked him right in the back, just between his shoulder blades. He groaned loudly in pain and fell forward on his broom. He gripped it tightly as the entire broom lurched forward, almost pitching him off it completely. He managed to steady himself and then pulled out his wand and pointed it at the Bludger that was coming back at him. With a quick flick of his wrist, the Bludger stopped and dropped to the ground quickly, with him slowly following suit. When he reached the ground, he fell off the side of his broomstick and groaned loudly as the pain from the impact shot through his body. It wasn’t the first time he’s been hit with a Bludger, but he hadn’t been expecting it and it hurt like hell. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -wearing quidditch uniform; crap post, but next will be better. promise

Lily had awoken today with good intentions to go have a one on one practice with David. She had always adored David from a young age, was even featured in his comic strips, to show their closeness. Through the years she was always worried about the fact he'd graduate before her, and forget about her when he became something in life. Therefore she kept it on his mind, they were going to get married someday. It was only for giggles and she had no clue of the future, she wasn't a seer after all, but she did keep a place in her heart for him. After getting into her practice uniform she made her way out of the dormitory. She caught up with David and the two made their way to the patch.
The wind blew through her wild red hair, as she pulled it back with her fingers, into a ponytail. Lily got on her broom, as David got the balls ready letting the bludgers free. She had always wondered what it was like being a beater, it must have been fun to bat the ball toward whom you didn't like. Not that Lily had many enemies, quidditch was just a competitive sport. She flew in the air looking over the patch, the quaffle tucked securely under her arm as she waited for Davey to join her in the air. "Davey." She called out tossing the quaffle to him, as she flew around, the wind whistling in her ear. She leaned toward David, and when he got her attention she caught the quaffle flying toward the hoop. She let go of the ball spinning around batting it into the hoop with the butt of her broom. She gave a dimpled smile as she turned around to see if David saw her shot.
Grey-blue eyes focused on the manic bludger. "Davey look ou..." She yelped but it was too late. She flew toward him, then landed dismounting her broom, to be by his side. "That's got to hurt." Lily said softly a concerned look on her face. She placed her finger tips over his shoulder lightly, and bit down on her bottom lip. Unfortunately she couldn't do anything about it. Getting hit with a bludger was something that happened to everyone whom played the sport, at least once. "Well that concludes our practice, and don't try to talk me out of it." [/i] [/color]Lily wasn't going to let David be injured, and play more. Even if he was the stubborn captain he should know she was just trying to make sure he recovered before the next game. Or even team practice whatever came first. Lily wanted to be captain next year, she she showed great maturity when it came to her team mates. "We can go grab you a hot pack, and take it easy. Find something else to do. You'll need to heal from that one." Lily suggested, she was only being protective and logical as she knew it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -There was no question about the fact that being hit with a Bludger hurt like a bitch. David was experiencing that yet again right now and he wished that he wasn’t. He knew that this would end the practice he and Lily were having, which bothered him. Not only did he love Quidditch and practicing with his teammates, whether one or all, he also enjoyed the time he spent with Lily both on and off the pitch and he would hate to lose the well spent time. Unfortunately, the Bludger that hit him square dead in the back had a completely different idea in mind for them and their planned afternoon.
Not long after he landed on the ground had she been by his side. He felt better already; he knew he’d never let her know that. He felt his cheeks starting to blush at the mere thought of it, but he did his best to keep the color from rising too brightly onto his face when she first spoke to him. He groaned when she said that it had to hurt, as his own way of agreeing with her without actually saying it. He was sure he didn’t need to say it since he was sure she was more than aware of how it felt to be hit with a Bludger.
She had told him their practice was done for the day and that he wouldn’t be able to talk her out of it even if he tried to. Most of the time, he’d have argued with her about that, but his back was screaming at him not to so he said nothing on the matter. She had told him that they would go get him a hot pack and then do something else since he’d need to heal from the hit he just took. “If you insist,” he said as he tried to sit up. It hurt like hell to do so, but he continued to try anyway.
He grimaced at the pain and then relaxed his body and returned back to the mossy ground. “You might have to show me how good your skills are with your wand,” he said as he cast his eyes over to where Lily was sitting, “to get me up without hurting me too much,” he added, letting her know that he could walk on his own. Back injuries were never fun, something he’s dealt with before, and he was not really looking forward to walking up to the Hospital Wing, or even up to the castle from the pitch; he knew he’d do it though, since he had to. He wasn’t a baby after all. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -wearing quidditch uniform

Lily loved these moments with David. Ever since she had been a young girl, she saw herself beside him at all times. Lily enjoyed his company, she never felt pressured, or felt she had to hide who she was. Lily Potter had been an odd ball at times, yet David never questioned her quirky theories. It seemed he allowed her to speak about what she wanted, and she'd do the same for him. When playing quidditch side by side she constantly kept eyes on him. He was a great captain, and she idled the way he made quidditch feel more fun, then work. After he got hit with the bludger she knew right then and there she wasn't going to allow him to continue. The last thing she needed was for him to be injured. Lily felt bad, she never liked to witness anyone get hurt, weather it be a game or other circumstances. She was like her grandmother in those senses, where she'd wanted to aid everyone she could. Lily was a stubborn child, so when he didn't object to her telling him practice was over she grinned. Lily was sure the healers couldn't do much about some bruising. Just as long as David didn't break anything it would be fine. She didn't like the thought of spending her entire day in the hospital wing. Being around wounded or sick people just made her sad, and she felt helpless.
Lily took out her wand and pointed it at David. "Levioso." She said clearly, the levitation charm. She watched him raise as she directed her wand to place him firmly on his feet. Lily looked around the patch and decided to use the charm to get all the balls back into the trunk. She then bent down and lifted it, carrying it to the quidditch tent before returning to David's side. "Shall we?" She asked taking his hand in her's. She started to walk toward the castle, soon arriving at the hospital wing. She cousin Victorie was on duty, and Lily requested a hit pack. When she got it she walked over to the bed David had been seated on. "Take it off, yeah." she said pulling on the sleeve to his shirt. They could spend a bit of time here, before Lily would drag David on a photo taking spree. She camera was getting dusty, and she felt inspired. She rested the hot pack on his back, and ran her fingers through his hair. "So, we haven't caught up much recently. What's new with you, working on any new comics that I should be anticipating?" she asked trying to spark a conversation.
She did love his comics and loved how she was a main character. Lily thought the way he wrote her character, she was highly admired. It made Lily giddy to think about. Also, Lily had to tell David about the boy who snagged her first kiss at the ball, and how helpless she felt. She hadn't told anyone about it, not even her female friends. Lily would never tell James or Al such a thing, the thought of how mad they'd be was simply frightening. Yet first she'd like to lead him into a regular conversation, just in case he wanted to be over protective as well. He was her male best friend after all. She liked that she could talk about anything to him. Lily chewed the inside of her cheek for a moment looking around the room, it was pretty empty which was a first. When ever she was in here was a game day though, bludgers that foul little gits.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -If there was only one thing David didn’t like about Quidditch, it was the injuries that came with it. He was no stranger to them, being a Chaser and all, but that didn’t make them hurt any less. And sustaining one during a practice, one that wasn’t even a full team practice, was a bitch and David didn’t like them. Sometimes they could just be shaken off, which were the ones that David didn’t mind half as much, while others required a trip to the Hospital Wing, like the one he was currently dealing with. That Bludger had hit him right in the back, so he hoped he didn’t have any broken bones. That wouldn’t bode well for the captain in regards to their next Quidditch match. The last thing he wanted was to be sidelined for it. That would make him less than thrilled with the whole thing.
He had tried to get up after Lily told him that they were done for the day, which he knew she would say, but he found it a bit too difficult so he told her that he hoped she was skilled enough with her wand to get him up off the ground without injuring him too much. He pulled out her wand and managed to get him off the ground and onto his feet. He groaned softly once his weight rested on his own feet once more and winced in pain as he moved his back slightly. He watched her gather the Quidditch balls and put them in their trunk before she returned it to their rightful resting place. She returned to him and asked if he was ready to go up to the Hospital Wing and he nodded. “Yes, but I am going slow,” he told her as he took her hand and they began to leave the pitch.
When they arrived at the Hospital Wing, David went over to one of the beds and eased himself onto it. His back hurt like hell and he really hoped he hadn’t broken anything. Lily came over to him with a hot pack in her hand and tugged at his shirt, telling him to take it off. He blushed slightly at the idea of her looking at his bare chest, but he knew better than to argue with her right now. He winced as he began to take off his shirt, groaning as he raised his arms up over his head. She placed the hot pack against his bare skin and he flinched at it at first, but soon got used to the temperature of it and relaxed a bit.
She then began to talk to him, asking him what was new with him and if he was working on any new comics. He knew she was trying to take his mind off the fact that he was in pain and injured and he greatly appreciated that. “I’m all right, I guess. Aside from the obvious right now, that is,” he said with a half-smile. He felt so exposed to her right now without a shirt on, but he did his best not to blush too deeply in front of her, or else she would notice. “I’ve got a couple in the works. Should have at least one done in the next day or two,” he told her. “and depending on what the nurse says, I may have plenty of time to finish them all,” he said as he winced in pain once more. “What about you? Is there anything new and exciting in the life of the amazing Lily Potter?” he asked. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -wearing quidditch uniform

Lily felt bad for David when he told her he had to go slow, and she knew he was in pain and she wished she could take it all away. It would soon fade, and he'd be alright soon enough she thought keeping to her optimistic nature. Lily grew up with two brothers, she had her share of breaks and bruises, and watched the boys go through there's as well. Albus was naturally clumsy, and James was rambunctious. The Potter trio were no strangers to the hospital wing, weather at school or home. This made her skin tougher through the years. She didn't see a scrap or bruise as something that needed attention. Yet she knew what it felt like to be hit by a bludger. One of the many quirks to being a chaser. The beaters hit them at you on purpose, it was hard to deal with at times. But someone had to do it.
After making their way into the hospital wing she had sat on his bed side waiting for him to remove his shirt. She watched and purred slightly. "Huba huba. Have we met before?" Lily mused biting her bottom lip, then winking at David. She always tossed in a flirty comment toward David, it was just like her to make him shy. Lily placed the hot pack on his skin, and hoped it didn't burn him. That was all she needed, to add to his pain she thought sarcastically. Lily figured it was best to get his mind off the pain and start a conversation. Speaking about comics, she listened to him say he was almost through with a couple of them. Lily was always the first to read them, she knew a lot of people liked his work, but Lily lacked patients and all she needed to do was bat her eyelashes and work her magic. He'd cave, hence she was always the first to see the next chapters. Lily wondered if David was going to be a cartoon artist for muggle shows some day. It seemed like something he could do, on the side. She knew he was destine to play quidditch professionally.
Lily just worried he'd forget her when he was away on those long trips. Hopefully he'd send her updated comics, and many owls. She didn't want to get herself into any kind of mood so she nodded. "I think you should be on bed rest for a couple days, despite whatever the nurse says." Lily commented giving him a stern look. She soon smiled, she couldn't keep that glare at him with those pretty eyes. Lily nodded. "I'll be looking forward to reading them Davey." She said with her dimpled smirk. David had asked her what was going on in her lift and she dreamy sighed and laid down on her stomach, resting her head on her hand. "Nothing really, you can call me amazing again, if you want though." Lily said dazed, batting her eyelashes. She snapped herself from her moment, and mentally smacked herself. "Well, I've gained myself a stalker..." Lily admitted quite bluntly. It wasn't something she could sugar coat.
Lily licked her pink lips and rolled on her side. "A Slytherin boy, I don't really remember what happened, because I tried to forget, but I remember dressing up for the masquerade ball and being dragged out... and brought to an abandoned class room...and..." Lily tried to recalled the events of that night, yet she was so scared she tried to forget about it all. "Davey I haven't told anyone this, so you have to promise you won't tell a soul." Lily whispered holding up her pinky, for a locked promise.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -David was never really good when it came to girls, especially ones that he had a crush on. He usually managed okay with Lily, but only because they were friends and usually had so much to talk about to keep his distracted from his crush on her. Now though, that they were in the hospital wing and he was taking his shirt off, her comment did very little to distract him from it. He blushed a deep shade of red and then turned his face away from her so she wouldn’t see it too much. He doubted she would miss the red in his face altogether, but he could try to hide it as best he could. “Of course we have,” he said softly, still feeling a bit embarrassed about being shirtless. David didn’t have anything to be embarrassed about though, since he has many years of playing rugby and Quidditch to give him a good physique, but that didn’t make him any less shy about being half naked in front of her.
He winced when she placed the hot pack on his bare skin, but only because of the initial shock to the temperature of it. Once he relaxed a bit more, lily asked him how he has been since they haven’t seen each other all that much lately, or at least haven’t had much of a chance to talk. He told her how he was, aside from the current situation. She asked about his comics and he told her that he had a few in the works that he’d likely get to finish soon. Lily was always one of the first people to read them when he finished, so he was sure he'd pass them along to her when he completed his current works in progress. He smiled when Lily told him that he should rest in bed for a couple of days to heal, no matter what the nurse said. “I shall do as the doctor ordered then,” he said playfully, “but then you’ll have to come check up on me,” he added, instantly feeling his cheeks grow red from such a flirtatious comment. He wasn’t sure if she’d take it that way, but that was how it sounded to him.
He had then asked her how she has been and she seemed to like the fact that he said she was amazing. “I’ll tell you as often as you want,” he told her with a grin. And he would too, if she really wanted to hear him say it. He then frowned when she told him that she had managed to gain a stalker and he furrowed his brow as he waited for her to elaborate on that a bit more. She then explained about the night of the masquerade ball and how someone had dragged her out of the dance and into an abandoned classroom. She stopped then and he found himself confused and upset by how she had stopped her story, and his eyebrows went up when she told him that she hasn’t told anyone about this and swore him to secrecy. “you have my word,” he told her with a firm nod of his head. He just hoped that she wasn’t about to tell him that she was raped or attacked in any way. He’d likely go into a rage that was rarely seen by anyone. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -wearing only half of his quidditch uniform their ship name could be either livid or daly

Lily's eyes couldn't help to wonder his upper body. She had seen James like this many times, not so much Albus because her middle brother was insecure, but certainly was no stranger to bare chested boys. It was a little different though, because even if she had been fully honest and blunt about her crush on David, she still found it impressive, and she didn't want to make herself appear easy. Lilt had been far from, she had left on to her first kiss for a very long time seeking the right boy. The boy she fell for had to be accepted by her family, this including her big brothers. Lily always thought David was that one for her, until her kiss was stolen. It didn't change the way she felt for him, and her pale blue eyes caught sight of him turning red at her words. Lily was only teasing, she didn't mean to make him embarrassed or insecure if she did. Lily knew he was build nicely, he didn't have a reason to get that way. It may just have been because of her watching him. He may have felt venerable after the injury, but she didn't inquire. Half the Hufflepuff quidditch team were boys, and in the warmer months she had scene many well sculpted, tone bodies she didn't care to. It was rare a boy made her want to look, and fan girl. Lily had high standards, where she wasn't judgmental, she just knew what she wanted in life.
Lily had always been a sweet, loving girl and she wanted the best for herself. As would anyone who knew her, because she deserved it. Lily never displayed negative traits, unless she was thinking too much about her father's death. She didn't know if that was too bad, considering she only pushed people away, because no one was there for her to help her pull through it all. Over the summer, Albus closed himself off, James did his own thing, and Ginny had her own depression. Losing a father was rough, but a lover must have devastated her mother. Lily was too kind to put her burden on anyone else. So she just reminded herself, and when she slipped up and became moody it was only fair. Everyone couldn't always have a good day. Also Lily Potter was a herbal guro, and someone who knew how to provide proper nurturing and affection.
Lily was very careful when she placed the hot pack on David's back, and she was stern when she told him he was on bed rest. David said she had to come visit him, and Lily nodded. "Of course I will. I'll grab some ice cream from the kitchen, and we'll have a nice cuddling session." Lily told him with a grin. Lily thought for a moment on his comment and gave him a charming smirk. "I almost missed that innuendo but your cheeks gave it away. Do you want me to wear the sexy nurse costume as well?" She ask, skimming her bottom lip with her front teeth. Lily didn't know how to be sexy, but she tried sometimes. It couldn't have been that hard. It was just hard to believe, Little Lily Potter, who wore her skirt down to her knees could display such a side. It was rather funny to her, causing her to giggle.
Lily loved hearing about Davey's comic books, and stories. She always kept up with each story and knew who most of the characters in the books were based off of. It was cute David made his friends part of his passion, it just proved he was a sweet and loyal boy. Lily had finally brought up the night of the dance, and she was terribly nervous when speaking on the topic. Lily hadn't told a soul, so it was probably best she let it out to someone who cared and wouldn't strangle her for it. Lily was sure her brothers would scold her for being in the situation in general. David told her she had his word, and she figured it was best to continue her story. From the class room on she had never been this scared, and this may have been why she wasn't a Gryffindor like her parents. Lily looked around to make sure she was in the clear, and she moved closer to David so she could speak quietly. "I was never so scared in my life. The boy he asked me "Lily what am I going to do with you?" As he held me against a wall. I felt cornered, and then what does he do? He stole my first kiss..." Lily admitted softly looking down. David knew she wanted it to be special, but the story needed to go on. "The idiot! The way he grabbed my hips, and brought a forceful nature to it all. It was just awful." Lily said shuttering a bit as the goosebumps rose on her pale skin.
"I didn't like feeling like that, and he is obsessed you should have seen that look in his eyes." Lily said, she hadn't been raped in an aspect that most would see it. She did however, know the actions were unwanted, and she put up a struggle. "I kneed him in his groin, and he deserved it. Then he started to tell me he loved me, that is when I realized I had a stalker." Lily shook her head running her fingers through her long red hair. She looked at David to see his reaction, she wad done for now.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -If David could have foreseen the flirtatious comment that escaped his lips when he told Lily that she would have to come visit him and check up on him of the doctor told him to stay in bed until he was healed, he would have never said it. It had come out much more flirtatious than he had intended, but he couldn’t change that now. He only hoped she didn’t take it the wrong way. Even though he had a crush on Lily Potter, he wasn’t about to let that loose now. He was sure that the truth of that matter would put a major strain on their friendship and that was the last think David wanted. There was also the risk of losing the friendship altogether, if it became too awkward if she didn’t reciprocate his feelings, and he wasn’t sure he’d be able to bear that either. “Ice cream is always welcomed,” he told her.
The idea of a cuddling session made his skin crawl, but not in a bad way. He’s never been close to a girl in such a way, and the idea of being close to Lily in that way made him nervous as hell. Not only did he have no idea whatsoever on how to act in such a situation, but the thought of ruining everything made it a very scary concept for the sixth year. And he knew that she was a very open and blunt girl so he was sure he’d have gotten a sign if she felt the same way. When she called him out about his comment, his face went an even brighter red color. He hadn’t meant for it to come out that way in the first place, and now she had caught on to it. He hoped she didn’t think poorly of him, but her response to him gave him a chance to breathe. “Oh, that isn’t necessary,” he said with pink cheeks. The idea of her coming into his dormitory wearing a nurse’s uniform made him think all sorts of wrong things, things he didn’t think was a good idea to think about right now.
She had then started talking about something rather cryptic and told him that she needed him to uphold a level of secrecy for what she was about to tell him. He wasn’t sure how he was supposed to fell, but he found himself in a mixture of anger and sadness for the situation. He may not know exactly what the story was at the moment, the way she was making it seem was as if he should be upset and bothered by what she was to tell him. It made him nervous and afraid because he didn’t want to hear about her feeling pain or discomfort in any way. She talked more about the experience and she told him how a boy had stolen her first kiss from her. David frowned at the thought and it made him wonder what that must have been like for her. He’s never kissed a girl before so he didn’t understand the specialty of the first kiss, nor did guys genuinely get into it as much as girls usually did. Plus, he had known that Lily wanted that to be special, since she wasn’t the sort to just go around and kiss anyone. David didn’t like this story.
“I can’t even imagine,” he said softly when she said she didn’t like the feeling the unknown boy had given her when he stole her first kiss. “Not sure I’d want to, to be honest,” he said when she told him that he should have seen the look in the guy’s eyes when she encountered him. He didn’t see the need to disguise his distaste for the situation she was painting for him. He wished he’d have been there, though he wasn’t sure what assistance he’d be able to offer. “he doesn’t seem like a good person regardless,” he said after she told him that the guy told her that he loved her and that was when she realized she had a stalker. “It also makes me want to say that you may need a constant companion for a little while, so that you’re never alone and susceptible to harm,” he said in a concerned tone. “Maybe you’ll have to stay with me for a while so you don’t find yourself in a bad situation,” he told her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -wearing only half of his quidditch uniform

It felt nice to get that off her chest, she loved how she could tell David anything, and knew he wouldn't judge her. Lily couldn't tell her brothers. She knew they'd demand to know who it was, and as scary as it was, she didn't want anyone to get hurt. Lily was too sweet for that, sure she lost her first kiss, but that was bound to happen someday. She did have a stalker, but James wasn't the only one who could have been placed in Gryffindor for bravery. Lily could handle her own, her brothers just seemed to amplify everything, and fuel the fire. Lily wished to be placed in Hufflepuff. She met David on the train to Hogwarts and found out his house, and she also knew she was an odd ball. Not that all Huffles were odd, she just didn't want to follow her parents. Albus was Slytherin, and she knew that suited him well, weather he wanted to see it or not. James was certainly an arrogant, proud Gryffindor in Lily opinion. She asked the hot to be placed in Hufflepuff, because she knew it was her calling. Gryffindor was her set house, but being determine, loyal and a hard worker made her Hufflepuff. This girl could fight her own battles, but she didn't mind a little help along the way.
She spoke her experience to David, and she watched his reactions, she didn't really know what was on his mind, and she shuttered to ask. Lily hoped he wasn't disappointed in her for not telling an adult. David knew how stubborn Lily was, so he may have not questioned it. The daughter of Harry Potter, would eventually have a stalker, though it wasn't a good thing. Lily took everything one step at a time, she'd live and learn with time and experience she was sure of it. David told her he didn't want to see the look on the boy's face, those eery eyes that scarred her mind, vividly. "Take my word for it, total creeper." Lily said moving more on the bed so she could be comfortable. David said the boy didn't seem like a good person. Lily frowned. "Everyone is a good person somewhere deep down Davey, we all just have different things that define us." Lily corrected running her fingers through his blonde hair. She didn't like to think of the words bad, or evil. Even those who killed her father had some good in them, at least at one point. It was just her optimistic side to think so.
The room fell silent for a moment but his words caused her to blink. A constant companion to be around her? Lily didn't like the sound of that, it reminded her of a baby sitter. However when he offered to be the one to stay with her, she smirked. Lily felt her heart flutter a bit, she liked David early on, his shy nature was opposite of her out going, loudness. She knew she was attracted to his personality, but the fact he was a cutie helped. Lily moved closer and rested her head on his shoulder. "What a valid excuse to spend more time with me." Lily mused charmingly. She knew he was being serious, but she hated being serious, it was no fun. "Davey if you wanted me all to yourself, you didn't need to offer to babysit me. I rather you just tell me I'm yours, until you feel no need to be protective. But keep me anyways." Lily bit her bottom lip and batted her eye lashed in his direction. Lily was a flirt, she couldn't help it, it was that tender age. Tagged: David HarleyWords: 615 Note: Credits: Shawny!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -When Lily first told David about what happened the night of the masquerade ball and ho someone had stolen her first kiss, he felt a slight sense of pity for her. He himself has never had his first kiss, so he could only imagine what it must feel like to have it stolen from you. Unlike some of the people that dwelled in the castle, David was one who held that sort of thing in very high regard, and thought it to be special. He wasn’t looking to get as much experience as possible before he found the right girl, though he was also sure that the right girl wouldn’t be the first girl he dated or kissed. He did, however, want even that first time to be special, and with a special girl. He didn’t want the kiss for the sake of the kiss; he wanted it to mean something.
David couldn’t help but blink at her a couple of times when she told him that everyone was good in their own way, but that everyone had different things that defined them. To an extent, he knew that she was right, but even David had to believe that people were only good if they wanted to be. Sure, they may have good deep down within them, buried so deep that it is barely visible, if at all, but those who chose never to show it or act upon it were not good people. “You’re such an optimist, Lils,” he said to her with a smile. A trait he admired about her, even if he was sure that, one day, it would lead her into trouble. It was great to think the best of people, but that could easily turn around and bite you in the ass later, which could be a bad thing for some people.
David closed his eyes for a moment when Lily ran her fingers through his hair. His mother always did that and he always found it soothing to his nerves and his emotions. The way Lily did it was just as his mother did and it caused him to have a swell of emotions hit him. He opened his eyes and then told her that she might need to be with someone on a more constant basis so that this guy, whoever he was, didn’t try to kiss her, or something worse, the next time around. If he was in fact a creeper, and stalking her, as she said he was. He had even gone as far as to suggest himself, since he was sure that she wouldn’t want her brothers hanging around her all the time. And that would also mean she would have to tell them what happened, which he was sure she hadn’t done yet because she’d have told him that by now, he was sure of it.
Her initial response to that made him blush a bit, but he did his nest to recover so it didn’t become too noticeable. “Oh, I didn’t mean-” he started to say before she spoke again, causing him to stop. She was flirting with him. He could tell now, but he wasn’t sure if she was because she was trying to lighten the situation or if she was actually trying to drop those hints he had thought about not too long ago. David had to respond, he knew this, and he had to do it without letting his real emotions in regards to the beautiful redhead in front of him show. “You know I love spending time with you, Lils,” he said, his voice a bit higher than he intended. He cleared his throat before continuing. “And if in doing so it serves two purposes, then it makes it all the more worth it,” he said to her as he brought his non injured side’s hand up to rake through his hair. “And I can’t help but be protective. I care about you,” he said softly.

In regards to her secret she was glad she told David. It was just nice getting something off her chest. It was different, Lily had a bit of a crush on David, but he was also a best friend to her. David was simple and timid, and she liked that about him. She knew he'd keep her secrets forever, and knew he wouldn't mention it to anyone unless it was dangerous to her. David took it upon himself to spend time with her. She appreciated his company more then she could say. It was strange growing up she had always been a little tom boy, but even with her brothers she couldn't help to feel at odds. James lived his his own little ego, and Albus followed in suit. Lily trusted her brothers, just not with something like this. She didn't like to be trouble for her brothers, because somehow it would have been a huge deal. Weather it was James, being over pushy and over protective. Or Albus figuring out why it happened, and trying to talk the stalker boy down from what he was doing. Lily's brothers were going to act like brothers. Lily just didn't like clutter in her life, as David said she was an optimist.
Lily didn't like the thought of her first kiss being stolen but she knew it was already gone. That night she embraced it, because she'd only get one. Her reaction after was simply her to get feisty. The scene played out in her head for one moment, a kiss then a knee to his groin. Boy did she handle that Slytherin. It was silly now that she looked back, and all terrifying in the same. That didn't make the boy a bad person, it just could have meant he was mad. Lily shrugged it off, the worst didn't happen. Lily's father always taught her to be strong and brave and she always did. David had told her she needed someone to keep her company. It was true in a way, maybe it was best to stay close to someone with her father's death anniversary so close. Not that she was thinking negativity, it was just a fine fact. David told Lily he didn't mean he wanted her alone. She watched his reaction and giggled a bit. David was very shy when it came to flirting, but she was sure he wasn't gay. Maybe he didn't have much girl experience so that is why he pushed away at the action.
Lily didn't know why she felt so bold. She normally wasn't that flirty with him, just a compliment and the usual we're getting married in the future statement. Nothing that should have scared him into believing she was obsessed or anything creepy. She wasn't normally flirty it just felt okay to be this way with David. After all she knew what she was doing, she had years of experience watching James flirt, though she couldn't say some of those things to David. Lily blinked at his words. Lily would stop trying to charm him, she didn't want to make her friend uncomfortable. "And I love spending time with you." She explained getting comfortable beside him. Lily wasn't exactly sure what to talk about, but she figured she'd just strike up a fresh conversation. "Davey what are you doing for Easter break?" Lily asked she hoped he'd spend a day with her, maybe they could do something fun. "I'd like to go into London and take some pictures, maybe we can meet up and spend a day together?" She said almost questioning. Lily hoped maybe they could do something outside of the school setting. She got pretty bored with repetitive activities and she'd love to take some pictures of the new blooming flowers in the parks.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -David was not usually one of those guys who chased after girls or used his status as a Quidditch player and captain to get in good with them. He never saw the need to do that and he surely wouldn't start now. David got flustered when he was around girls anyway, especially the ones he liked as more than a friend, or even just the ones that he thought were really pretty. There were some however, like Lily, who he found easy to talk to, though that was because he did his best to suppress the non-platonic feelings that crept into his mind every so often. David was sure that Lily never thought of him like that, or any girl for that matter, and he figured that he would just wait for relationships after he got out of school. There was no point to get himself distracted, was there? He could manage another year and a half, right?
After she had told him about the creepy guy that stole her first kiss, David couldn't help but feel a bit jealous, as well as protective, because of it. He didn't like the idea of someone forcing themselves on her, nor did he like the idea of someone taking what she should have rightfully given to someone. David had never kissed anyone before, aside from his mother, which he claimed didn't count in any way, and sometimes wondered when he would get his. He knew that he would have to be in a relationship first, and that he wanted it to be with someone special; he figured that it would come after Hogwarts too, since he didn't see himself entering into a relationship with the opposite sex anytime soon. He had even gone as far as to offer his company on a more regular basis, as if they didn't hang out a lot together already, so to ward this guy off from trying something like that again.
When she had taken what he said and responded about her needing a babysitter and him wanting to get closer to her, he tried to protest. He felt his cheeks growing warm because she had called him out, but he didn't want her to think that he was trying to do something similar to what this other guy did. David's thought about kissing Lily before, but always in private and not when she was standing right in front of him with his shirt off. Instead, he told her that he loved spending time with her, which was the truth, and that it would kill two birds with one stone, which made it all the more worth it. He smiled again when she reciprocated the sentiment and then she asked him what he was doing for Easter. "Not sure. Probably just hanging with my dad; probably go to a rugby match or something," he told her. "That would be fun. Owl me after you know when you'll be going and I can met you," he told her with a nod and a smile. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -wearing only half of his quidditch uniform
