Dress shopping? How foul! Lily walked around the shop hating all the frill and lace, it was far from what she considered casual. Lily Potter was a always one to tag after her big brother James. Adventurous and spunky, but a dress? Someone was barking up the wrong tree. Her older cousin Rose insisted she dressed exquisite for this ball, yet if it were really that important she would have been try out dresses in Diagon Alley weeks ago not the day of. The girl who chucked around her checking themselves out made her wonder what she had been missing. Lily herself had tried out quite a few dresses and nothing made her look quite as beautiful as she wanted. Grey blue eyes skimmed the room and there she saw it hang so flawlessly. Lily walked over, swift not drawing attraction to herself.
The aqua and black were so beautiful together, she nearly squeaked. Lily looked around trying to contain her excitement. Was she actually being girly? This was odd the small red head walked right into the changing room and tried on the dress. It hugging her teenage curves so nicely. If only Albus and James were here to see her. Or even her father she knew one of them would object. Good thing she had Rose shopping with her. Lily took off the dress going to meet her cousin, after flashing the dress Rose mentioned she needed shoes. Wait heels?! Lily couldn't manage heels she'd surely fall. Oh this was going to be tough. Couldn't she just wear flip flops and call it a night? Merlin, what a grand pain this was going to be. Lily could see it now she'd trip over self. Albus was the clumsy one not Lily. What to do, what to do?
After Rose picked out her shoes she tried them on maintain balance to the best of her ability. Rose advised she'd be better off walking around all day in them. That it would teach her slowly and she'd get used to it. After paying for all her items the girls made their way over to the hair saloon. Getting her hair and nails done was a treat, this she had to admit but only after she suffered through the pain of getting her knots removed. The windows outside flashed the night sky and she grew anxious. The anticipation was enough to drive her mad. The two girls set foot back to Hogwarts by the floo network of course.
The castle seemed quite it must have been this way, due to the fact everyone was probably held up in their common rooms. Gossiping about the night and events. On the down side everyone had a date and she was going stag. Oh did she really just think that she was starting to notice James making a dent in her vocabulary. A small chuckle and she was off the the basement to get ready. Lily got dressed adding the bow to her head full of curls. Lily let a couple of the girls play with her make up because she wouldn't have a clue where to begin. Once she was finished she looked at herself, hardly knowing the girl in her reflection. Brilliant, she put her mask on and made her way to the great hall.
Quickly she made her way over to the punch table grabbing a cup. Lily sipped the fruity beverage, normally she wasn't too nervous but tonight something was off. Perhaps it was her first time going to a ball or maybe it was the fact she was dressed girly for once. The male eyes in this room were certainly glued on her. There her friends were waving her over. The music started and she decided to dance with the girls. No Lily Potter did not need a date to enjoy this night. "Let's dance!" She said enthusiastically with a grin her group of girls dancing upbeat and fast to the music. Rhythm was one thing she had, she spent hours dancing with her brothers through the years. When she song was over she backed up her heels causing her to wobble out of control and she fell into someone. Her grey eyes looked up to lock with Marius Lestrange. "I am so sorry Marius, just these heels and I, well we don't mix well." She explained with a hesitant smile trying to straighten herself out.

Valentines Day. It was a bittersweet day for Marius as he went about his business as he walked the halls, his usual disdainful look on his face as he watched all the couples all over the castle. The abundance of affection didn't sit well in his stomach. He'd never been an affectionate person, a result of his upbringing no doubt, so all of the public displays brought on by this most romantic of days just made him rather ill. The day had started off horribly at breakfast when he'd been approached by more than one giggling girl enquiring as to whether he'd be attending the dance that evening. As usual he dismissed them without an answer, much to his sisters amusement as he saw her across the table chuckling at him.
These girls didn't know how to take a hint however. He'd never given any of them a reason to think he'd be remotely interested but none the less eventually promised a couple of dances to the more attractive girls just to avoid suspicion. It was fine line he danced between his blatant disinterest and giving in enough that people didn't start rumours about his sexuality or something else as laughable. The truth was much simplier and came in the form of a beautiful red-head who had captured his eye and his heart in their third year. As her face entered his minds eye, he turned his head toward the Hufflepuff table as inconspicuously as possible, his brown eyes lighting up as he saw her, laughing along with her cousin as they ate their breakfast.
He spent the reminder of breakfast taking subtle glances at her under his lashes until he saw her stand to leave and made his own excuses to leave. He had become very proficient at following her over the last two years and she still didn't suspect a thing. The truth was however, that when he had no where else to be that he would be missed from, he was near her. He knew her secrets as he drank in every word she spoke, her voice his second favorite noise in the world, beaten only by her laugh. He couldn't control the compulsion inside him that made him crave her presence like a drug and had long since given up trying. It was his deepest darkest secret, well that and the fact that he'd taught himself how to become an animagus so it was easier to follow her when she was outside in the grounds. He often wondered if perhaps she'd ever wondered about the strange falcon that seemed to have a particular liking for her...
As Lily and Rose left, Marius fell into place a far way behind them, close enough that he could hear what they were saying but not so close that they were aware of his presence. He heard them talking about dress shopping and raised his eyebrows - Lily was going to dress up for the ball tonight? His heart leapt and suddenly he wasn't dreading the dance anywhere near as much as he had been a moment ago. The girls flooed to Diagon Alley and after waiting a few moments Marius followed, figuring that if Lily was going to dress up for him, the least he could do was return the favor.
He saw her walking down the cobbled street and made the decision to leave her be. He didn't want to see the dress she bought now, he'd much rather wait and see it on her, though he wondered if the anticipation would kill him. He sighed, inwardly lamenting his circumstances that meant that he couldn't declare himself to his love. He would be disowned, what Lestrange fell for a Potter? This was just the way it was sadly, though Marius had to acknowledge he was getting used to unrequited love.
Marius purchased for himself a smart black tuxedo with slightly shiny fabric on the lapels, a crisp white shirt and black bow tie. As he dressed in his common room that night, he admitted he looked dashing, and if the looks on the girls faces as he entered the common room reinforced that as he felt them undressing him with their eyes. He made his escape and walked to the grandhall, fitting his matte black eyemask over his face as he entered. Brown eyes now rimmed in black swept the room and nodded happily to himself as he confirmed his love was not yet in attendance.
Ignoring peoples looks as he strode across the room, Marius found a secluded spot hidden partially in shadow where he had a clear view of the entrance. He leaned against the wall, his hands in his pockets as he waited for her. He didn't have to wait long when a vision of beauty in an aqua dress walked into the room. His breath caught in his throat as his eyes drifted along her body, from the bow in her hair to the heels on her feet. He could feel his body stirring and swore under his breath, unable to take his eyes off her. She was beyond stunning.
As he stood there watching her, he found himself getting more and more agitated. His palms were itching with the need to place them on her hips as she danced and every muscle in his body was aching with the tension filling him as his body and heart waged war with his head. A burning fire had been lit within in and anyone looking at him would see a desperate looking man, hair mussed from hands running through it, eyes almost black with the intensity burning inside him.
Before he knew it his feet were moving of their own violation, carrying him toward her. He came to a stop only a couple of feet behind her, his breathing heavy as the battle within him waged on. The decision was made for him however when she stumbled on her heels and fell back into him, his hands instinctively grabbing onto her hips and held tight. She was even more breathtakingly beautiful up close he had to acknowledge as she looked up at him, her mouth forming words that he didn't hear. He knew he should let her go, move his hands from her hips but he'd waiting so long, and instead of letting her go he squeezed her a little tighter.
She took a step away from him in an effort to straighten herself out and that was when it was like something snapped inside of him. Without thinking Marius's hands dropped from her hips, only to clasp one of her small hands in his larger one and begin to tow her out of the room. He had to get her alone, somewhere where no one could see, somewhere where for at least one moment he could finally indulge in this goddess that had enchanted him. He turned as they exited the hall moving quickly down a corridor that was filled with nothing but empty classrooms. Satisfied that no one would bother them there he tugged her hand, bringing her flush with his chest before moving to trap her between his body and the wall behind her, "Lily, what am I going to do with you..." he whispered as though in pain as he inhaled her scent. His stormy dark eyes meeting hers as he lowered his head, pressing a heated kiss against her lips. [/size][/blockquote]

The music in the room caused her to look around absently before coming to the realization this Lestrange boy still had his hands locked around her hips. Just maybe he was waiting to see if she could balance, it would be rude to let her fall on her face. After a moment her freckled cheeks flushed a pink color and she could feel him tighten his grip. The look in his eyes, was not one she was used to. Not that she feared anything but she simply took a hesitant step back, ironing out her dress with her hands. Lily looked around and for a moment she felt like no one was keep an eye on her. She felt alone, secluded even. Lily ran her fingers through her curly locks of red hair before she felt Marius grab her tiny hand. What the... she didn't even have time to speak before he was dragging her out of the room. So much for the ball.
"This better be good Marius, I got all dressed up in this dress to be at that bloody ball." She warned, her tone stern. After a moment she looked down at her heels trying to keep up with him boy without falling. Lily was starting to get nervous as he weaved through the corridors of the castle. Her mind started to panic and she began to sweat a bit stopping for a moment trying to tug away from his grip. The roughness caused her to give in and she was jogging to keep up. Once he reached his destination she watched him close off the exit. Lily looked around frantically as she was pinned against the wall looking up into his mysterious eyes. If she knew the look of desire it was right there in that boys eyes. His words caused her to think for a moment. "Do with..m..?" Lily question her mouth being covered with his lips as her eyes widened. The butterflies in her stomach were enough to make her toss her cookies, if only she had eaten.
Then the thought occurred this was her first kiss, it had been stolen from her. The fury built up inside of her as she felt him deepening the kiss. If this were her first she'd better make it worth it, then scold him right? Lily placed her hands on his sides absently, returning his kiss. When she felt lost of oxygen she pulled away and looked up at him, her cheek stained a scarlet color. Lily was never one to be speechless, she took after her mother in that trait. The red head's heart was pounding at a fast rate. The anger surfaced and she reached up and slapped him across his face. "Who do you think you are?!" She hissed furiously. This boy thought he could just corner her, steal her first kiss and live to speak of it. Lily couldn't deny she fully hated the thought, at least he was handsome, but really? "You better come up with some answers right this moment." She demanded looking into his stormy eyes. There was a lot on his mind she could tell that much from looking at him.
The only question was why Lily? She never had paid much attention to him. She was friendly to everyone despite their surname but he wasn't special. It was odd to her, the last time she spoken to him was a while back when she let him borrow a quill. Certainly if this was his way of saying thank you, it was an odd way of doing so. "Well?" She asked kicking her heels off losing her height. The pain in her feet was awful, at least now if he decided to drag her to a different location she wouldn't be making that loud clicky noise. Lily hated being confused and lost, she wanted answered and she wanted them now as she glared at him crossing her arms over her chest awaiting a response.
