Jules wasn't happy, and she didn't like it one bit. This weighted, empty feeling was so anti her usual sunny disposition that it was almost like she'd been involved in some weird body snatch experiment.... or maybe she'd been polyjuiced and she wasn't even her at all? Shaking her head she frowned, that last insane thought pretty much proving she'd lost her mind for real this time. It was all Jason's fault of course - she was worried about him and she hated the feeling. She wanted to have fun, live life , be silly and crazy and young. No cares, no responsiblities. Normally her twin brother totally got that and was just as hyperactive as she was, but now, well now she hardly recognized him and it was starting to scare her.
It had all started after she'd left school for the holidays, Jason stayed which she guessed should have been her first clue that something wasn't right. Their parents seemed ok with him not wanting to come home so she hadn't really thought much of it... but then when she got back he'd been holed up in the hospital wing. She remembered getting back to school and immediately going looking for him, only to be told he'd been sick for the last week and no one had seen him. She'd rushed off to see him, that was her twin after all and she couldn't believe he'd been sick enough to justify a whole week in the infirmary and no one had bothered to notify his family... but they wouldn't let her see him. They said it was best to stay away for the moment - she'd fought and argued of course, but she had eventually been forced to give up and wait. When he'd finally been released she was so relieved, though thought it odd that no one would tell her what he'd been sick with. He seemed different to her after that... he looked pale but she just attributed that to having been so sick, he was more stand offish, he refused to come near her, or look her in the eye. His rejection hurt, that was her twin brother, the one person she never expected that from and she wondered for days as to what she had done to upset him... She tried to apologize for whatever it was that had made him so distant with her, but to no avail.
She watched, relegated to a spectator in her brothers life as he seemed to change before her eyes. She'd spent so much of her life on the sidelines watching him, she was his biggest fan at his Quidditch games, but this was different. Then she'd been allowed to be a part of it, to be there to help him celebrate his wins and commiserate his loses, but now - he barely acknowledged her presence at all. Her happy, hyperactive brother seemingly disappeared day by day to be replaced with a stranger to her. He was sadistic, taking pleasure in others pain, which made her wonder if perhaps he knew exactly what he was putting her through and was actually enjoying it, though to her it seemed like just simply no longer cared.
It had been a couple of weeks now, and she was desperate to get her brother back. She missed him in a way only other twins would understand. She was scared and worried as to what was going on with him but she wasn't going to give up that easily. If he was in trouble, or hurt, or if something had happened to send him on this downward spiral she wanted to know about it and damn it all she would fix it. She'd fight of a horde of trolls single handedly without magic if she had to!
The Quidditch pitch had seemed the logical place to ask him to meet her. It was a neutral ground for both of them, a place that held nothing but the best memories right from when they were very small children at their fathers games, up to now where Jason would play and her voice would cheer louder than any other in the stadium. It was private and out of the way too which she figured was a good thing in case things got heated. She'd left him a note asking him to meet her here, the sun had been high in the sky at the time and she'd sat there for hours, lost in her thoughts and memories of happier times as the sun slowly set. A tear rolled down her cheek and her heart broke, she'd been there for hours and he hadn't come. She'd told him she needed him and he'd left her sitting there for hours, alone. The tears fell freely now as the reality of the situation set in, she really had lost her twin.
Jules got up intending on going back to the dorm and just going to sleep to shut out the ugliness of the day when she saw him. She stopped in her tracks, her hands coming up to wipe her tear stained cheeks before offering him a weak smile, "You came." she stated simply, unsure as to how she should be feeling now that he was finally here. She was relieved of course, but she was also so sad, angry too. It was a real melting pot of emotions and she took a deep breath, trying to get control of herself before continuing, "I've missed you." her voice was barely a whisper as she admitted that to him, hoping the brother who loved her was still inside him somewhere and would hear the pain in her voice. She looked up at him, her eyes still glassy with tears, "Whats going on with you Jason? Please, please, let me in..." she begged, pleaded, with him, desperation in her tone as she moved toward him, her arms itching with the need to hug him, but knowing he'd probably push her away as was his behavior lately if she got too close. Jason had trouble sleeping during the night, even worst during the day. The nightmares would haunt him and then it started to occur why vampires rarely would sleep. Jason sat in the Gryffindor dormitory alone. The headmaster and staff were always informed when one of their students was a vampire, werewolf or anything else that was not considered normal. Therefore he roomed alone. What was normal anymore? Jason lived day by day learning slowly about himself. He loved the speed, loved the agility but the not being able to go into the sun was killing him most. Merlin's beard, if there was a game and he mad missed it things would be awful. Jason couldn't let down his father, he already let down himself at one point he couldn't do it anymore. His father was most important to him, and Julia... she wouldn't understand.
Jason vaguely understood his own self why he was being a jerk. Yet he liked it in a way. Every girl that used him for his kindness, every girl that broke his heart. They were doomed now. His one love Coraline, she created him and gave him life. Everything he could ever wish for she was. The girl loved him enough to food him her own blood, she put his needs first and for that he'd never let anything come in between them. Most people wouldn't understand such a bond. It was a rare love that he craved and forever he'd have it. Jason watched a note slide under the dorm to his door. "What the.." He said getting up walking over to it. His crimson eyes skimmed the words as if he could hear them in his own sister's voice. Julia, she longed to see him and deep down somewhere inside his complications he wanted to see her as well. Jason looked to the window he had painted over black. The way the paint was chipped he could see hints of sunlight. She'd have to wait, and he'd have to feed. Jason knew he's meet Coraline deep down in the dungeons and spend a couple hours with her. His girlfriend would not be thrilled he was leaving her side at night due to how mischievous he could be now a days. If Jason explained his disposition he was sure she'd understand.
Jason walked over to his trunk and put on his hoodie pulling it over his head. He walked out into the common room avoiding all patches of sun light. Another day like the other would not happen, Jason had went outside and the sunlight burned him. He quickly recovered but it didn't scorch any less. Jason did miss the sun, he enjoyed playing quidditch in the sunlight but he had skipped a couple practices and he was sure Captain James Potter would not be thrilled with him. Jason sucked his teeth no one would understand why he made this choice. Why would hyperactive, optimistic never a care-in-the-world Jason want to be changed? The answer to him lay in his past, all the girls that constantly used him, toyed with his emotions as if he were not even capable of feelings but no more. Jason was cold now and he liked his new improved self.
Making his way to the dungeons he met with his girlfriend who had a tasty treat for him. A blood bag from the infirmary. Jason made sure she ate as well as he eat till he was content his eyes blackening as he did so. He was lost in the taste of blood and the feeling of ecstasy but before he got ahead of himself he parted with his girlfriend vowing he'd return. Jason walked the halls ways like a ghost quite but swift. Jason looked to the window seeing the dark sky and walked out seeing Julia and the pathetic tears on her cheeks. He didn't know how to act, what to say even he just stormed up to her wiping the tears off her cheeks, his hand cold to her warm face. "Stop that, your too pretty to cry and any excuse you conjure up isn't flying Jules." Jason snapped looking her over. It was hard for him to see her like this but he had to push her away because she wouldn't understand. "Yeah, of course I came. You practically begged me remember?" Jason said trying to refresh her memory. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest. "I missed you too." Jason confirmed mumbling skimming his bottom lip with his front teeth. "Let you in? Were are my letting you into Julia. Don't do this to yourself. You just don't get it." Jason explained walking past her sufficing his own urge to meet her hug. He walked into the quidditch patch and looked up the sky that was blanketed with stars. There was still beauty in the world.

Jules's brown eyes were dark with tears as she watched him as he approached her. He'd always been so happy, so light, but now he seemed heavy to her, burdened and she longed to see him happy and carefree again. The anger rolling off her made her nervous, an emotion she was completely unfamiliar with in his presence and she frowned, biting her lips and trying to resist the urge to take as step away from him as he closed the space between them aggressively. Her eyes were wide, her tears having left trails down her cheeks as she tilted her head to look up him, hoping that the nerves she couldn't explain weren't showing in her eyes. She was so angry at him for the way he'd been treating her, but for now that anger had reduced to a slow simmer, over taken by her need to just be there for him - she could yell at him later.
His hand came up to cup her cheek, softly brushing away her tears and she couldn't help the involuntary gasp of surprise that escaped her at the feel of his skin against hers. He was freezing! She couldn't help but narrow her eyes at his reprimand, her temper which had moments ago been on a low simmer now returning to a full boil, "No excuse will fly?!" she repeated back to him incredulously, "I'm sorry my tears upset you Jason, but you can just deal with them seeing as it's your fault i'm crying" she said, unable to resist rolling her eyes. He was treating her like some silly girl out here crying over an unrequited crush or something, but she was his twin and she was crying because she was afraid the brother who meant everything to her was gone forever. He would just have to deal with her tears, at least his reaction to them somewhat reassured her he still had a heart.
Her teeth ground as she tried to hold back the verbal tongue lashing she was so sorely tempted to send his way as he brushed off her relief that he'd actually come, making it sound like he'd only turned up because she'd begged him too, "You've barely said a word to me since before Christmas, forgive my surprise that you actually granted me an audience - even if I had to sit out here for 4 hours before you bothered to turn up. she deadpanned, frustrated at his attitude. If he wanted to be an ass, well then she could play that game. It reminded her of when they were children and would spend hours just purposely annoying the other until one would eventually break and go running to their mother... well Mummy wasn't around now, and she would just have to out-ass him until he broke and told her what on earth had crawled up his.
So he had missed her too, at least him admitting it was some form of progress she supposed. She wished she understood this hot and cold behavior. He said he missed her, but he pushed her away... he still hadn't even really looked at her properly, it was like he was afraid to make eye contact. It was baffling if nothing else and all that achieved was to confuse her further. She levelled him with a what she hoped was a steely glare trying to catch his eye while matching his posture with her arms crossed across her chest, "Did you really miss me Jason, or are you just saying that because you think it's what I want to hear?" she questioned, not really knowing if she wanted to know the answer to her own question but unable to not ask, "Because I gotta tell ya brother dear, you sure haven't been acting like it..." she continued, her tone flat but unable to keep a hint of desperation out of her voice as she hoped he would reassure her, but not really knowing whether she could trust his words at this stage.
She watched despondently as he brushed past her to walk out onto the Quidditch pitch, his head tilting upward to look at the stars. What did he mean, 'don't do this to yourself?', and what is she just didn't 'get?' He was talking in riddles and she felt tears prick her eyes again. At least he'd confirmed that there was something going on she supposed, it was nice to know this whole situation wasn't in her imagination and she wasn't going crazy after all. Her head whirled with a hundred different thoughts and she knew she'd have a headache if she kept up like this for much longer. She walked to stand next to him, close enough that their arms touched and gazed up the stars, they really were beautiful, "My whole life Jase, you've been the one person i've always been able to count on... we tell each other everything - why can't you tell me this?" she asked, not looking at him but letting her voice, nothing more than a soft whisper, travel out to the night.
