Finally, the weekend was here. After a long week of tedious training sessions, Victoire was finally free. She tidied up her few of her things at her desk and took the floo powder before leaving. This week was stressful, she hadn't seen Teddy anywhere and at this point she was ready to give up on men altogether. That wouldn't be such a bad idea. I'm sure I could find anyone just as gorgeous as Teddy. [/i] The blonde made her way to one of the many fireplaces around the Ministry of Magic and ported herself to the Three Broomsticks Inn. The Three Broomsticks Inn was a very welcoming environment, at least compared to Hog's Head. The regular customers weren't always drunk during the evening than near the late hour, the whole place was kept clean, and sometimes few Hogwarts students would stay for the summer - sometimes to study while still around other wizards. Or at least, this is what the girl heard around the pub. Victoire sat at the bar, ordering herself a glass of firewhisky. Her intentions tonight were to let loose and have fun, with or without anyone. [/blockquote]

It had been a long ass week. Ric remembered back in his days as a student where he often wondered what exactly the grounds keeper did all day and what an easy job the man must have - boy was he ever wrong. There was constantly something needing attention, whether it be the whooping willow to settle down, the giant squid to chase away from the shore line, a dispute to settle between creatures in the forest... it was never ending! And that was without even going into the constant repairs and maintenance. Ric remembered stories about a half-giant, Hagrid, who was once the grounds keeper but did it all without magic - how on earth that was even remotely possible Ric had no idea, though he supposed being half-giant had helped! That made him chuckle to himself as he put his tools away at last before heading back to his small home on the grounds to get cleaned up. What was with the grounds keeper job that attracted non-humans? Hagrid the half-giant, Ric the werewolf & he was pretty sure the guy before him had been at least part goblin...
Ric stepped into the small house single called home and stopped to feed Drake, his faithful dog. That was one of the best things about this job in his opinion - it was recommended to have a dog that could accompany you into the forest as for some reason most of the creatures in the forest seemed to like canines (except of the wolfy variety of course...). The house itself was only a few decades old, the old groundskeepers hut that had once stood in the same spot having been destroyed during the battle of Hogwarts. The new house that they'd built wasn't flash but it was at least bigger than a single room. He had one open plan living area which housed the kitchen, a table and a few chairs, a bedroom just large enough to fit a double bed, a chest of draws and an freestanding armoire, and then a small bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink - all the necessities he could need.
It was friday night so Ric quickly showered and dressed in casual clothing - he wore dark wash denim jeans that slung low on his hips, a white tank that molded itself to every muscle on his chest and a slipped on top of that a navy blue shirt which he left unbuttoned and rolled the sleeves up to his elbows. On his feet he reluctantly put on black leather dress shoes, though he would much rather have gone bare foot he didn't think that was really appropriate standard of dress for a friday night in hogsmede. Finally ready he patted Drake as he headed out, walking quickly down the road to the village.
The bell tinkled above his head announcing his arrival as he entered the bar. It wasn't too busy yet and his pale blues surveyed the inhabitants before he spotted a familiar face. He grinned and made his way over to the bar stopping beside the pretty blonde, "Vic! How have you been? Haven't seen you in ages!" he said happily as he leaned down to kiss her on the cheek, an arm slung around her shoulders. He straightened, pulling his arm away from her in the process but didn't move away as he signaled the bartender - "Firewhisky thanks, and another for the lady as well," he said with a wink in her direction as he took a seat beside her, "So whats new? I was so sorry to hear about your uncle by the way - that has to have been rough..." he said sincerely as his drink arrived and he took a long drink. He didn't want to bring the mood down, but he hadn't seen her since Harry Potter's death and it seemed rude to not pass on his condolences. [/font][/blockquote]

Caine pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to ward off the headache he knew would ensue if he didn't leave this place five minutes ago. Work had just been troublesome that day, it was the one day that his departments services were needed all day long and he was just physically exhausted not to mention mentally as well. The ups and downs of the job he didn't mind but he wasn't so accustomed to those that have been there much long that he had himself. Finishing some paperwork and filing it away on his way out of the Ministry he nodded to those still left and he checked his watch. Previously he had agreed to meet a friend at a bar and catch up over drinks, it had been much too long since he'd seen Ric and he figured the way today went was perfect for a few drinks to relax some. There were only those far and few between that understood the baggage of a name you couldn't get rid of, and hence a friendship.
Walking out to the lobby of the Ministry he stood in line for the Floo Networks and didn't pay any mind to those around him until he stepped into the bright fireplace and arrived at his chosen destination. Having run a bit late he paused for a moment before scoping around the bar and looking to see if he had arrived. It was familiar to him and even some of the faces, regulars since he'd been a student. Now, he wasn't hard to miss with his giant frame and while Caine was tall and athletic himself, he was a stick compared to his friend and he saw him at the bar, already conversing with another person. Caine approached from the side where he could greet Ric, "Sorry i'm late, was finishing up some paperwork." Caine announced his presence and peered past his friend at the seemingly lovely blonde that would join them.
Of course, had to be a familiar face, never any strangers here. Not that he minded this one. "How are you Vicky? It's been too long." They were friends and had been friends since school, the three had been the same year at Hogwarts though his history with her was a little more interesting though they managed to be friends, and it was all good there. Caine looked around for a moment as he attempted to flag down the bartender, busy night already.

As Victoire was slowly downing her first drink, her mind was replaying her accidental meeting with Teddy. He worked in Hogwarts, why the hell was he at the Ministry? Even hit wizards tend to didn't enjoy the ministry during it's constant stage in chaos. The blonde shook her head and finished her drink, ordering herself a shot of a strong muggle whiskey that was quite popular in this wizarding bar. "This is to forget that scumbag." She took the shot and ordered a second - "and another to make sure it stays that way." She took the second in no time and ordered a third for "good luck."
After her third shot, Victoire went back to her warm firewhisky, feeling what she drank was enough to forget Teddy. The faint sound of the bell was ignored by the blonde at first. She wasn't here to meet anyone so her mind was focused on her now empty glass. That familiar voice. It's been years. The feeling of a rough kiss to her cheek made her turn her head to see who the stranger was, neither pleased or disgusted with the result. "So, they let you out of the dog house, Ric? It's great to see you." She shrugged nonchalantly, "Let's see, three shots and two drinks in, I am feeling so great Ric. I feel nothing at all. What about you? Catching up with those female professors you desired so long for?" Victoire joked with him, nudging an elbow into his side playfully. She took the drink and smiled at the bartender, saying a quick "thanks" before turning her attention back to Ulric. "Well, I saw Teddy the other day. God, that bastard can piss me off," she took a sip of the new glass of firewhisky and looked at the shelf of drinks in front of her. Losing her uncle didn't hit her as hard as it hit his children or Teddy. Sure she spent moments with him as she hung out at the house, but she wasn't close with her uncle. It still hurt even after such a short time had passed. "I'm hanging in there. My cousins have it worst. I can't imagine losing my father." Her head turned back to Ulric, whose father attacked hers. "It could have happened, Ric, but I'm happy it didn't or else I wouldn't have a man's best friend today," the blonde smirked, referring to his werewolf gene.
Victoire was taking another sip, feeling the mood in the air needed some uplifting. Sure enough, an all too familiar face arrived just in time. An ex she didn't mind seeing around was Davin Lestrange. They ended their relationship and stayed friends shortly after. A Greyback, a Lestrange, and a Weasley, the trio that confused the hell out of her father. "My favorite Lestrange," the blonde smirked before taking a third sip, "How has the work been? You getting those dark wizards?" She put her glass down, ready to hear what the other side of the ministry really does.
