do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? The sunshine peeked through her window of the Gryffindor tower. Harley took a moment to adjust the the light, as she got up from her bed looking over the grounds. Icy blue eyes glanced to the lake, today she was going to spend some time with Kieran. The moon had come and gone, and after she understood the small amount of space he needed. The day after she would spend by his side in the hospital wing, humming and comforting him. She had always been there as long as she could remember, unafraid just there feeding affection. Through the years the had grown close, and when she seemed to forget most things, her times with Kieran normally would stay imbedded in her mind. An occasional slip up here and there, but he never seemed to mind to clue her in. It was nice out, the spring was one of her favorite times, because of all the rain. Harley never knew why she loved the rain so much, but it always made her feel like it was part of the past, she had forgotten. The buds on the trees, the sprouting flowers and the addition to wild life were the finest things. Harlequinn was a girl of simple interests. She would take in every little thing and notice the beauty in it where some took things for granted, Harley just loved life.
After spending a good half hour reflecting, she looked to the clock on the wall. It was just about that time to start getting ready and head to the lake. Harlequinn climbed down from the window nook, and crawled to her trunk gathering her white bathing suit. She quickly got dressed putting on her purple sun dress, so she didn't need to walk half the school in basically nothing. The thought of how many guys would be staring gave her chills, her cheeks brightening. Harley had never really been one to think too much of guys. She had a thing for Kieran since they both hit puberty, but she was pretty sure it was just a crush. The Gryffindor girl could not have been the only one, and she'd take the secret to the tomb with her. A giggle passed her lips, at the thought of how red he'd be if she ever intentionally flirted with him. Kieran was pretty shy, that one everyone wanted but only few could get to understand. In all actuality she was happy with her standings with him, she wouldn't jeopardize what a good thing they had. No one would ever be that close to her, she'd do anything for Kieran and she could only say that about a few of her friends. Loyal to the end, and all that good stuff.
After tossing her hair in a messy bun she slid on her white flip flops and preceded to make her way to the lake. Avoiding any distraction she skipped along humming to herself. A tune she was familiar with, it always played in her dreams, so she wondered if it was related to her past. Once she hit the outside she put her arms out and spun around letting the warm sun, touch her pale skin. On the way she found a flower, a beautiful one she had to give it to Kieran. The dark haired girl bent down picking it, bringing it to her nose taking a breath of the sweet scent. He'd love it, she was sure now. Wait, was she suppose to meet him at the lake, or wait for him in the common room? A brief moment of panic crossed her mind as she ran into the forest toward the lake. When she hit the sand she looked around. "Kieran.. where are you?" She pouted pacing back and fourth. The girl jogged her memory but got nothing. Stupid, stupid she reminded herself, getting distracted by the lakes crystals. Harley smile looking over the lake taking in the fresh air. The sound of scattered prints caused her to smile as she turned around and ran toward him, opening her arms and locking them around his body. "Kieran." She whispered pulling away, and looking up at him. "I was freaking out. Yes I was. I didn't remember if I was suppose to walk over here with you, and then it was like, well maybe he thought I stood him up, and all kinds of things." She explained looking down at her hand. "Oh! And I got you a flower." She squealed with a wide grin holding it up to him.

The previous full moon had been excruciating to say the least and even now almost a week after he still felt sore and still felt those muscles in pain and bones healing that had been broken, overall though he had grown so used to such pain and agony that it was just normal and if he wasn't sore he didn't feel right. Even if it wasn't from his transformation James' Quidditch practices often left you just crawling across to castle to classes or up the staircases to get to your common room. Sitting up in his bed he stared at his clock and saw it was still a bit early in the day, even sleep deprived his body was used to waking at a certain time and like the sun rose in the morning and set in the evening the cycle continued as such. Kieran swung his legs over the end of his bed and stood up, there was a mirror nearby and he could see just from his side a few scars left over from previous transformations. Nothing that he couldn't write off with a story about Quidditch or some childhood injury, Merlin knew that he'd gotten injured during matches once or twice and those months had been terrible once the full moon hit. There was no pain like transforming when you already had almost an entire side of broken ribs from being tackled into the ground by two opposing Chasers. He remembered waking up in the Hospital Wing and the first thing he saw were a pair of blue eyes right in his face, Harley had been checking make sure he was still breathing and not dead as she first thought. It startled him but it was nice as well because he hated dealing with the staff if he could help it.
In the mirror he also noted that the past six years of Quidditch had done him some good and that he wasn't that scrawny kid back in first year that was smaller than most of his male classmates. Glancing back at the time he moved around looking for his shorts, jeans and the rest of his things in the messy dorm as he had promised Harley that he would meet her later today and he wouldn't hear the end of it if he was terribly late. Pulling a shirt over his head and running his hand through his hair which was slightly messy he headed out of the Common Room and out of the castle where he found himself on the grounds. More often than not he found himself staring at the ground when he walked and when it came to the grounds he used more muscle memory when walking as he had been outside so many times for whatever reason. Even most of the Forest he knew by heart though he refused to take anyone out there that wasn't a Greyback or werewolf in general. They really had no business out there and that was one thing he could agree on with the Hogwarts Rules. The Prefect entered through the trees and up ahead he saw where the lake began, but no sight of her yet. Hopefully she would arrive soon, though he was content being outside and in nature as it brought him some peace. Once he began to walk on the sand he saw someone running toward him and by the sight of a girl in a dress and the velocity at which she hit him at he could only assume it was his best friend.
He had to laugh at her worrying, they had that level of trust and friendship where if they said they were going to do something then it would get done. Really she was the closest person to him and for him to let someone in those walls that wasn't blood was rare but it happened. The things and trauma he experienced were not something easily understood or accepted and she hadn't rebuffed him when he spilled his guts and bared his soul and history and he could remember that feeling of relief, there had been no obligation to tell her because she wasn't one of his siblings. Kieran took the flower she handed him and smiled, he was one of the few males that could admit he liked the outdoors and all the nature in it as well. Gently he held it in his fingers, Thank you.. Kieran thought about sticking the flower behind his ear as a joke, but it would hardly go with his hairstyle and outfit. Instead he stepped closer to Harley and pushing her hair aside on one side he placed it so it would sit behind her ear and the petals all be visible. It hardly goes with my hair today.
He took a step back and shoved his hands in his pockets. Most would ask how he dealt with having a girl for a best friend and merely it was matter of dealing with someone who could handle emotions openly or dealing with a guy who had more pride than sense to be open about things that bothered them, he didn't have time to deal with that and sometimes he really needed someone to be around. So what did you pull me away from studying for? He was done with all of his homework, but she knew his studious habits, however he was looking forward to a relaxing day.

do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? Harley was baffled that she could forget such a fine detail. It wasn't like her to remember every detail to a gathering, but honestly the meeting spot? Mentally she kicked herself. It had been a few days since she last seen Kieran, and seeing him was always a high light to her day. The boy had never asked for her to do all the things she did for him, but she swore this friendship was her best. Therefore being there to help, and even more being there to understand was a priority. Harley was surprised when she found out about Kieran's past, it was another reason she was so protective of him. The things that he had went through made her somewhat happy she didn't remember her own past. Not that she knew if it was bad, but if it was she was grateful to have her amnesia. It touched her how they were both orphans, and they could speak on any matter, and it would simply be natural for them. Harlequinn couldn't have asked for a better pal, she knew she was lucky to have Kieran as it was the same for him. Even if the two had an awkward experience they could laugh it off, and continue with life. No regrets toward their friendship, how she loved it to be.
When Kieran joined her, she swore she was choking him in the hug she was giving. After lightening up and handing him the flower she stood there with a cheeky grin. Kieran loved nature like she did, another thing they bonded over. As his blue orbs studied the little flower, she rocked back and forth on her heels wondering what he was going to do with it. Moving toward her, she watched him place it behind her ear, and before she could object he spoke. The boy was grateful, but his joke caused her to giggle and scrunch her nose. "Well bed head will do that to you, Silly." She teased reaching up combing her fingers though his hair. It was funny to her how girls spent so much time in the mirror fixing their hair, and guys could just wake up and roll out of bed. Harley usually didn't bother with her hair, it was almost to her back side, and she figured tossing it in a bun would just work for her. She wasn't obsessed with her appearance, and she hardly had anyone to impress. Harley could always dress up if she wanted to for Kieran, but he was so blind sometimes, she wondered if he noticed she did try to get pretty for him. Only friends, why would he notice such a thing? Harlequinn blushed at her thoughts and looked away trying to process his question.
Studying? She quirked one of her perfectly groomed eyebrows and looked him up and down. Did he forget they were suppose to go swimming? Did she mention it to him last night? "Well it's the weekend, and since your not effected by the water and I don't really get cold, I thought we could go swimming." Harley explained pointing to the water. She bounced a little bit getting excited. "Unless you believe in that Giant squid myth." She teased the lake's crystals reflecting in her blue eyes. Harley kicked off her flip flops and felt her toes in the sand. She loved the feeling of the earth under her, and often wondered if it was the wolf she became. It could happen right? Of course her wolf form was more used to the snow, it didn't matter much. "So I'm guessing you didn't bring a bathing suit, but your boy so you can go in your undies Kieran." Harley suggested giggling to herself. The thought caused her to blush as she lifted her dress over her head placing it on the dry ground. It now dawned on her she was suddenly feeling revealing, as she tried to look away for a moment. The girl walked forward and placed her feet in the cold water. "I wish I knew a heating charm that would work on this whole lake." Harley stated placing her hands on her hips. "You coming or you going to sit there and check me out all day?" She teased gesturing for him to come in.

Kieran didn't see the big deal in forgetting a detail, sometimes even he got caught up in his mind and thoughts and forget what was going on around him and would lose track of time. How many times had he forgotten dinner because he had been so caught up in something or been late on a patrol. For being the responsible and diligent person that he was he had his moments and getting caught in the web of his thoughts was certainly dangerous if you were on a time crunch. However, he hated not doing something if he said he was going to and especially with his close friends as he felt he was letting them down. Kieran's self-esteem level was that of where if he got something incorrect on his homework or something little happened that was fixable it was on a scale higher to him than normal and to him much more tragic than needed. For example, if he had slept in and been late by even ten minutes to this morning's arrangement then he would have hated himself for it and Harley would have been task with cheering him from his easily spiraling depression. To be honest, he hated how easily things affected him and sent him into fits of anxiety or reminded him of how he felt like a failure, he could have perfect marks and manage being on a Quidditch Team, his prefect duties and being a werewolf and that still wasn't enough and he couldn't understand why. It was part of talks he often had with Harley, they were both damaged in a sense and were each other's support, he really felt like she was going to be his best friend for a long time and he would hate to lose that for any reason, especially if it was stupid.
She ran her fingers through his quite messy hair, to which he didn't mind or object. She was one of the few people really allowed in his "bubble" per way while others he would have backed away his shyness taking over completely at that point. This girl he had known since he was eleven years old and had talked for the both of them until he grew to trust her. Kieran had no immediately family anymore, his parents were dead and all his half-siblings were from that destructive chain of terror that Fenrir set out to complete. Harley didn't have a childhood to remember and he was there for her when she would feel upset about that and he envied that from her only because he wished he could forget his, even his nightmares would remind him ever so often. There had always been talk and comments from some of his friends or others on the nature of their relationship. It was as if a boy and a girl could not be friends and stay just friends, he didn't think of her like that and in his mind she was still that friendly little girl on the train that spoke to the lonely little boy hiding in the train scared out of his mind. At some point you don't see the changes, even if they were almost seventeen now. The comment on studying was partly a joke but he always was ahead on his work and really had that studious nature worthy of a Ravenclaw which had him wondering why exactly the Sorting Hat placed him in Gryffindor versus the much calmer house. One of the many discussions he'd had with Harley over the years and he could see her Gryffindor qualities even if she couldn't. It was natural for him to support and encourage her and want the best for her.
Even if he was there i'm sure he's friendly and just misunderstood. If that wasn't the story of his life in a nutshell. People saw things on the outside and made assumptions when really on the inside it was a whole different story altogether. Kieran was one that did not judge at all unless they gave him reason to, and maybe that quality was his best one because he knew what it was like looking for just one chance. Kieran did a double take when she began to pull her dress off, it was just something that he wasn't used to happening. This was his best friend for crying out loud and he looked away before she caught him just gawking at her so blatantly. When she reached the water he figured that he should do something besides stand there like a lost idiot. Kieran kicked off his shoes and pulled his t-shirt over his head and unbuckled his belt, zipping down his jeans and letting them drop. In his shorts he wished that he had brought his trunks but this would do for now. It wasn't as if they hadn't gone swimming before but it was certainly a small shock to him to see this woman in front of him versus the girl that was always pictured in his mind. Maybe it was that he saw her personality versus her lean, toned body that her bathing suit now revealed. Like any man he avoided just staring at her chest or right at her, but like any man he certainly noticed that his best friend had really developed. But, really it had been so many years that he knew that he had developed as well having been that scrawny little boy back at age eleven and he was hardly skinny like that anymore. Kieran walked toward her, toward the water and stepped in the cold liquid not bothering him at all. You're not like my sister or anything.
Really he was just trying to play it off as not weird as they had never really been anything other than friends and despite the fact that she was sight to look at he didn't like complicated.

do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? The thought of being so accomplished with everything, often made Harley wonder how Kieran could be the slightest bit insecure. The two had, had many talks in the past about feelings of depression, amongst other things but she often was puzzled. Sure he was a werewolf, and he was often moody but he was a great guy. Anyone who spoke on him in different senses would get Harley highly upset. There she couldn't maintain proper grades, nor play quidditch, but Kieran was amazing at it. To think low of himself, just upset her, which was why she often tried to bring up his spirits. The thought of losing him in any sense scared her, even when he pushed her away emotionally, and she gave him his space she worried. The two had been close ever since they stepped on the train. He was afraid in the dark, and she was his light. Harley would always be there in any sense he asked her to be. Even when he didn't request her presence she tried to be close. When she had nightmares she'd go cuddle in his dorm, since boys were not allowed in the girls dormitory. It brought her a feeling of comfort that she could lay beside him, and know deep in her chest she was nothing but safe. Often as a young girl she wondered if Kieran noticed she was growing up, as she did him. Attraction from one end felt awkward so she tried to push it away, and remain his best friend. Her female friends would often tease her, and speak and comment on how close the two were, but Harley laughed it off. She wouldn't want anything to be strange, she loved the spot in his heart that she earned. Nothing else was acceptable.
Kieran would defend any creature that was unknown, she loved that about him as well. "Then how do you know he doesn't want to play? Come on." She urged, moving around so the water wouldn't freeze her toes. A lot of creatures were misunderstood, especially Kieran's kind, due to the bad media in the past. The boy's father gave his children a reputation they couldn't shake. Some feared the Greyback children, most didn't give them chances. Harley had been graced with the gift of knowing them, running with the pack even. Though she kept her distance on the full moon she was loyal to the wolves. The girl had spent the last three years of her life trying to perfect her transformation. The animagus she was, wasn't the easiest thing to master. Harley knew the risks of going into the forest, one wrong move could be the end of existence. It was worth the risk to make sure Kieran was alright. With her all she would be there loyal by his side, as she knew he would be for her. Sure she was forgetful, but he had always been there to jog her memory. Kieran was patient with her, and she gave him her friendship. That's the most she could ever want.
After getting used to her feet in the water she turned around catching Kieran as he removed his shirt. Her cheeks flushed a pink color, as she tried to divert her gaze. The water hardly phased her now that her mind was distracted on the site of Kieran's bare chest. Those muscles, so well sculpted. When did that happen, because she blatantly remembered him to be thin. At times it was hard to push away her thoughts but she looked at the water avoiding eye contact. It was foolish to be blushed at such, a sight. It wasn't like she hadn't noticed he was built, but shirtless? Something inside her felt a little wild. Harley walked into the water a little further, there was only two ways to do this. You could inch your way in and be effected by each step, or you could just jump in. Harley know Kieran wasn't effect by the cold water at all, so she knew he'd follow in suit. When she was up to her knees she dived in, going under adjusting for a moment. When she surfaced she was wet, flipping her hair out of her face as she screamed from shock. "Man, that was cold!" She shouted waiting for Kieran to catch up to her. She giggled as the water pierced her skin, like glass. When she was numb she caught his words. "No, I'm not, you're absolutely right. I am not your sister. I'm your soul mate." Harley added. She knew it wasn't only people that in were in love, that were considered soul mates.

It was strange when you were in the situation of being good at a lot of things but not feeling like you were good at anything. He'd even proved James' wrong on Quidditch and remembered the first year or two of torture that he'd endured just to stay on the team and be accepted, but that was expected from Potter as he was a Greyback and hardly had a good history between those names until now. Basically he had proved his physical worth on the team and could play well along side them and finally earned his place there. Kieran was no stranger to working hard and he felt that he had a lot to prove all the time. Coming from an orphanage, dead parents, a werewolf and related to Fenrir Greyback he felt that anchor all the time and he didn't know how to get rid of the ball and chain attached to his leg that made him grow weary. But, while he did have family here he hardly wanted to burden them with his problems as they all had their own, some worse than others and he truely wondered if his story was one of the most tragic. There was another issue and one he hadn't even mentioned to Harley even, because he wasn't sure what to think about it himself. Fenrir only came back to bite Kieran and then slaughter his mother and step-father like animals, even if Kieran had caused bloodshed himself. His siblings, or most of them, had met him and experienced a less than monstrous experience and met the man and not this creature. Why? Why did he have these memories and those like Luca remember a different man? That brought up a lot of hate and anger he couldn't control and he feared the consequences of thinking on it too deeply.
The water was obviously bothering Harley and he never had that problem with the cold and even if you saw him with multiple layers you would know that it was extremely cold because at that point even he felt it. Most of the time he wore jeans a t-shirt though he would have preferred shorts but he didn't want to draw attention to himself. Even some nights when Harley would just show up after a nightmare she would take all three or four of his blankets and he wouldn't sleep with any and that had become the norm. Previously there had been some teasing from his dorm mates about a girl sleeping in his bed but not for sexual purposes and at first it made him uncomfortable but ignoring them only showed them you didn't care and after six years now it was just normal and nobody even looked twice. Kieran was sure that his siblings were a bit bothered that he hadn't found one of them to become close to, but over time they accepted her as Kieran would easily accept one of their best friends and not question it. There were people that you instantly became close to and that was their beginning. Harley kept encouraging him to join her in the lake and didn't fear the squid either, he was probably misunderstood for his size and appearance and really had a heart of gold. You have no fear do you? At least not with dangerous beasts and such, best friend a Greyback werewolf and now she was going to swim with the giant squid. Luca had asked him one time if he trusted her, and he had said of course he did. And then he asked what she was to him, and he thought for a second on the nature of that question. Well, she was his best friend and his rock and nothing more. Luca gave him a funny look, but he brushed it off.
Kieran followed her in the water and noted that while it was cold it did not bother him and he hoped she wasn't going to swim in water too cold for her just for him. However, she dived right in and soon emerged soaking wet and surprise on her face and he had to laugh a little bit. Kieran himself walked forward and dived right the same way she had and he emerged, pushing the water from his face so that he could see and pushing his messy hair back. Still, there was a nagging though in the back of his mind. His best friend in a bikini, soaking wet, so close to him and was not he not a man but a beast as well. It was only instinct to notice but he would keep quiet because he didn't want to be one of those guys that used pretty girls for their physical desires, he wasn't going to waste six years of friendship for an experience. Soul mate? What did that word even mean, of course he had a misconstrued conception of love and relationships up until now so their perceptions were different. For the moment he played it off as if she was joking and he took a couple of steps back and splashed her with water. Looking down he caught sight of a scar on his arm and the water running over it. Sometimes he wished it would just wash off like it was just dirt because that's what it was, dirt on his history and stuck on his body forever to remind him of the animal that he was. What worth was an animal in this world? Harley, you're like family. He really didn't have anybody else and that orphanage taught him that. You have yourself and sometimes someone else.

do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? Harlequinn always thought of herself as brave. She had been best friends with her werewolf buddy for quite some time. Even when she had first come to realize he was a werewolf, she welcomed him into her life. There were times he'd break down, and she'd be there for him when dealing with the trauma of his past. She could hold him, sing to him in attempts to calm him down. The first one in the hospital wing, by his side with comfort snacks and gentle intentions. Harley couldn't imagine going through what Kieran did, and she always told him he was stronger of a person because of all he saw. Even if she didn't wish it upon him, and wished it all didn't happen, it shape the boy she loved. When Kieran thought he couldn't do something, she was there pushing him through it all. It had always been that way, and she kept her title as part of him, dear to her. It was all platonic of course even if she wished it could have been more. She was scared of one thing, losing him completely. Harley couldn't let that happen, so she sucked up her feelings and kept them inside. Occasionally her friends would tease her for being around the Greyback boy so often, with no title. She wouldn't take it too much to heart, if she did it would eat at her and she'd say something stupid to Kieran. Harley never wanted to have that awkward conversation of ever think we should be more she couldn't handle his reaction if it was negative. She never would shut down on him completely, it would just hurt her inside.
Those feelings never were brought up for a reason, because Kieran couldn't feel them. She was very positive of this, even with how much she had grown. Harley never watched Kieran go through a relationship, and if he had went through one, she didn't note it because in her eyes he was hers. She was blinded to the fact she gave up a lot of social interaction, and growing because of how much she cared for Kieran. She skip out on all her teenage dating years if something signified he was the one for her. Then again, she didn't want to think too much. She knew he could feel the shift in her heart rate, as if he could be signified something was wrong, she didn't need that right now. She needed to be his best friend. His question snapped her from her thoughts and he looked at him and shrugged. "I don't see the need to live in fear, it's a pointless emotion to have. It can stop you from living your life to the fullest." She said in all honesty. She didn't fear many things, that had to do with creatures or hardships of life. Harley feared losing those close to her, and with that came her past. She knew somehow there had to be somebody that loved her. It hurt her more then she could say, that she was given up on due to her problem. Who could do such a cruel thing to someone they loved. Abandon them with no hope in the world, of knowing who they were as a person. She walked around the water getting used to it, the piercing feeling subsiding into numbness.
Harley felt a sudden splash of water, touch her skin and she giggled at him splashing him back. "No fair Kieran you can't feel it!" She pouted slightly, as her teeth began to chatter a bit. After she got used to the water and claimed to be Kieran's soul mate she caught his words and turned her back to him looking down, sadly. She quickly glanced over her shoulder grinning wide. "Yup that's me." She said facing back to the open water. It was strange how he suddenly changed his thoughts ofter her foolish words. Perhaps she should stop talking and spare herself her dignity. If she wasn't like his sister, but was considered family what the heck was she? It peeved her inner wolf to over think this matter right now. If she was just family there was no hope for anything more, so she'd have to move on right? Harley found it hard to think of moving on, when she never had anything more of him. She loved the fact they could talk about anything, and they could share the depths of their souls with on another. She could sleep beside him, and feel safe and protected all in the same. Were those not things people who loved each other could feel, in a more meaningful sense.
The Gryffindor girl was naive to this, not ready to have this conversation. "You know, I may have one fear. Kieran are you afraid of love? Not the kind we have, like experiencing dating. I know I am, I mean what if the guy you liked, well in your case girl, didn't like you back. Silly, but just something I'm curious about." She admitted turning around moving slower to him. She innocently put her arms behind her back and give him wide blue eyes as a distraction. She wanted to know the answer to her question, but not until this. She lunged forward tackling him into the water with her. When surfaced she had her arms around his neck and she rested her forward against his, and kept her legs locked around his waist. "That's for splashing me Kieran." She teased looking into his blue orbs feeling herself close to him. She blushed at the thought looking away to the crystals that danced on the water top. She didn't want to let go, but she knew she'd have to eventually.

It was a common assumption that as a Greyback he had a werewolf gene or was a werewolf himself but it wasn't something confirmed unless you specifically chose to ask him and he chose to tell you. Harley knew everything about him. His father, his mother's death, his life at an orphanage and then here at school. The only thing he had yet to share, or rather admit, was that he was in fact responsible for the life of his stepfather. But, he had been in werewolf form and yet he carried the burden of that knowledge, that guilt on his shoulders everyday and that by that he was also responsible for his mother's death. The actions of a werewolf were hardly known the next morning much like a long night of drinking, but with a hangover less subtle. Kieran wasn't sure what he hadn't told her yet, maybe she would see him as the monster that he was and hate him forever because of murderous intentions she now perceived from him. It wasn't worth that risk and yet he let her risk her life joining the pack during the full moon and if he was resonsible for another death, especially her's he wouldn't know what to do with himself much less forgive himself ever. It was tradition that the morning after the full moon while they detained him in the Hospital Wing for the injury he almost always got she was sitting there on his bed next to him talk to him or making him laugh to make him feel better. Luca had shot him funny looks before, but he hoped that his brother accepted her as he did and for his sake and sanity. She was his best friend and his rock and that was just what he needed. Something uncomplicated and easy, he saw that trouble and drama his classmates would get into.
The single life was something that was much easier and less complicated. His life was complicated already and he didn't want to be a burden on anybody because of that, let alone start a relationship and be open with someone. That feeling of vulnerability was not something that he was comfortable with and even with Harley he had taken years to truly open up to her and tell her things or feelings and actually feel emotions. There were those select few that viewed him as unemotional because he didn't show a huge expression of emotion or wasn't actively chasing pretty girls down the hallway. Besides the fact that it was not in his nature and he was on the shyer side he just didn't have time for that. In time he would find someone to accept him and settle down and all that, but he didn't think farther than that. To be honest he hardly thought himself worthy for anyone. While he went through this whole horror of his life he was still that scared little boy in the woods that night, staring a monster and demon right in those bloodthirsty eyes and yet he tried to be strong but sometimes he lost his strength. Harley on the other hand was much braver than he was and he admired that about her and it gave him some courage of his own as he was supposed to have as a Gryffindor. How he had been placed in this house was beyond him, his good nature would have signaled a Hufflepuff or his studious was a Ravenclaw but he wasn't sure what made him a Gryffindor really at all or worthy of wearing the crimson colors. The world is a scary place.. And it was, the students hardly realized it behind the shield of the castle and of what they had here but so much could go wrong so fast and he hated not being in control, it was enough he lacked the control of his life he wanted.
Kieran wasn't the only one with hardship as Harley had her own demons to face of a missing past. He remembered learning about her memory loss and that she had nobody and he had resolved to be her best friend so that she wouldn't be alone and really it worked out as he had came straight from an Orphanage himself. Kieran had to laugh when she reacted to his splashing water at her, she was right he didn't feel the water as cold at all with his body temperature and she reminded him constantly when she would slip into his bed on particularly cold winter nights. He hoped that she understood what he meant by that, and that he did indeed mean it. Yes, he had brothers and sisters here but even if they were blood and werewolves as well they didn't understand him like she did and weren't as open or let him really vent. There was always this competition of who had it worse growing up and his story was pretty horrific but he didn't want anyone to have a worse story than his own or try to make some spectacle of it either. It wasn't about who went through the most hardship but sometimes they weren't on the same page about that and he was reserved with them even if they were loyal. Suddenly she threw a question at him, about a fear about love. And he was taken back a bit, it wasn't something he had really thought about before and when brought up in this light he did ask himself. The way she asked it had him wondering if this was some hypothetical question about her, but wouldn't she have told him if she was pining after a boy? Somehow they didn't talk much about relationships as Kieran hadn't really been in one or really chased after them either.
Before he could answer her he watched her slow movements before she was suddenly making contact with his own body and into the water they went. Lost in his thoughts he hadn't a change to react properly and he stood up but she was clinging to him, her legs around his waist and he placed his hands on her hips to keep her from falling back into the cold water and she looked at him. It wasn't that he wasn't used to having her this close to him, but the fact that she was hardly clothed made it different. But, any other girl that would have playfully tackled him like that would have left an uncomfortable feeling at this proximity and he wouldn't have even known how to respond, this was his best friend and somehow out of all his friends it was a girl that took that special place and was the most trusted person in his life, she should feel special for that. To answer her question, that he suddenly remembered, he thought and spoke the first thing that came to mind. I think I am. Just that openness you needed and the dependence that grew when he wanted to independent. Kieran squeezed a little where his hands were at her hips so that he would safely place her standing in front of him and not falling and losing balance. I feel like anyone that gets that close to me ends up hurt or... Dead. He was afraid of losing someone that close to him, he couldn't stand the thought of his heart breaking into a million little pieces and if he ended up with a family one day he couldn't stand losing that either. Maybe i'm not mean to find someone. He mused out loud as he reached into the shallow water in front of him to pick up a smooth rock to skip across the pond.

do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? In all her years she wondered about love, not the kind everyone of her close friends had for her, the platonic or unconditional. The kind that two people experienced, when they were romantically or passionately in love. It must have been nice to have someone care about you in that way. It was dreamy, bliss, something she couldn't comprehend of the top of her head. Harlequinn wondered if Kieran ever thought about his future in that way, but often he was too discouraged about his past, so she wasn't too sure if he had. Harley had always been a dreamer from as long as she could remember, she loved the thought of ball room dancing, and the thought of taking her children up the mountains, rock climbing. Sharing whatever she had with little offspring of her own. The orphan longed for family, and if she couldn't have a past with family, she'd have a future for sure. Harley was sure she didn't want that relationship where it was just to have children, she wanted the love, the support and passion that came with it. It all sounded so perfect the way she thought of it. Kieran was an orphan too, did he ever think that way? She never really stopped to ask him because she didn't want him to say something negative, about hurting one of his loved ones, or passing down the werewolf gene. Harley didn't think being a werewolf was a bad thing, it was a gift. Something that made him unique, even if it was dangerous or feared amongst others. She would never fear him, nor anything really for that matter. For the girl who had been hurt many times, abandoned and left she didn't like to hear negativity. Which was why she spend countless nights telling Kieran he was special, and perfect as he was.
Not picked out of the orphanage because she was damaged, she learned to accept the facts of her life. The way those parents would walk in, and see a little girl with light curly brown hair, and big blue eyes, giggling about. The way they would come and pick her up, and hold her tight, the hugs...and laughter. The way they would say that she was the one, and make her heart skip beats. The thought of actually being accepted with her very own family to love...then the facts. She had memory loss, and she was forgetful. A possible child with no progress in life, and the way they'd put her back with the rest, like she was unless. No one wanted the dysfunctional ones, and she come to accept that. The false hope hurt the most. Harley looked into the water thinking about the orphanage and all the nights she'd cry because of those harsh facts. Something she couldn't help made her useless, so she had always tried to cope with it, and accept the facts. Deep down she herself had broken pieces she didn't like like, but nothing could break her anymore. She wasn't in the same orphanage as Kieran, and when she came to school and learned he was an orphan as well, she felt that was her calling. If she was useless to everyone else, why not help the boy who longed for affection much like her own heart. Two of a kind, and that was why she tried so hard for him. Committed to being there, and talking to him after each change. Putting herself in danger to run by his side and make sure he didn't get hurt. It was her passion, and maybe this was why she had feeling for him. Her world wasn't scary with him by her side she felt infinite. At his words she shook her head. "Is not Kieran Greyback, nope." She said sticking out her tongue. She just had her own mood swing, and didn't realize it because he made her feel that way. Going from thinking about her younger years, to right now, it was amazing how he could change the darkest hours for her. Make her brave, and protective in one.
Harley cleared her mind after being splashed, and she jumped on him taking him into the water with her. She didn't want him thinking about fears and love all in one thought. She needed to clear his mind, and her playful approach was almost perfect. She could feel his warm body in between her legs, and she felt an urge to seize the moment and capture his lips, but decided against it. It was perfect, his hands tight on her hips in the water, just the scenario. Harley didn't feel awkward, but she knew he soon would, when he realized the closeness. When he began to answer she listened and frowned at his words. She knew why he was scared, but she didn't want him to be. It had only been his past that brought him such grief, and the guilt had consumed him til this very moment. He was scared to progress because he thought someone would get hurt, but it wasn't necessarily true. "Kieran.." She said softly being placed down. Harley bit her bottom lip and looked into his blue eyes for a moment. She could see the scars that were visable in his eyes, the heart yearning for acceptance. Harley took her finger tips and brought them to his cheek, and smiled warmly. "You will not hurt anyone getting close to them, you have control. Your a lot braver, and stronger then you were, when you were a boy. I believe in you, why don't you?" She asked, letting her fingertips gently fall from his face. In her eyes was truth, and a ray of sun light that brought a sparkle to her deep blue orbs. "You can't be along forever, and you can't always hold on to the past. The person for you may be closer then you think, and you'd never see it unless you open your eyes." She told him, backing up and letting herself sink into the water. She was used to it now, and even his statement about not being meant to find someone, made her heart sad, it didn't break her spirit.

Kieran had pretty much accepted the fact that he would probably die alone. Not completely alone, but alone in the sense of no romantic attachments and no family in descendents of his own. He was afraid of being responsible for turning his children into monsters and cursing their lives at some point whether it was conception or by accident. If he ever had a child that was a werewolf he didn't know what he would do because he would not wish that upon anyone and he knew how he felt about his own real father and how he became to be a werewolf just like himself and it just left him seething with anger from every pore and just hate toward that man. No, he was not a man but a monster and Kieran didn't want to be that. He had his brothers and sisters at the school, half-siblings, but other than that he had a couple close best friends and not much to his surprise he was still a bachelor. It was interesting because any Gryffindor, seventeen year old, athletic and fairly decent looking would have attracted some attention but his last name seemed to trump everything every time so in essence he had just about given up. However, that did not mean he was ungrateful for what he had. He had siblings, and he had a few close and real friends and he was happy to have anything to what he had growing up. The Orphanage hardly gave him any good friends, everyone was timid and scared and didn't want the pain of separation from those around them at some point so friends were difficult to come by. Especially at his orphanage where magical blood was present and the stories passed around.
Nobody wanted a Greyback child so he had accepted that rejection already. Why Harley had never been adopted he wasn't sure and really in comparison to his own afflictions he was baffled. She had this great smile and friendly composure and as she was pretty now he knew she was a cute child. She was just great to be around so he couldn't understand why nobody had wanted her, not that he had asked because it was a sad and touchy subject for the both of them. Kieran certainly enjoyed her company and she was one of the first to befriend him when everyone was scared of this scrawny little eleven year old boy on the train who was just as scared himself to be at this school where he felt more of of place than usual. Not that Kieran had any reason to reject her from his life but he was careful to not make her feel that way at all if he could help it, he knew the feeling well and as her best friend he would do his best to be supportive as she was for him. Maybe the world wasn't that scary but he knew people were scared of things they could not control. His disease made him feared and his name was just the cherry on top for some, people made their assumptions when really he just about the nicest guy you would ever meet and if he could help it he wouldn't hurt anybody. Big brown eyes looked at him as she disagreed with his view on the world, maybe he was just scared of himself and if he ever wanted to move forward he had to get over that. Everyday he struggled with the anchors of his past and history that made his walking forward a tremendous struggle but if anyone could make him smile on his worst days it was her.
Kieran normally didn't feel uncomfortable around her at all, whether she spend the night in his room because one or the other didn't want to be alone but then again she was fairly unclothed and it was different in this setting. She questioned him on his own self-confidence. In a split second he found himself getting defensive but then he stopped because she was right. He didn't move from his spot and his mind was traveling between his own thoughts and to even find an answer to that question. How could one find love if one didn't love themselves? Somewhere deep down inside he was still that little boy running in the forest, chest hurting from the cold air entering and exiting rapidly, the scent of fresh blood in the air and sheer terror in the background. Kieran was still that little boy and his panic attacks only proved that and his nightmares, he wished he could forget it and for that he envied Harley though she would grow angry with him if he ever told her that because he had the gift of memory. With a sigh he spoke, finally as she moved into the water behind her. The world doesn't want those like me. Werewolves and the like, or even just connected to Fenrir Greyback. I've never had anyone really believe in me, even at the Orphanage growing up. His childhood had been less than great despite the incident in the woods. The other children would hardly speak to him and the caretakers didn't see much in the bastard werewolf child. Kieran took a few steps forward as he descended deeper and deeper into the water. It was relaxing and was good for his aching body. At the same time he listened to her as she spoke more, though he looked up to the view of the tall trees from the forest and the sun shining through the branches.
I'm not alone, I have my brothers and sisters here. His pseudo-family, And I have you and my other friends. All of them combined meant more to him than they would ever know. Kieran waded closer to where Harley was, she was especially important to him and especially in his whole routine and important to his sanity overall here. You really have no idea what it means to me to have a friend like you. So even if he wasn't meant to find someone he was never technically alone.

do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? The thing that stood out most, when it came to Harley's friendship with Kieran, was the fact they both had issues with acceptance. As easy as it was to be cheery in nature and make friends, it wasn't all that easy for her to keep either. Harley was forgetful and clumsy, she'd often forget a name if the person wasn't too close to her. This made it difficult for her to maintain friendships, but she had done pretty well for herself, when making friends with Kieran. The loyalty they shared was great, she adored each moment with him. Harley had abandonment issues because she was given away for being dysfunctional. Never once did she picture it would follow her til this day. She was crafty, sweet and full of joy. All her professors said she was a joy to be around, so she never really got why she was never adopted. As optimistic as she was it was a bitter fact she had to live with. A fact like Kieran's, he was a werewolf and that made the adoption process harder for him. No to mention the off spring of a infamous death eater. Kieran deserved so much more in Harley's eyes, more love then anyone could give. He was sweet, gentle and harmless in her eyes. Her friend should have had the pleasure to rest assured, he was loved by a family.
Harley felt bad when thinking too much about the different struggles they both had endured. It was sad to think of the past, but look how far they had come. Harley was getting brief moments of her memory back, and being a prodigy child in CoMC, and Kieran was a prefect and was great in all his classes. Never once did she doubt they'd graduate and go on and do something great in life. She knew she'd stick by his side as long as he allowed her to. Best friends were forever. Harlequinn always tried to be as supportive as she could, but she hated when he became negative when speaking about himself. In her eyes he could do no wrong, and he had grown into a handsome, accomplished young man. Yeah he was torn around the edges, but that was what made him who he was. Naturally if people didn't concur their struggles in life, they wouldn't be who they were today. Harley was so proud of him, his anxiety wasn't as bad as it was years ago, and she felt he was doing better. Kieran had always been shy in her opinion, but she was glad he had made some friends around the school. The silence spread cross the water, and she wondered if she said something wrong. Kieran was quiet, and he seemed to be thinking on her comment about how he hadn't been the same small scared boy he used to be. Her comment wasn't meant to hurt him, she just wanted him to know what she saw, how she saw him.
The boy's words caused her eye to twitch slightly and she sighed. There was no breaking this boy's self consciousness. She often wondered how he was a Gryffindor without a boisterous ego. It was Kieran bravery was built in, but not when it came to his social life. It seemed he developed a social phobia actually. Harley shook her head, she wouldn't believe his words. "It doesn't matter who didn't believe in you in the past, I believe in you now. I'll never let you down" She promised him. The orphanages had so many children to worry about, there was no way they could be affectionate to all of the children. Kieran simply lacked that nurturing, he needed. It made her hurt inside, because she tried the best she could. Harley would just have to try harder, there was no failing when it came to her friend. She told Kieran he couldn't be a loner forever, and she didn't really word that correctly. She was glad when he realized he did have people that cared for him, both unconditionally and platonically. His final set of words caused her to blush and she smiled looking down into the water letting her hair cascade into her face. Harley didn't need him to flatter her, but she could take a compliment without getting too big headed.
The pale girl glanced up to meet eyes with Kieran. It meant a lot to have a friend like him as well, one who understood and didn't judge. Who was helpful, and never let her fall flat on her face. "It means almost as much as having a friend like you Kieran. I don't know where I'd be without you. I'd probably damn near go crazy by now." She teased trying to add a speck of humor into the serious conversation. If they didn't know they were best friends by now, they never would. She felt a chill go up her back, and she walked closer to him. "I'm kind of cold, you want to dry off and go back to the common room? We can get in our jamjams, and play with my paints and tell stories." Harley suggested. The water was getting a bit colder and she wasn't a werewolf uneffect, when she could feel it piercing her numb skin. Harley grinned a bit and nudged him playfully. "I have chocolate." She mused with a wink, trying to add to her suggestion. Things were working in his life right now and if he had ever learned anything it was that change, especially sudden change, was never a good thing and if he did have to change something it needed to proceed with the caution of moderation and patience. Kieran had patience, it was ingrained because he was forced to hold back all the time. His emotions were in some deep and dark place within his soul because he just wanted to hide them and having hidden them for this long he was afraid of what would happen if he let them out. Connecting with people was not usually his thing, if he was ever comfortable it was sitting outside in the sunshine, the light breeze blowing across his face and the trees moving silently if at all. Just pure peace and no judgment and he felt at a home. There were always exceptions, one of his last major panic attacks his brother had found him in a clearing all but writhing out of his skin and as pale as a ghost, he remembered looking into that clearing and only seeing blood there where it wasn't. The blood of his past was still staining the innocent grass in front of him and he couldn't get rid of it. That was just an extreme moment and a truly upsetting one because it was just a step back, Harley helped him most of the time but he wasn't sure if she would have been able to help him then, he didn't know what would help him at all. Like her missing memory he wished he could find it and put it back for her but he didn't know how and he didn't like the helpless feeling against those he cared about, almost as much as being helpless to his disease and that it didn't discriminate victims.
There was this irony that her best subject was Care of Magical Creatures, he was a sort of creature himself and whether she took the subject because of him or her natural talent he knew she was gifted and would make a name for herself in this world and create new memories that she would cherish instead of dwelling the missing past she wanted. Kieran would remind her of that all the time and she seemed optimistic but he could see the lingering want in her eyes of that past, at least that's what he thought he saw but he could only be there to support her. She was probably the nicest Gryffindor you would ever meet and they were a bit different because they had Gryffindor qualities that were not shoving how awesome they were down people's throats. Kieran would never be James Potter, but he wondered what made him a Gryffindor. Courage? Bravery? A moral standpoint? Sometimes he wished he wasn't because he felt like he was being put up against standards that he could not meet and maybe Ravenclaw was his place as he was studious and loved to read but lacked the competitive nature of academics that they shared. So Slytherin it should have been, he could wrap his mind around complex situations and for the most part his reserved nature let him be a ghost with a famous name. Could he fit in with the cunning crowd and their sly and devious natures? Wasn't he doing that already? Hiding from the world in plain sight though the truth was known. Houses were irrevelent, however, when the world only saw the spawn of a monster that used to and probably still did terrorize the world. He had his siblings here at school but who knew how many more existed and would exist in the future.
Kieran smiled, the reassurance was nice. I know you won't... Kieran hardly depended on people for his own well-being, but she was an exception. As rock of emotional stability he would definitely limp, stumble and fall if she decided not to be in his life anymore. He didn't have to hide from her and she still smiled at him the same way she did as when they first met, though it made him cautious at times at what he told her because he didn't want her to worry. That last panic attack, for example, she didn't know about and he knew she would get a little worked up over it because it had been so severe but he had not been alone through it. Even his brothers and sisters had trouble comprehending his troubled mind and past but he did not want to burden them with it. Contemplating whether she would have been better off without him, he wasn't sure what to think about that but he knew that she deserved the best and one day she would find that whether it was a great life or a great boy. Now that he thought about it he'd never really seen her date anyone, and he found it a shock because she was beautiful and surely suitors would have come knocking at some point. Kieran came back to reality on the fact that they were standing in cold water, he didn't feel it but he had to remind himself that she wasn't like him and the water must have been freezing by now. Oh. Yea, of course. I'm sorry, I forget sometimes. Kieran turned and smiled at her suggestion, they sat and talked all the time and everyone seemed accustomed to the two relatively quiet inhabitants of the Gryffindor Tower.
His dorm mates were accustomed to seeing her up there all the time and didn't think too much about it because they saw the platonic nature of their relationship. Talk of being in comfortable clothing and relaxing, even chocolate was nice and it would be an afternoon like normal, nothing new and nothing out of the ordinary until he had to make his Prefect rounds later that night, but they had time. Sure, sounds like a great idea. He began walking forward and toward where the water ended and he looked behind him to see if she was going to follow him.

do you catch a breath, when i look at you? are you holding back, like the way i do? All the thoughts of sadness had her straying away, from her normal cheery personality. Harley didn't like to think about the orphanage, she didn't like thinking about being the screwed up kid. The thought of Kieran's past, and the trauma he endured made her almost broken. She hadn't been through it, but she felt like she was the light at the end of the tunnel for him. Harley did like Kieran a lot, more then any other boy in the world. She was positive he cared for her, just not in the way she wanted him to. She accepted what they had, and she wouldn't change it. She kept everything honest with him, with the exception of her crush. When laying beside him, she couldn't help the fact her mind wondered, but more then that, she felt safe. Harley was sure he was pretty, not as pretty as some, but she wasn't bad looking. She was the type of girl that didn't know how pretty she was, and she was a giddy little thing, if any boy said something remotely close to flirting with her. Someday she'd grow up and want to have a life. A special one, with a loving husband and children of her own. Because she suffered as a child, she'd work extra hard to be a good mother, and never allow her children to feel hurt or abandoned as she once did. She'd love for that life to be with Kieran, but she guessed she couldn't count on that. At least not now.
Harlequinn was cold, and she smirked at his comment about forgetting she wasn't like him. No, Harley was not a werewolf, but she was one at heart. Her heart belonged with with one, therefore in her mind she was one as well. "Unfortunately, there is that teeny weeny difference." She said softly. She wondered if she asked Kieran to be turned would he do it, of course he thought the negativity of the werewolf curse, but she always wondered what it would be like. It must have been hard, she witnessed it constantly. It was just another thing to think about. Harley took his hand in her's and walked up to the sand. She felt it squish between her toes, and she looked at Kieran. "I'm glad we spent this time together, I have a long night of fun planned." She mused nudging him playfully. Harley had a couple tricks up her sleeve. Harley had a bottle, and since it was practically the weekend she didn't mind having a drink with her best friend. She knew she'd be safe, and be able to stay with him for the night, which got her more excited. Harlequinn knew Kieran liked vodka, and she always had a bottle for him the next morning after the full moon, to help him deal with the pain. It would be a normal drinking session, it was about that time of the month, for them to go a little crazy.
Harley put on her sundress and carried her shoes back to the castle. She leaned on Kieran as they walked, feeling the heat from his body engulf her own. When they finally got inside, the two went to the Gryffindor tower. She spoke the password to the fat lady, and complimented her dress. Harley liked making the pictures smile, it was part of her quirky personality. When they were both in the common room she turned to Kieran. "Shower, jamjams, and I'll meet you in your dorm with the supplies and a little something to spice up our night." She told him with a wink. Harley walked off the the female dormitory and gathered her shower supplies. Detty had helped her own with some good shampoo and a conditioner, and this was probably why her hair fell to her backside. Harley quickly showered washing away the lake water, and walked to her sleeping area. She put on a white tank top and her pink boy shorts. Looking herself over in the mirror she winked playfully. She shirt may have been almost see through, and her shorts were very short, but she didn't care. She tossed her hair up, and grabbed her art supplies and the bottle of vodka, with glasses and broke for Kieran's dorm. She walked in and sat on his bed, awaiting his return. Harley opened the bottle and grinned sniffing it. It burned her nose, but she was happy to have it. She felt a bit alluring as she laid down on his bed taking in his scent. As she laid sprawled out she wondered if he was in for a night of fun, of course he was, she reminded herself biting her bottom lip awaiting his return.

When Harley accompanied him on the full moon nights he lived in fear of each and every one of them. Not only was she in danger of other creatures in the night but worst of all him and the pack he rode with. Merlin forbid one of them, or he accidentally attacked her and if she survived the mauling she would forever be branded a werewolf. It wasn't something he was comfortable with nor he was he sure he could live with that. Still, he didn't know what was worse in that situation: Harley being taken from him, or living on as a werewolf. Somehow she had talked him into being allowed to accompany him and even help more than she already did but he still thought about it but didn't have the heart to tell her no. It would probably break her little heart and in no means did he want her to feel that she wasn't wanted or wasn't being helpful because she really was and he had little foundation without her there. There was that difference and really it was a big difference to most of the population but it was just another flag for his hat and another chapter in his book and something he would just live with and deal with. It wasn't something he wanted for her, it wasn't safe and he wondered how other people dealt with this in their lives without the savagery and evil that he was born from. "Normal" people, he figured, that had werewolves in their lives but not the emotional detachment and scarring of his namesake. They reached the sand and he stopped so he could dry off, There's more? He figured they would just relax with a swim and then something else simple but she had thought this through more than he had.
Kieran grabbed his wand, and his clothing and put them on so he could get back in the castle looking decent. Harley stuck to his side as they walked back and he was used to this gesture because of his body warmth and during these seasons she would do that for her frame was small and he wasn't surprised she got cold easily. The lake water, according to her, had been mildly freezing so he wanted to get back inside or she would catch a cold. Finally, they arrived at the tower and made it past the painting that complimented Harley and she seemed to beam a smile past the friendly face that had seen them grow up here in the tower. The tower was pretty empty and that wasn't a surprise considering homework, quidditch and other extra curricular activities going on and at least it was quiet for them. Kieran nodded at her list of things to do, a shower would have been refreshing as the lake water was hardly as clean as the bath waters and he liked his little moments of privacy that he got where he could think and clear his head. Today, so far, had been fun not that he didn't like spending time with Harley. It might have been his mood or something else that he didn't know but he just felt good about that day and knew that whatever they did it would be fun and another memorable experience to keep and another one for her to remember. Kieran climbed the steps to his empty dorm and gather his supplies, shampoo, soap, towel and change of clothing and headed to the showers. The warm water helped soothe his aching muscles and his body seemed to be constantly sore from Quidditch or from his transformations. Turning off the water and drying himself he put on his pajama pants which were the loose and comfortable and that way he had something on when he walked back in.
Just as he had suspected she was already waiting for him when he walked back to the dorm, his towel slung over his shoulder and he placed his shower supplies where he always left them. Well, that as fast. You did shower, right? A joke on the fact that he was patient and took his time with things while she would be running circles at times. The bottle was on his nightstand and he threw his towel on a nearby chair to dry while he found a clean t-shirt to put on. In the meantime he did steal a glance where his friend was laying comfortable on his bed and the poor excuse for shorts she was wearing but he didn't linger. This was the second time he had caught himself aside from the sight of her in a bikini. While he didn't want to admit it, his best friend was a girl and a rather pretty one. But, it was his best friend and that was territory that he didn't wander into. Kieran ruffled his damp hair and sat down on the end of his bed where her feet were, eyeing the bottle she brought him. Not that Kieran was a party animal by anyone's standards, but he did like his drinks and like the adventurous eighteen and seventeen year old that they were he liked where this was going so far. What did you bring me? The light in the window was fading by this point as the sun was starting to set. Had they spent that much time outside? Sometimes their minutes were actually hours and the more he wasn't stuck in his head the better.

a drop in the ocean, a change in the weather i was praying that you and me might, end up together Harley hadn't spent this much time with Kieran in a couple weeks. She was so wound up in her CoMC studies, she only really saw him at night. It was saddening to her when she wasn't there, so she planed this day just for them. It had gone by seemingly well thus far, and she was happy they got a chance to talk. Even if the topics were emotional she wouldn't rather have them with anyone else. No one could make Harley think as much as Kieran, she was pretty careless most of the time. When it came to Kieran things were important, and the two could have deep conversations and be honest with one another. She lived for that honesty, loved it with all she was. Harley forced him to accept the fact she wasn't going anywhere when he needed her. Kieran may have not wanted her in danger, when running with the wolves, but she did it anyways. She enjoyed helping him, and being there to comfort him through the bone breaking process. Harley felt strongly for him, protective and loyal. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her friend. She was positive about that.
The two made their way back to the castle, and she was in a bit of a rush because she was cold and wet with icky water. Harley loved the lake, she just hated when it matted her hair together, and the smell wasn't too appealing either. When she got to her dorm she showered. One thing she learned being an orphan was to be quick when washing up. She had took cold showers for the simple fact others took too long. She knew the castle always had enough hot water to go around, but it was a force of habit. When she was finished she got dressed into her pajamas, she always had rather sexy pjs, but she didn't mind wearing them. She liked to be comfortable, and her body heated up when she would lay with Kieran. His body heat made it almost impossible to need clothing when sleeping beside him. The Gryffindor girl made her way to his dorm, where she waited patiently for him to finish his shower. It was a little sad she was a female and took less time in there then he did, but the thought caused her to giggle. Harley laid on her back putting her feet in the air. She cocked her head and wiggled her toes before being caught off guard by Kieran. She looked at his muscular, shirtless figure walked toward her and she swallowed hard. The way his pants loosely hugged his hips, and those v-lines made her heart flutter a bit. When he spoke she chuckled at his joke. "Of course I did. You on the other hand, I was hoping you didn't drown, or fall in the toilet." She teased with a cheeky grin.
Blue eyes glanced to the window for a moment and she watched the sun setting. It was inspiring, and she loved the cascade of colors. Kieran asked what she brought him and she grinned. "Vodka, and paints." She said sheepishly. She grabbed the bottle and poured them each a glass, handing him his own. Harley took her cup and toasted it with his, the sound of hard plastic cups clinking against one another. "I thought it would be nice to have a wild night, you know it's close to the full moon. I figured it'd be nice to mellow out, here's to us." She said before taking her first drink of the liquor. The sting burned her throat all the way down. She hated the first could drinks, but after those it got easier. Harlequinn looked to her supplies. She felt inspired by the sunset and she figured that was where she could start on her painting. She didn't really want to spend all night being artsy, but she needed to do a little just to get it out of her system.
Creativity - she loved this side of her, and more the side in Kieran, she enjoyed sharing her work with him, and seeing his in return. It was pretty amazing to see what beauty would lie in the master eye of the artist. She set them up a couple canvasses and started to toss out paints. When he finally joined her she handed him a brush. The paints were scattered around the blanket, and a cup of water to wash away colors was beside each of them. Harley was always prepared. When ever she got little images from her past, those memories that crept through she'd stop where ever she was and begin to pain. Adding up the pieces in her dorm room, late night. Harley smiled and looked into Kieran's eyes, those were very inspiring most of the time, if only he knew of the picture she was working on of him. He may think she was a bit off, but the way they were crossed with blues and greys had made her feel emotion. His story was told through those eyes of his, and maybe some day she'd puck up the courage to show him her perception of him. Harley began to squirt paint on her palette, she dabbed her brush in the blue paint, and dotted his nose. "You ready to be creative Kieran?" she asked with a quirk of her eyebrow. She was always ready to paint.
