- - - - - - - - - - - - Directly after dinner Albus made his way to the dungeons. It was time to try and focus on some of the homework he had missed. Yes, it was official he was losing his mind, he skipped a homework assignment and would suffer a letter grade. How was this even possible? Albus had, had so much on his mind recently he didn't know where to begin and where to finish. Boys, why did it feel like he bit off more then he could handle? It was like he was stuck in the middle with nothing but confusion. Blatantly he spoke the password entering his common room. Albus made his way to his dormitory, which was empty. Thank Merlin, he thought, no distractions. Albus walked over to his bed and pulled out his books for Transfiguration. Albus opened the book and flipped to where he should have been reading along with the class if he were not so caught up in his thoughts. Nonverbal spells, this should be interesting, he thought. His aqua eyes skimmed over the pages as he tried to take in the knowledge. Albus looked over to his window looking into the dark water. The boy wondered if the creatures every peeked in at night. No, Distraction! Albus thought looking back to the page in his book.
As the evening went on he could hear the students gathering down in the common room. Al checked his stop watch noting it was now past curfew. Curfew, he had only broken it a couple times before being a prefect, then he had a general excuse for being out. Patrolling, he didn't mind it, though he encountered some rude students on his duties. No one liked to get caught, and he knew no one wanted their house to suffer losing points. It all depending on the circumstances how he'd dish punishment. Albus was kind to those who would admit to being restless, or needed some alone time. Yet those who were known trouble makers and liked to get into mischief were the ones he was out to write up. Then came the attitudes and the snappy replies. Yet he couldn't fully blame them, nor couple they blame him. It was his job after all.
Albus got up from his bed placing his well written detailed piece of parchment aside. The boy got into his navy blue, plaid pajama pants and a large, long sleeved white shirt, he took from Ben. Albus enjoyed swimming in the clothes of his boyfriends when dating, yet now it was just because it was simply comfortable. Or that was what he was trying to remind himself. It was stressful, missing Ben and being caught up with new feelings for his best friend. Consequences if one was chosen over the other. One on hand he could lose his best friend who was always there for him, and on the other he could lose his first love, and protector. A sigh escaped his lips as he ruffled his messy black hair. Things were very complex in the love category of his life and he wished it would all go away. The pain, the tears. Albus was well aware that his roommates were probably fed up with him weeping at night. The small boy got back on his bed and looked over his assignment. Albus went through and added any small details he could think of before he rolled up the parchment putting it in his bag.
Albus missed being reckless, the nights he spent drinking and loose, and the ones where he smiled and couple be silly. Not to mention he could flirt and speak how he chose, and didn't need to over analyze the next day, the boy needed one of those nights. When his blood would turn into alcohol and he could feel love without worry. Weird how he could feel like that, he looked over at the small teddy bear on bed and smirked laying back. A couple of his dorm mates entered and he didn't pay any mind to them. It was finny how times passed so quickly, it was almost Easter holiday, Al wasn't looking forward to it. There was no escape from his brother's best friend, and his own at that point. The castle and all being placed in different houses was a bonus in these standings. It often felt like he was at a crossroads with no clue what path to take. Often he wondered if he could just back up and not progress.
The conversation of the room found his ears and peeked his interests. It was very true, Slytherin might be able to win the house cup this year, however with all the prefects taking things serious, he wondered how bad his house would suffer. A lot of the Slytherin students were trouble makers, whom were out past curfew. Albus glanced around the room and noticed a couple of his dorm mates were missing. Just great, he got up from bed and put on his wool socks and slippers and made his way to the common room. Albus glanced around for a moment and sucked his teeth. Tonight he would go on a hunt, not a patrol. Albus exited the common room and made his way to the main level of the castle.
"If I were a troublemaker where would I be?" Albus whispered softly, out loud. Albus remembered there was a new shipment of books, quills and ink, for use after Easter. No one would tamper with them, he hoped but to make sure he'd go where he knew them to be safe. Albus searched the empty classrooms on the lower levels first. It would make sense because they were often used for storage purposes. Making his way up the floors slowly. Once he hit the sixth he looked to the floor then a noise caused him to look up. Albus narrowed his aqua eyes and made his way toward the noise, his hand placed on his wand. Once he made his way to the door he put his hand on the nob opening it slowly exposing the dark empty class room. "Lumos Maxima" Albus chimed his wand lighting up the room and there his eyes fell on Aiden Vaisey. "Your very predictable, you know that?" Albus asked walking over the the crates where the new books for Ancient Ruins were stored. Albus looked for any signs of vandalism. There were none, Albus chewed the inside of his cheek, and turned to face the older boy. "Well, em...your still out past curfew you know that, give me a good reason I shouldn't write you up for a detention, yeah." Albus stated folding his arms over his chest, his face held an unamused look as he waited for an excuse of sorts.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
Was there mischief to be caused this evening or anywhere for that matter? Maybe but Aiden hadn't quite felt up to it, he had some ideas but in general he had just wanted to escape the cold and mundane surroundings of the Slytherin Common Room. Sleep had been evasive for he was not sued to even being in his bed that early or at least not to sleep but his dorm mates were hardly the quite ones. The sixth and seventh year boys in his sleeping area were always talking or up to something and for some reason Aiden could not understand how they would forget to use magic to be courteous. Even he knew that a simple charm would leave the rest of the dorm undisturbed to any activities in there. That was something that he knew from personal experience whether it was a Slytherin boy or girl he was entertaining in his room or just to have some peace and quiet for once. With his hands in his pockets he briskly walked in the dungeons, his footsteps barely making a noise to echo in these cold caverns and before entering the rest of the castle he looked around to make sure there were not any professors around or Prefects and the like. His head of house had, not the previous day, given him a stern lecture after Transfiguration class about the House Cup and all that importance and House Points and all that jazz. It was nonsense to his ears but he played along and played the part of suddenly reformed trouble maker in order to get him off his back. What a prick, he couldn't stand him mos to of the time and he was sure that the feeling was mutual. Was the man not a student years ago while Aiden was first at Hogwarts and now he was in charge of his House.
With a liberal pace he strolled, taking back corridors and staircases not paying much mind to where he was going because seven years later he knew the castle and it's corridors like the back of his hand. To most it was chilly in the castle currently outside the Common Rooms and their warm fires but he had his school shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows and his tie was loosened and his shirt untucked for comfort ,he hadn't bothered to change yet and really he hadn't planned on it yet. His time in the Common Room had been brief if only to make an appearance for an alibi if needed, his friends there would cover for him as best they could, they stuck together like that and with him it was expected as he would do the same. Turning the corner he slipped into the shadows of the stone wall next to suits of armor and stood still there, calmly waiting for the Hufflepuff prefects to pass him as they giggled and gossiped away and payed no attention to their surroundings. As soon as Aiden heard that they had turned the corner he stepped forward into the corridor and walked down until he reached the last empty classroom in the hallway and stepped inside, quietly closing the door behind him. It was his honest opinion that he should have been made a Prefect if only to catch all the troublemakers after dark, he knew their hiding places and their secrets and how they got around the castle. And as it was said there is no honor among thieves, not that he was a thief but his skills would certainly be put to better use than sitting in detention at least twice a week.
The room was empty except for desks and crates of what appeared to be books. Approaching he lifted the lid of one and saw it was for Ancient Runes. Well, he doubted that anyone would miss these at all if something were to happen. This was the quiet time he needed and as he walked behind a few of the crates to where there was a cupboard he pulled out a bottle of firewhiskey he had placed there a while back and sat at one of the free desks, pouring himself a glass as he had hidden those there as well and he leaned back in his chair carefully and placed his feet on the table so he could relax. The first sip was smooth and refreshing. This was his mischeif for the night and he thought about his life and the happenings in the castle. It was easy to hear about what was happening and in the midst of the previous Valentine's day there was even more happening with the students. Pucey seemed to be on the edge of society as he was being pushed away from whatever girl he was seeing at the time, even the one that was always following him around. There were other rumors as well and even with his dorm mates he heard their stories as they stayed up late into the night. The room was barely lit and that was fine with him as he hadn't wanted to attract attention, however he heard the door open and soon it was bright as day in there and he saw those familiar blue eyes glaring at him. Well the jig was up, but he barely moved only to look at one of the boys that slept in his dorm and was one of the ones the he knew something had happened to but he did not know what.
And be the one that loses their own house the House Cup for handing out a detention? Aiden set his glass down and leaned his chair back forward so his feet were planted solidly on the ground. Those blue eyes kept looking at him, they were a beautiful color and behind the guise of authority he was showing him there was this sadness and vulnerability he saw in them. This boy that stood with his arms crossed like a disappointed Professor was also the one that kept up his dorm the past nights upset over Merlin knew what. Standing up he walked over back to the cupboard and grabbed another glass before walking back around the crates to his desk. Well, look at you Mr. Prefect. You weren't looking so tough the other day. Aiden placed the glass opposite him the desk and it should have signaled to the boy to take a seat. He didn't hate Albus, in fact they got along and besides the fact that he could recognize his cuteness and innocence that was something opposite of his own character and it intrigued him. Can't I bribe you? He motioned with his hand to the bottle of whiskey. Always worth a shot. And he remembered seeing the boy upset the other day in the Common Room and it was certainly a different sight, there weren't many Slytherin boys that were so keen on showing so much emotion if they could help it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - It was certainly going to be an interesting night. Albus had recalled a couple days back when he had last saw Aiden. Actually the tears that filled his eyes made it quite blurry, yeah he could tell by voice whom the boy was. Who could forget that voice? Albus could remember a few nights of indirect flirting, he always tend to keep those who made his cheeks hurt from smiling foolishly, in his thoughts. Never anything serious, yet it was nice to know he wasn't alone in his house with his sexual preference. Aiden had that whole bad boy thing going for him as well, which to someone like Albus was a slight turn on. Though Albus would never admit it, as he wouldn't now. Rules that were broken should serve some kind of punishment right? It was the natural order after all. Albus listened to the boys words and quirked an eyebrow. Of course Albus told himself he cared about that stupid house cup, but he wasn't sure Slytherin was worthy of it. The boy had let a lot slide when it came to this constant excuse. For a boy misplaced in the house, he could care less most of the time. "Try me." Albus stated his face straight, still unamused.
Albus kept an eye on the boy wondering if he intending on trying to escape the situation. Most knew Albus' asthma condition wouldn't have him running down the halls, to catch up with the apposed trouble maker. Albus could only imagine waking up in the hospital wing, looking over wondering what happened. Then coming to find out, he had an asthma attack from chasing someone on a patrol. Merlin, the sound of it was foolish enough. Albus looked to the glass and bottle that sat on the desk. Being intoxicated and strayed away from his negative thoughts would be nice, yet he had to hold his ground. When the older boy returned he listened to the words that cut him deep inside, like a knife with the dullest point. Albus let his hands drop to his sides, and became slightly insecure. "I don't need to be tough, I am simply doing what I am appointed to do." Albus explained. By any means he wasn't a tough guy, he was timid, and unsure of himself, if anything. Albus wouldn't be tough unless he had to be, and this included pushing all his emotions aside, which were over whelming at times. The other night he was broken more then one could imagine. There wasn't really anyone who would relatively understand his withdrawals from Ben. Nor would they understand the consequences of losing his best friend due to the fact he still scared. Albus was a mess of emotions, he grew feelings rapidly and wished they would just go away sometimes.
"The other night, I was stronger, or tougher as you put it, then you can imagine. We'll leave it at that." Albus explained rubbing his wrist absently. Albus was one to break down and take things out on himself when he didn't understand his powerful emotions. There were many nights after his father had past that he would have ended up dead if it wasn't for Lily. She kept his secret, as did Frankie. With the price he couldn't self harm when things became overbearing, or scary. Albus must have been staring into thought for a while, he snapped himself from it and walked over sitting beside Aiden. Over all he wasn't thrilled with the boy bringing up his dismay but maybe deep down he needed to analyze it. Albus needed to remember relationships and getting hurt was part of life. At least he never loved someone that didn't love him back. Things could get worst. The only thing he wanted to keep was friendship and order in his life.
His aqua eyes skimmed over the bottle and he smirked slightly. Bribe him? Albus was easily bribed with those pretty brown eyes and that dimpled smile, yet alcohol was a close second. "This seems hypercritical." Albus explained taking the glass as he kept his eyes locked with the boy's. "Fuck it, I could use a drink and a night to loosen up, in return you will not be seeing the library, which books are very unorganized, if I may add so bluntly." Albus explained knowing one of the detention punishments that was well needed. Albus watched the caramel colored liquid poured into the glass as he took in a breath and exhaled softly. Albus brought the glass to his nose sniffing the harsh drink before he brought the glass to his lips. "I may warn you, I can be well..a little..em..odd when I drink. Far off, from what you'd normally expect from me. " Albus explained, he was feeling daring himself. Thank Merlin, he was not an emotional drunk, his flirtatious promiscuous natures stood as those. Albus didn't mind as long as he was around someone he could trust. As far and he and Aiden went they knocked heads on occasion, but they were decent friends. "Just keep an eye on me, yeah?" Albus asked before taking a nice long drink from the glass. The burn was satisfying, as he looked to Aiden content.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
Aiden was one that had little regard for the rules, they were merely recommended guidelines in his mind and he really just didn't want to follow them. There was something about authority or just being told what to do that never sat well with him. Potter was trying to intimidate the older boy into listening to him using his Prefect powers and it was mere pebbles being thrown at his iron armor. It was clear that he was unamused and he wouldn't be one to worry so much about the House Cup, how Albus had ended up in Slytherin was really beyond Aiden's understanding as he seemed to fit in more into the Ravenclaw setting. Even late at night on the weekends when they would return from their village visits he would be in his pajamas, on his bed with his nose in a book. Then again there was always that saying about the quiet ones and what you didn't know they were capable of so this left him only rather curious if anything toward the younger boy and Aiden could only flash him a smile and take a drink from his half empty glass. Was he feeling brave today? Aiden always felt brave, maybe he should have been in Gryffindor instead of Slytherin but then again he was much more cunning than brave, really he just didn't care about the boundaries that the rules set gave the students and he didn't care to be told what to do. In that regard he was like his mother, however she was more adventurous in the party scene when she was his age hence his initial conception, but he was a bit more careful than that.
It would have been easy to just leave, run down the hall and end up back in the dungeons before Potter could bat an eye. Sure they were friends and dorm mates, but he couldn't do anything to him if he was in the Common Room already and not out in the rest of the castle causing supposed trouble. And it was clear by his height advantage that he would easily outrun him, those years of Quidditch did a body good. Clearly Aiden's words hit Albus and touched a sensitive nerve rather quickly. Raising an eyebrow slightly he noticed this and would keep it in mind, sometimes you needed an entrance to get under people's skin and have your way. Maybe this was his open door. So I have been told by many before you. Sarcasm, his defense and his mouth that got him in trouble. How many times had he heard from other Prefects or even the Head Boy and Girl that it was only their job, their duty and nothing personal. He never intended these things to be personal as he didn't break the rules for anybody except his own pleasure. Albus' defense peaked his interest, what had happened to this boy to hurt him so much and to leave the affect still visible in his eyes. Those blue eyes he had seen filled with tears and sorrow, empty with sadness and despair. Aiden had felt for the boy, he really did. Contrary to popular belief he was not heartless and would rather not see people suffer if they hadn't earned it. And as far as he was concerned Albus was harmless in the the sense that he hadn't been deserving of such treatment from whomever was the culprit in this case. Fair enough.
Who was he to demand the story, though if Albus did accept his alcohol invitation the story might reveal itself in due time and he was a patient man. You continue to surprise me, Albus. I never figured you for a rebel. Maybe one with a cause of some kind, he was as Aiden was to wander around aimlessly breaking rules just for the shear practice of it. Aiden nodded in appreciation, that was the last place he would have wanted to spend detention, he'd rather organize the Potions rooms or something similar, just no books for him. He listened to Albus' warning and looked inquisitive, As compared to what Albus? A joke, of course. He was not that odd ordinarily . Everybody had their alternate personality when they were intoxicated and even Aiden was no exception when he reached that point however that tolerance level was considerably high as he spent many nights drinking in this castle. Why else would he hide his stash in an empty classroom versus the common room, though he did have some there as well. Now he was just curious and he wanted to see the naturally quiet boy in this state of freedom that the liquor would bring him. Don't worry, i'll keep you out of trouble. Aiden smiled warmly at him, he wasn't one to get others in trouble and this could be their little secret. It was about time he spread the joy and fun of late night activities to those so used to enforcing the rules. Finishing his own glass and grabbing the bottle to refill, he looked at him again wondering what those blue eyes would tell him next.
Reading people was something he had been good at it and acquired more familiarity from it over time, and when he looked at Albus it was no exception. So tell me Albus, what brought you looking for me tonight? By the look of his pajamas patrolling had not been on his agenda and therefore there was a different explanation.

- - - - - - - - - - - - Albus would let the alcohol engulf his body and act for it. It had been a couple weeks since he last had a drink, and perhaps this was a good thing. Albus didn't need some kind of brain numbing substance to fix himself. The boy needed faith and to learn to accept what was going on. Love didn't always mean there was a happy ending, and it there was always a possibility, one would get hurt. It was risky, and impulsive to fall in love and scary all in itself. Albus looked around the room for a moment holding his glass in his hand. It always felt as if he were staring off for a century so he diverted his gaze back to Aiden. When Aiden have him the statement of he had been told my many prefects before they didn't mean to hand out discipline, he looked down. Being typical was something he wasn't. It wasn't like he enjoyed seeking out those who disobeyed the rules of the castle. Albus didn't ask to be a prefect, ye he was striving to be head boy next year. In his mind he could accomplish anything, with the exception of true love. The boy would move on and be great in life. Most prefects move on to be aurors and hit wizards, not Albus he wanted more then that. Yet that would come, tonight he was living the moment.
Falling from the topic of his strength, he listened to Aiden's words and smirk. No Albus Potter was not a rebel, he was manic and enjoyed different settings at times but not a rebel. Though he could be. Yet what would he rebel against, the fact he felt pressured daily. That he felt is he made one mistake he could lose it all? That was enough in it's self. Albus skimmed his bottom lip with his front teeth a few times looking over Aiden. "Well I wouldn't say all that, I'd stick with I enjoy being different at times, I'd have no set reason to rebel. I just like to cut loose and have fun sometimes. If that makes me a rebel then I assume it could be true." Albus explained, he always had to make logic of assumptions. Even if they were sarcastic. Albus, himself was sarcastic, so he knew there was always some truth behind the language. Albus warned Aiden about his drunk tendencies, and at the boy's words he chuckled, taking another sip of his drink. "Well I'm not that weird, I guess sometimes I can be a little too open about myself, but odd, I guess maybe a little. However, this type of odd, is something different." Albus explained standing up as he walked to the front of the desk and took a set on top of it letting his feet dangle. When drinking he'd rather be comfortable and be able to observe his surroundings.
At Aiden's assurance he'd keep Albus out of trouble the boy took his drink bad finishing his first glass. The whiskey burning all the way down, now more soothingly warm. "We'll see about that, I can be a handful." Albus mused with a wink holding his glass out for Aiden to fill it. When obliged he listened to the boys question and narrowed his eyes. Albus was now in a playful mood. The boy rocked his feet back and forth under the desk and sipped his drink placing it beside himself. The boy hopped off the desk and walked over to where Aiden had been sitting, he traced his finger tips along the boys jawline and bit his bottom lip, looking deep into the boys brown orbs. "Well I expected something romantic, for you to sweep me off my feet, and we could spend the night being mischievous, creating an ever lasting bond, memories, and killing the tension, of bliss passion." Albus mused dramatically as he chuckled, blowing his cover. The boy walked over grabbing his glass and took a sip looking to Aiden. "I just heard the boys in the dorm speaking about the house cup, I really don't care if we win it. It just made me think of you, so I went on a patrol and here I am." Albus admitted bluntly as he shrugged. "Yet we could always go with the first one if you like, yet I don't think I'm dressed for the occasion." Albus teased scrunching his nose, grinning. When with Aiden, he enjoyed the feeling of being carefree. It was nice to have this change after all he had been going though.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
When he had embarked on is little adventure out of the dungeons he hadn't anticipated acquiring an company on the way here and he really had been seeking some alone time just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily activities here and just from the normal noise and commotion of the Slytherin Common Room. You would think that the Gryffindors or even the Hufflepuff were the talkative ones but they obviously had never been inside the Slytherin Common room and listened to such obnoxious characters who would daily get on their soapbox and preach their status above everybody else. Aiden had never been one to judge outside of character as he had no room to judge or anything that gave him special privilege to, and that was for the better. There seemed to be some contemplative behavior on his friend's mind and he wondered what kept it so occupied. It might not have been his business, but eventually he heard what happened or even saw things around the castle while on his midnight strollings. However, he had yet to run into this one outside of avoiding him on patrols, but he was curious if there was anything underneath the surface that would have surprised the world. Not a dull moment in the life of a Potter, and he didn't envy that attention for it only made him infamous. Not a rebel without a cause? That was more Aiden if he had to describe himself, he didn't cause trouble for one sole purpose but only for the purpose of causing trouble because he could get away with it.
Aiden couldn't get away with the same remarks he might have given some dim-witted professors or other students, this boy had a brain and yet had ended up in the same house of children of those his father had once fought. What was it about Albus Potter that made him a Slytherin? And that was the mystery that surrounded him and made it less likely that he was innocent at all. Well I suppose it's alright as long as you don't sit here and cry the entire time. Nobody liked an emotional drunk, sometimes life stories did have a habit of being told and tears being shared but there was nothing appealing of seeing someone so drunk they sobbed themselves into a perpetual dehydration the entire time. Hopefully he wasn't or that comment had no place, but either way he had chosen to stay here so it was his choice to manage against Aiden's words, whatever they may be. However, contrary to what most people thought about him he was not heartless and would have taken some pity on his friend if the occasion called for it. Albus moved from his chair to where he saw on the table next to the bottle and from where Aiden still sat in his chair, his own glass was half empty again. The burning of the liquid down his throat was almost insignificant anymore and there were very few still left in the castle that could drink as he did and he wondered what they were up to, the old friends he would party with and whatnot. Just a glimmer in the past full of memories. A wink, and Aiden filled his friend's glass. A handful? He wondered what that amounted to and what their night held for them.
Though before he could even muse on how to answer his own question in his mind Albus was right in front of him, his fingers barely touching his face and their eyes connecting for a moment. This was certainly different and his eyes were of a different mood and demeanor, either he mean this feeling or the alcohol had just hit him that fast and he was proving his point. He expressed his longings and expectations and Aiden only watched him, figuratively taking a step back until the boy laughed and retrieved his glass from the table. Well either way I was on your mind, wasn't I? Aiden leaned back in his chair again, carefully and sipped from his glass. For a quiet boy Aiden was hardly quiet when being spoken to, or bantering back and forth with someone. Luckily, with his experiences he was open minded and , if you wanted to call it that, flirty with most people if he wanted. You could have waited until I returned and just snuck into my bed with me if you so pleased. If he recalled correctly his own bed was only a few down from his own. They grouped the boys together normally by the years often mixing such as the sixth and seventh year boys just to promote some kind of comradry among them. Or better yet, I could have lit some candles and brought you some flowers if you're the romantic type. That idea was slightly sickening as he was hardly the romantic. His idea of romance had been to take his partners out in some mischief and the risk and danger of it all was enticing enough.
The boy's pajamas were simple and better than the school's uniforms at least, as Aiden was still dressed in his own. Well, at least you aren't overdressed for the ocassion. Aiden smirked and drained the remnants of his glass, reaching for the bottle to refill it.

Post by ALBUS SEVERUS POTTER on Mar 24, 2013 20:15:22 GMT -5
- - - - - - - - - - - - Albus never really was one to roam the halls without intent. There was always a reason for him being out past curfew. Either he was trying to enforce rules or he had his own hidden agenda. Al never considered himself to be innocent, at times his impulsive nature would kick in and he'd just need to venture the castle. With his prefect title there was nothing stopping him from enjoying himself. There were times that he felt he didn't belong in his house, though he did have a couple select friends there. In his younger years he was victimized and bullied for his last name. It was nice that he actually pushed back now a days. Albus was always shy, and not one to just make problems for himself, his father pushed him as he got older. Slytherin never entitled courage, but being his father's son he needed to have some. It was silly, to him and he never saw need to suffice to what other's wanted him to do. There was never a moment to expect Albus to act a certain way. Full of surprises and happy with himself. Albus was always the one to be cramming his studies while there was chaos in his dorm room. Often he would snap at the boys and tell them to be quiet in the bluntest way possible. His attitude and cunning nature was why he was in Slytherin. As much as he believed he could fit in, he knew if he asked the hat, and disregarded his father's words he would have been a Ravenclaw like Frankie. Albus listened to Aiden's words and halfly smirked. "Sure, but only sometimes." Albus concurred he did have his rebellious moments, like now. Albus often wondered if Aiden should have been a Slytherin, his trouble making and adventurous spirits often reminded him of Gryffindor traits. Yet who was Albus to judge, they were all misfits of sorts.
Cry the whole time? Albus smirked and sipped his drink. If Aiden had seen all the crying he had done the other day the boy should have known he didn't need to be intoxicated to cry. "I think I cried enough for the entire year, the other night. No thanks, I don't like emotional drunks, let alone classify myself in that category." Albus stated. It was true he disliked dramatic people in general, he had his own moments but when he was drunk he just got clingy. Albus wanted attention, and he got flirty and often curious. There was nothing wrong with his way of acting, he thought at least. Albus mostly hung around affectionate people therefore he never had an issue, though the boy probably scared poor Jack Pucey. Albus smirked at his thought and let his eyes gaze into Aiden's. The older boy was quite confident in his belief that Albus had him on the mind. Albus could play along, he bit his bottom lip skimming it over with his front teeth. "I just couldn't help myself, when your not around it's like waiting for rain in a desert. Disappointing over all, so I had to come find you." Albus explained wide eyed flaunting his acting skilled.
Of course he enjoyed going along with flirting, but the second someone became cocky Albus wouldn't have it. "Crawl in bed with you? That depends if your good at cuddling. I do have standards, you know." Albus teased. There was nothing Albus enjoyed more then cuddling with someone he could feel safe around. It made it easier to sleep, and this way it would push away his nightmares. Flowers and candles? "No chocolates? I'll take what I can get, I mean I wouldn't say I was always romantic but it's nice every once in a while." Albus explained shrugging as he took a good drain of his drink. Albus blushed looking down at his pajama pants. The boy was always in his pajamas when he wasn't in uniform. Even when roaming the grounds he liked to be comfortable. When he'd go to Hogsmeade he would dress casually in skinny jeans and Converse, but most would see Al in his sleep attire. "I guess your right, easy access as well." Al mused finishing his second drink placing it down. The boy looked around the room, that spun a bit. His blood would become alcohol, and he would forget all that was over powering his mind set hopefully.
The scene he made in the dormitory the other night was horrific, he never would cry like that. Even when his father past away and he was first returning to school he was just quiet and numb. Holding things in was a problem for him, when they did come out the problem was so much greater then he expected. Albus watched as Aiden finished his drink and he took the bottle and poured the boy a glass, filling his own. He placed it aside and sipped the drink standing up. "You know you have pretty eyes, I believe when you look into someone's eyes you should be able to read things about them." Albus explained walking over sitting in Aiden's lap. The boy's blue gaze locked with Aiden's dark one and he chewed the inside of his cheek. "I don't know much about you, it's mysterious, which is sexy, but I want to get to know you. Is that weird?" Albus asked shifting himself so he was comfortable where he now sat. He placed one of his around around Aiden's shoulders for support. Albus was always curious to meet those who had that bad boy persona. Aiden always seemed to be quiet for the most part, therefore it would be interesting to learn a bit more about him. If the older boy would have it of course. Albus' eyes softened, he was different from most people innocent amongst others, without cruel intentions. Would Aiden see that? Or just push him away? "Besides spending your weekend doing detention chores, what makes you smile? You have the cutest dimples, so I'd imagine something makes you happy enough to show them off." Albus wasn't good with socializing. Nor was he always good with words but he was trying at least.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
To say that Aiden had never noticed Albus Potter outside of being that Potter kid would be a lie. There was this innocent about him and those eyes that were part of his features that made him adorable in a way. Aiden certainly had noticed how he was shy and with a nose in a book usually and he had to admit that he was cute. When people claimed to have their 'rebellious' moments Aiden would usually wonder what they were exactly and what they had done that they could have deemed rebellious in any way. There were many times he had scolded the younger students for thinking they had been acting like rebels or somehow outside of the rules when really they were just a bunch of talk and nothing made him angrier. It wasn't a competition, but it was his domain and something of a world he lived in and therefore he knew a lot. There was nothing Gryffindor about this boy or he would have voiced his direct opposition to authority and the rules to the entire student body at any possible chance and just had that air of arrogance befitting a Gryffindor that only made everybody else roll their eyes. They could get in trouble just as he did, but his advantage was that he was sneakier than them and knew to keep his mouth shut and just operate in a sense under the radar even if all the prefects and staff knew to look out for his face after hours or sneaking or something of the sort. It was an amazement that he hadn't gotten himself killed or hurt in the Forbidden Forest or expelled for sneaking into the village.
Albus admitted to having rebellious moments, but he certainly doubted they were any serious infractions. He almost was tempted to ask and share his own serious moments but who knew where that information would end up once it reached the younger boy's ears and was remembered for later. Being this close to graduation he didn't need any serious offenses on his record besides what was already there. There was nothing wrong with crying, that release of emotion was of different significance to each person and Albus clearly had a greater appreciation for it than Aiden did and he'd heard and seen it all with this one. As I vaguely remember... Aiden remembered seeing the younger boy walking quickly into the Common Room, his face wet with tears and eyes red and trying to keep some composure before collapsing on his bed in the Boys' Dorm. The crying hadn't stopped there and he hadn't bothered to ask what was wrong, he didn't pry but while they were here. Well that's good, so if I ask you who made you so sad you won't turn on the waterworks. Did he want to know? Maybe, only out of sheer curiosity versus the actual well-being of Albus. Somehow he found out about these things one way or another and it was nice to know ahead of time because just like anybody he didn't like surprises and he did not like to be blindsided. Aiden had to laugh a little, if that metaphor wasn't cliche he didn't know what was and it was cute in the way he said these things just to get his attention or pretend a point but he could tell he wasn't serious.
I know you wait up, late into the night to make sure I return safely or hope you run into me while on your rounds. Two could play at this game. Albus must have been feeling the courage through his veins from the alcohol or he seriously doubted he would be this playful but he couldn't deny that he didn't enjoy this little fun. There was this bad boy charm that attracted those innocent faces from where they were hiding and this was how Aiden knew who they were and that they eventually got themselves into some kind of trouble. Unlike the Head Boy that ran after every girl with a skirt and a pretty face he waited until they found him. Standards? Well you can't possibly hope to be the Head Boy if you have standards. It was only well known that the Head Boy's of Hogwarts were more often than not whores in their own right, something Aiden could only shake his head at for the notoriety of the position was the cause of course. As far as cuddling was concerned he didn't have to brag on his own, of course he was damn good at cuddling or he wouldn't have offered. Well maybe you should find out, Potter. Nothing wrong with risk, only added fuel to whatever fire was burning underneath you. There was something about risk and the unknown that always made every adventure that much more exciting. Isn't the risk enough romance? Maybe that was just him because it was a risk to be with him, the troublemaker of his class and all around and not one that really seemed to have a bright future ahead of him.
Aiden drank more of his drink, careful to appear that he was drinking more than he really was because he had to make it last. There was nothing like drinking a whole lot and with a nasty hangover the next day, that only told him he had finally exceeded his own tolerance and set a record. And I would have brought chocolates and whatnot, but i'm hardly the type to put that kind of effort. I'm not a hopeless romantic, nor will I pretend. He was practical and most of all he didn't get tied down. Albus should be warned that if he was looking for someone to keep around it wouldn't be him and like the bad boy style it would take someone extraordinary in his mind to get him to stop and settle down at all, but that seemed far from reach. We all had a choice and this was his because he wouldn't force anybody to be with him if they didn't want to . Aiden finished his drink and very quickly the contents were whole again, he couldn't have an empty glass and neither would Albus and he made sure his glass was filled as well. Aiden sat up in his chair as he watched the younger boy speak and walk over, a light haze in those pretty blue eyes that were open but unfocused. There was something he was blocking out and didn't want to think about. Well, good thing he had brought the drinks. Suddenly, Albus was in his lap and Aiden placed his glass on the table so that it wouldn't get knocked over on accident, his eyes looking into his own and he felt Albus trying to read him, find something there. Not at all, there's a lot nobody knows about me. I guess that's my appeal.
He was always that one person everybody knew about but didn't bother to get to know and he didn't care. If someone wanted to know him they should ask, he wasn't going to put his business out in the open and hope people accepted him. Rejection was something he was born into and acceptance as something he secretly craved. Receiving attention for the offenses he committed and rules he broke was his only way of doing so, he felt. Aiden put an arm around his waist so that he would not fall over. What made him happy? Alcohol, sex, not getting caught. The usual things but he could hardly claim that he was happy in his life. What did he answer to that? Well, what about you Albus? Everybody knows about you, but they don't know you do they? Aiden licked his lips quickly and his eyes searched for an answer in his eyes. What makes you tick? There was something about infamy that was tragic and fell upon those with last names that had history at this school or in the Wizarding World. Aiden wouldn't make this about him, how else was he supposed to keep his allure. Shifting every so slightly in his seat he brought his face closer to Albus as he was taller than him already, and he wondered if it would make his heart race or make him nervous, but he kept his eyes locked. What makes those pretty blue eyes so sad?

- - - - - - - - - - - - In actuality Albus didn't know where to begin in his explanation. The first thing to making a new friend was to show them they could open up to you, in return you'd show the same courtesy. Aiden had been an interesting boy, he was always in some kind of trouble and there had to be a reason for it. Albus was sure the boy wouldn't act out for the hell of it, even at that age, there was always some logic to the actions. Those whom would rebel had some type of cause, not that he was working on prying but perhaps someday he would find out. That wasn't the goal tonight, it was more along getting to know what each other were comfortable with expressing, and Albus didn't mind opening up. In his defense he was a boy to wear all his emotions on his sleeves. This way there was no mistaken who he was as a person. The other night he returned to the room crying, a mess of emotions torn from his chest, and a black eye he was still recovering from. Ben had strange ways of getting Albus' attention, aggression was one of them. Albus watched Aiden's lips form words and he looked down for a moment thinking of how he wanted to answer the question.
"Let's see here, my ex-boyfriend made me turn on the waterworks. See we never really saw eye to eye. He is kind of selfish, and controlling and he sort of just tossed the months I dedicated to him away that night. When we were dating I felt like he was embarrassed to be with me, and he kept me a secret. I read a lot of love stories as you probably see my swooning in the dorm at night, and I have a view on what love should be and I guess I wanted to keep making excuses for why it was okay to be abused in such ways." Albus explained ruffling his black hair. Albus looked back to Aiden and shrugged lightly, it was sad a boy could have that much of an impact on Albus' life. Yet it just meant he had heart, and this was why he was so effected by it all. "I tried everything I could and in the end, I still wasn't good enough." Albus added licking his lips not sure what Aiden would think of him. He hoped it wasn't too negative it was his first boyfriend after all. At least he was honest and really he didn't care what people thought of him. That was a perk to being who he was, he was only confident in the fact he had real friends and true heart. In life that was all he felt he needed, was a clarity of know who he himself was. "I'm just numb now, I'm okay with it being done." The boy explained. After crying so much, one couldn't help to just shut down from those emotions, although he was seeking different kinds of affection now a days.
It was starting to got hot in the room, Albus needed a topic change after that explanation. As Aiden spoke of Albus waiting up for him he snickered. "Now your just flattering yourself." He stated with a grin, the thought of Albus giving one boy that much attention was cute to him. However Aiden's next words caused Albus to quirk a brow. "No I will be head boy next year, and as I remember my uncle was head boy once upon a time, not all need to amount to the reputation of Jack Pucey." Albus explained bluntly. Not that he had anything against Jack, he just knew things to be different. His uncle Percy was a good man whom probably married the first girl that came to him for love. All of his family members seemed to be in standings of intimacy for love, with the exception of James, and and very few others. Albus slightly shook head at the thought of his brother. Those poor girls placing hope just to get led of and robed out of a shag. Albus wasn't really like that, though his actions lately had been a little promiscuous for his own liking. It was enjoyable though, and he was coping with his loss in more ways then one. Albus was a boy of feeling, he attached himself to those he did have those types of standings with, but not over doing it. He knew the difference between relationships and impulsive flings. If one was not to experiment how would they find who was right for them?
Being referred to by his last name wasn't what he expected but he managed to smirk. "Perhaps I will have to give it a go, there has to be a reason your so cocky." Albus replied he would enjoy cuddling, there was nothing wrong with that. Thinking on to the topic of risks caused many questions to arise in his mind. "Well if you could call it that, romance and risks are different, I'm not looking for romance right now. Though the risk you speak of does sound tempting." Albus explained running his fingers through the boy's brown hair. Albus sipped his drink and placed the glass away from him. The burn in his chest proved he had enough as he felt himself hiccup. The room was slightly spinning, and he was scared to stand up, he could sit right here for now. Aiden's hand placed around his waist caused him to feel safe, and Albus knew he wasn't going to fall. Though he managed to blush at the feeling. It was tragic how his cheeks would speak for him at times causing him to be slightly shy and ever so insecure. Albus closed his eyes trying to gain control over his racy thoughts, the boy's warm hand touching his hip brought to his mind. Naughty. Albus smirked and opened his eyes cocking his head at Aiden's words. Oh he was good, he turned the question around.
How to answer that? Of course people knew his name, and knew him to be that moody, smart prefect but there was so much more. Albus skimmed his bottom lip over with his large front teeth a couple times before speaking. "No they wouldn't want to know things about me. Things I see, and what I think are scary sometimes." Albus explained, the scars on his wrists were proof of that. The boy scared himself most of all, something so fragile as life, and he could take it away in an instance with some of the things he thought and could remember. Tick? Albus would like to think he didn't get angry easy and he was patient enough to handle things in a mature manner as the boy shifted and got closer he gulped looking Aiden in the eyes his own innocent and a little intimidated. Albus' heart raced in his chest as he traced shaped on the back of Aiden's neck to distract himself from getting insecure. At the mention of his eyes being 'pretty' he blushed a shade of red and shrugged into his shoulders cutely. Albus wasn't used to this kind of intimidation nor this kind of complimenting. He could feel his palms getting a bit sweaty as he searched for an answer. "Experiences I've went through, being so broken I've become numb, and I've detached from myself, and lost sight of who I am." Albus explained moving a little closer looking into Aiden's eyes. Albus' mind was not one to be broke into. It was a dark place and often tragic in there. "Pretty brown eyed boy's, they make them sad. Love because I can't figure it out. The pain I see, I can't turn it off. Rejection, not being good enough..." Albus mustered all he could come up with to explain what made his eyes sad.
"I hope that answers your question." Albus stated, he wasn't sure how to answer it properly. There was obvious answers but he stray away from those. The boy had lost his father, and logic would explain that, however there was more to him like Aiden said. Albus just ever so bluntly explained the small details of his mind. He hoped he wasn't too detailed but as he remained a boy that wore his emotions on his sleeve. Somewhere he trusted Aiden he didn't know why, and he couldn't explain it he just did. Albus let his finger tips brush down the boy's jawline. "Could we be similar in any manner?" Albus asked not losing his gaze with Aiden. Those brown eyes had to tell him something because Aiden didn't seem like he was going to open up enough for him to get a good view on the boy. Time would tell.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
It was interesting how much Aiden knew about his classmates whether it was things they had told him directly or that he had found out on his own and yet people knew very little about him. There wasn't much he was willing to share to be honest, his life wasn't complicated and was actually very simple. It was probably the fact that it was the feelings he had about his life that he didn't want to share or even acknowledge to that matter. From what he could have surmised that night, with Albus in tears and his one eye bruised and swollen there must have been some kind of fight of some sort, though emotions were definitely involved if there were tears. People viewed Aiden as a kind rebel without a cause and they would be correct on some notes, really he did have a cause but he had just never found a proper way to put it into words or some kind of way that others would understand. Nobody could understand what your issues were unless they were you and in your shoes, he didn't pretend to care or understand others problems as they could only claim to understand what his may be. He lived in this perpetual state of rejection, and that was something he had grown up his whole life knowing and he didn't expect anything from others and that kept him independent. Albus paused at his question, if he didn't want to talk about it then he wasn't going to force him because that wasn't his style. If someone wanted to share a secret with him or bare their soul it was completely up to them. However, when Albus started speaking, an ex-boyfriend tale of some sorts he listened patiently.
Boys are more trouble than they are worth sometimes, girls too. He mused out loud. Or relationships in general. He hadn't been in many himself and he wouldn't claim to know all the answers on that one. Just the thought of being that vulnerable and open to one person was scary. It was the thought that one word of judgment from them could just breaking your world into a million little pieces and that they could ever have that kind of control on you, it was unsettling and didn't sit well with Aiden at all. Well, it takes two people and if you were the only one trying it probably wasn't meant to work. It took two to tango and one reason that Aiden had avoided such relationships at all if he could help it. There was something in him that told him he wasn't going to be able to put in that kind of effort for someone and he didn't want to waste time, hurt feelings or cause drama for he didn't want that type of attention at all. He shrugged and looked at him, if he was over it then he was over it. Though it was something that was hardly easy to get over in one night or one day or even a week or whatever length of time. These events that touched you emotionally take time to heal and the deepest scars came from those closest to us and as Aiden knew too well the pain never went away the consequences lasted a lifetime if you could help it. Aiden drank from his glass, the liquid warm in his throat and then his stomach. You don't need him anyway, never waste your time with someone that doesn't want to be with you. Aiden threw out there just as a little bit of support.
Aiden smiled, of course he was flattering himself and he had to admit that Albus had a point. Just because their Head Boy acted the way he did didn't meant that they all did. I suppose they each have their own style and are remembered for different things. He had no doubt that many years from now Jack would detest being known for what he is known for now. As maturity set in your whole view of life tended to change and such trivial matters such as girls and school dances would be things of the past. And as his own father has learned such antics tended to define your life thereafter, in his case he had not known his mother more than a few hours before Aiden's conception and there they were unhappily stuck together after that. I'm cocky because I never have to force people to do anything. Aiden thought about what he said and then added to make sure what he said was clear, Well as in i'm not a pushy person, I don't force decisions to be made. People approached him and spoke to him, he was content being alone but he would rather have someone be with him out of their own free will or even with the alcoholic influence than be forced by his way or duty or whatever seemed to be the case. I'm not a romantic Albus, not like you seem to be. I like risk because i've already accepted the consequences, have you? He wasn't speaking on some specific situation but merely in general. That's what made it so easy for him to do what he did, he already accepted the aftermath.
It had been a life long lesson for him and how he ran his life. The feeling of Albus' hand running through is hair felt good, there was something comforting and seductive all the same about having someone run their fingers through your hair that made him grin a little. The pink tint on the other boy's face told him he was probably intoxicated and on a similar page as his own. As for Aiden he felt a slight buzz from the alcohol that he had consumed but was not near the level of his friend here. Slowly they were physically being closer and Aiden was neither why nor a stranger to such experiences he was sure that Albus was not one to jump on a boy's lap just for the hell of it without some encouragement. Aiden would have probably left Albus alone in this sense if he had never encountered him here, but when in Rome as they say. Before Aiden had asked him a question Albus had asked him first, but it was not time for that. If he could avoid it he did avoid answering questions about himself, that was saved for those he felt were worthy of answers. People judged too quickly as he had learned and that had caused him to shut down emotionally, sticking to his own style of hedonism in compensation. There seemed to be much more to Albus Potter than what met the eye and suddenly he felt curious about him and maybe they were similar in their own ways and it was nice to not be alone for that reason. Infamy was in their last names and their individuality. The closer that Aiden got to Albus physically he saw him fidget and even freeze, if he got any closer he could probably feel his heart beating.
He hoped that he wasn't speaking of his own dark eyes, they were more dark hazel than anything though mistaken. The boy that he was talking about earlier must have had brown eyes. Love isn't supposed to be easy or make sense, and it finds you eventually. He didn't expect himself to ever fall in love though he waited for it because he knew that it would be a hard hit and would not be obvious either. Aiden was about to speak, his face close to that of the others until he was asked if they could be similar, it caused him to pause and think for a moment. There was probably a shift in his eyes, he could only imagine what it would be like to lose one's father so suddenly and tragically. Samuel Vaisey seemed like the only person in the world that gave a damn about his son and his mother was off doing whatever she was doing clearly displaying her lack of a mother gene. Without admitting anything he only moved his face closer to Albus, teasing him in that way that he could have leaned in for a kiss if he wanted to and not done it. What makes you say that? What did he think of Aiden? This made him curious, what kind of implications did he show whether he knew it or not. Aiden's heart was beating faster, the effect of alcohol and physical closeness, whether Albus knew it or not he was teasing in his own way and he contemplated what those soft lips would have felt like against his own as he brought his hand his jaw and side of his face where it pressed lightly against his skin.

- - - - - - - - - - - - It wasn't like Albus to speak this much about himself. Normally he was insecure about the details of his existence, he hated the thought of being judged but somewhere he knew this wasn't the case. Making friends wasn't something that he was a natural at. It took time and patients, which were not things Albus had. Tonight was different, he actually was opening up to someone he wouldn't consider to be new to his life, but more along the lines of over seen. Aiden and Albus were not close friends, though he didn't see Aiden hang around with a certain crowd for too long himself. Albus knew the boy to be a bit sarcastic in nature but decently talkative just from his patrols, and dorm room conversations. Al himself, had a social phobia and feared rejection, unlike his brother James, he wasn't charming or outgoing. Albus was to himself, and quiet. Most of his fun was spent with his close friends, or just alone. This was the way he liked it most of the time. But he couldn't deny he liked being close to Aiden in these standings. It was nice to speak to someone that didn't know him very well. Clearing up some questions for the older boy would do Albus no harm, and if it did so be it. Just another thing he would live to see the end of.
At Aiden's words he listened, it was different to hear an outsiders advice. Frankie always spoke trust to him, but he questioned the boy's logic now that he knew there was more then friendship there. Aiden surfaced a valid point, relationship were hard and Albus knew this. Boy were trouble, but he liked the rush that it brought him. The intensity of love. However there was always a down fall, putting your heart in the palm of another was dangerous, and he knew the sting. Albus knew things with Ben were not working, deep down he wished they did though. In his heart he still wished things turned out differently because no one had took Albus to the levels Ben did. No one could make him feel like he was so special, but so meaningless at the same time. It was tragic, and it damaged his view on love. Aiden's final words on the topic caused Albus to blush a deep shade of red. Somewhere it made him feel strong, and shy that someone thought he deserved better. Albus cocked his head and smirked. "Well I'm glad someone agrees with me." Al said, not that he was cocky because if Aiden knew how broken he really was the boy may not think the same. Albus didn't want to think too much on the topic any how so it was nice switching to the topic of something else.
Head boys, they were all different, Albus nodded agreeing. "It's tragic, I 'm sorry you will not be here to experience my reign. I will just have to send you lots of owls and keep you posted then." Albus stated dramatically, giggling. Aiden was a year older then him, and it would be sad that the boy made his statement about head boys and Albus couldn't prove him wrong. In retrospects Albus could never be like Jack. One he was not social, and two he wasn't a smooth talker. Albus was far to shy around girls to follow in the current head boy's foot steps. Although many girls would tell you they had a crush on Albus Potter, he was just not interested. Plus Albus liked to be a leader, he would set the bar high for those to followed in suit, destine to become head boy. Albus wanted to follow his name sake, and become head master. When it came to destiny and goals he collaborated the two, coming up with high expectations for his future. Not all would have their lives mapped out by the age of sixteen, Albus just knew he wanted to be some his father would be proud of.
As Aiden explained his reasons for being cocky Albus quirked an eyebrow. It was good to know Aiden wasn't a pushy person, that was the last thing Al needed. His ex was pushy enough, he didn't need more of that. It was nice to make decisions on ones own, and when there wasn't pressure things went more smoothly. Albus could admit he liked that about Aiden, and he could see the reason why the boy was confident about that. "Then I presume you have a good enough reason to be cocky." Albus admitted looking into the boy's eyes. Albus Potter the romantic? Albus contained the laugh he wanted to let out, if anything he was awkward with all things having to do with love. Albus was one to ask too many questions during intimate situations if he remembered correctly. How embarrassing, yet he'd let Aiden think he was romantic of that was what the boy thought. The end of Aiden's sentence caused him to think if he was referring to the consequences of tonight. "Well if you are speaking about tonight.." Albus mused leaning forward til his lips were close to the boy's ear. "I'm here aren't I?" Albus whispered, breathing deeply to see if the boy would get chills from Albus' lips being so close his such a sensitive place. Slowly he backed up, though the thought of nibbling on the boy's earlobe crossed his mind he'd hold out, and tease accordingly.
Albus' aqua eyes captured Aiden and he wondered what was on the boy's mind. Both were drinking, and he found himself at a loss in those dark eyes. Albus wasn't the best at reading others because he couldn't stand the thought of being wrong. Although he had a great judgment of character, he only would place his assumptions were he thought they made sense. Physically he watched Aiden get closer, and he wondered if the boy was going to kiss him so he braced himself, closing his eyes to feel nothing. Oh he was a tease? Albus opened his blue orbs now focusing on the boy's lips. The question made the prefect think, and he shrugged lightly. "Just a thought." Albus replied simply not losing his gaze with Aiden. "I just know there are emotional walls you have seemed to put up, that is basically why you didn't answer my question, and directed it back toward me. There are reasons for them, because there is always a logical apprehension for such things. So I lucidly thought we could be similar." Albus explained giving Aiden an example of his over all analogy of the boy. Albus was smart, but he was also a little crazy, so reverse psychology was always a quick way to give thought to someone's actions.
The older boy touched his cheek and he closed his eyes letting the warmth sink in. Albus knew where his own mind set was, but he was curious where Aiden's had wondered off to. The alcohol had him longing for affection, but he couldn't just come out and suffice to his desires. Albus wasn't the type to make first moves, he feared he'd screw up somehow. Albus slowly opened his eyes and moved a bit closer biting his bottom lip. "What's on you mind Aiden?" Albus asked feeling his cheeks warm up with the anticipation of the situation.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
Aiden would have never thought he'd end up in such a position with Albus of all people. Even if they had gotten along well enough they ran in different circles and were different people all together. However, there was something that made them similar. The way they were in the spotlight for who they were and what they did, though he didn't have the infamy of being a Potter that was just another variable. Intimacy was never his thing and his relationships in the past had lacked that little piece of open emotional vulnerability that he had just never been able to reach and it had been the downfall really. Right now, despite the alcohol playing a factor he didn't feel open but he didn't feel close off either, he was comfortable and Albus seemed to be also though he knew that had he spoken to Potter as he was while sober it would have illicited a different response entirely. People were not his thing, and he accepted that as though he assumed their rejection already. Albus didn't rejection and maybe that's why he felt oddly attracted to him, there were things deep that everybody else didn't see and he was being open about them, his ex and little pieces of his life while Aiden avoided sharing anything about himself because he was still unsure how to even put it into words concisely. There was no bias here, so it might have been safe and he knew nothing of Albus' personal life thus far so he had no bias in opinion. Well, it just doesn't seem right to suffer and say that you're happy. There were a lot of influences in our lives and he didn't see the point of being in a relationship that only served to hurt you and cause anxiety and whatnot.
I"m sure you would have found any reason to give me detention or hope you run into me in these late hours. He was never in his dorm on time and quite frankly he hated it in there. Hardly any privacy and if you wanted some time alone you had to go damn near the Forbidden Forest to do so. And as far as keep in contact with someone still here at the school he had never really anticipated doing so as most he was friendly with where in his year and would graduate alongside him. But he gave him a slightly questioning look. Are you sure your next boyfriend won't mind? What's to say that Albus wouldn't fall in love with some chap after Aiden graduated or even in the coming weeks. What if he was seeing someone and here Aiden was interfering. As far as being involved in such love triangles he really didn't mind them, if someone was gravitating toward him without Aiden's effort then it wasn't his problem, he didn't go out to cause drama and he was a troublemaker, so what could he say. It was only a hypothetical question but he wondered what kind of answer he would receive. Would there be comforting words or honesty escaping the younger boy's lips? Aiden knew that Albus would make a good Head Boy and it would only serve to raise his confidence in himself because he could see that he needed that. Sometimes opportunities arose and let people prove things to themselves and others merely would have thrown them away. Aiden was probably afraid of such and afraid of the results because he liked his reputation just as it was.
In his past he had found partners that wanted to force a direction while he himself was easy going in these matters and he didn't like that at all. There was no happiness in forcing someone to be with you if only for your own happiness, there was no growth without two mutual parties and he always hated seeing that with couples around the school and the weaker party only being hurt in the end. However, it meant that he was less likely to fight for someone, he didn't know those boundaries because he had never seen them work, his own mother detested marriage and and having come about it the way that she did. The weight he had been born with and it still rested on the seventeen year old's shoulders and in his father's eyes where he only saw sadness. Well I certainly never have to brag about anything. His reputation was spread by everyone but himself, and he never or rarely spoke or commented about his activities or said things about himself so he just went on his way and let people thing what they would and whatnot. Albus leaned in and spoke into his ear so that he could feel his hot breath against his skin and he found himself biting his lift softly for a moment. The presence of heat on his skin was enticing as was his face so close to his. Was this going to lead somewhere? Aiden certainly wouldn't regret it, however he did not like the thought of Albus having to wake up in the morning with some other worry on his mind that he didn't need, there seemed to be enough on his shoulders.
Well, you are more the risk-taker than I figured you to be. Appearances were one thing, actions spoke louder and drinking only brought out the truth. Even Aiden could admit that they were similar in their own ways. These tortured souls that suffered in broad daylight but to not the knowledge of others. There was something eating them alive from the inside and they both could not understand their own pain let alone another's. Is that what made him so lonely and distant from everybody else, Aiden hated being a burden and he was honestly hesitant to dump his problems on Albus and would have rather distracted himself and Albus with something fun. I keep my walls up because i'm not a romantic, I focus on what's in front of me and what I can see... His judgment of Aiden was probably right, he didn't know what to think about it but he stroked his cheek and his jaw lightly, And feel. This was happening, it was concrete and fit into the practical category. He didn't daydream and think about what could and would happen, he just acted. Albus seemed to move his face closer to Aiden's and their eyes were connected for a moment, words being spoken and heard. Right now? Just wondering what it would be like to kiss you. It was true and even if he was wondering it was because he was waiting for the right moment to do so. Albus hardly seemed like the type to pounce and take the opportunity and he leaned in slowly before the younger boy could register what he had said, but not harshly at all. Softly he placed his lips against Albus' lips and kissed him, enough time had passed and enough teasing had been done.

- - - - - - - - - - - - Even thought he was enjoying this time with Aiden, it wouldn't have been something he expected. Albus knew the two were very different, and maybe opposites attracted as they say. The mysterious bad boy certainly peeked his interests, and he was at a tender moment as he was now so close with the boy. Not just physically, because Albus felt like he opened up just enough to show his mind set. Albus spoke truth about himself, and but not because he was tattered or broken. Not for the simple fact he needed to vent, he spoke on his own free will allowing the boy into a small understanding of himself. Albus set up many emotional walls, he wasn't one to just speak for the sake of wasting breath and effort. More along the times of trying to extend a hand in something more, to gain some trust. All his actions and words were of meaning, and he was showing Aiden it was alright to do the same. Albus didn't expect it right away, he knew it may take many nights, but he'd try and stick around to see such things unfold if welcomed. In actuality he wasn't sure where his actions would lead the two, but he was content with the moments being shared.
After speaking about love and feeling fine with his subsided feelings he now knew Aiden understood why he had a moment of weakness. With love most understood it wasn't easy and it was a risk placing one's heart into someone else's hands. At Aiden's words he grew silent and nodded acknowledging them. Albus wouldn't say he faked being happy with his ex but he would say he wasn't fully satisfied. Even with the worst nights, the laughter would always follow the tears. Happy moments were involved as well, and this was why he'd fight to keep Ben in someway. Even if it was only as a friend, he needed to make it clear his emotions were not make believe. Albus wouldn't have it any other way, even if his friends looked down upon it. Over all it was his choice, and this is why he just agreed with Aiden, and didn't speak more on the matter. The dead feeling inside his heart was one that needed to be healed, and with time he would do just that. Tonight he didn't hold a romantic intention, so when Aiden made it clear that was not the case he was a bit relieved.
Albus shifted slightly at Aiden's words and chuckled. This one never stopped with his boasting ego. "If it would make you happy I will agree, but know I do not look forward to giving anyone detention. Unless fully deserving, or they have hurt me someway in the past. I wasn't always graced with a title of authority when it came to such matters." Albus explained, he was sure Aiden knew of him being picked on in the past, it was hard to miss. The boy's first few years were the worst, with his father always telling him to speak up for himself. Albus learned standing up for himself only made issues worst, and he didn't like the drama. Therefore he detached from making friends for a couple years, only keeping those that already gained loyalty close to him. Albus always had issues with his house mates mostly, but now a days most wouldn't be so persistent with bullying him. "My next boyfriend? Who's to say I will have a next one?" Albus asked quirking a brow. He knew he was a lover deep down, but he was sure he wasn't fully ready to move on. In aspects he was sitting on the lap of a boy, that didn't hold such a title with him. Albus knew Aiden had to have had, a sweet side but he wasn't seeing it at this moment, so he took the situation for what it was.
After his whispering so close in Aiden's ear he smirked at the older boy's words. Albus was bipolar, and impulse was one of those things that balanced his moods. "I risk things because I like to see the results, I learn something from everything I do. There is always a motive to the madness, as some famous muggle once said." Albus stated. The boy liked to experiment, he was still young and doing things would only show him what to, and what not to do in the future. Though Albus was the type to try everything twice to see how they differ. Albus wasn't sure he and Aiden would be as close at they now were in the morning. It didn't really matter as long as they were not total strangers, Albus thought. It would be pretty embarrassing to wake up alone if things got intense. Albus would make this boy cuddle, though he didn't think there would be much of an objection. Albus had those pretty blue eyes, Aiden spoke of. Didn't he want to see them in result of their actions?
Albus himself was hardly being romantic at this time, so he didn't hold that Aiden didn't want to let his walls down at this time, against the boy. It wasn't a concern of his as he felt the boy's touch stroking his cheek lightly. Albus' cheeks grew red at the action, and he knew there was going to be more then just sitting where he was now, on the event list for the evening. His blue gaze locked with Aiden as he tried to recognize what was on the boy's mind, seeing if he could answer his question for himself. When the boy spoke he didn't have time to object he just felt the boy's warm lips on his own, and he closed his eyes letting his heart flutter, as he put his arms around Aiden's neck, deepening the kiss. It was almost unreal how nice this felt, as he succumb to his inner desire and brought passion to the kiss, letting his tongue part the boy's lips. Albus quietly moaned into the kiss, his heart racing not wanting to ruin the moment. He gently let his finger tips caress the back of Aiden's neck, pressing himself close to the boy. When breathless, he broke the kiss with a smile and bit his lips, his eyes still closed. "Was it everything you imagined?" Albus whispered, slowly opening his eyes, that were not filled with ecstasy and desire. Did he want more? Most defiantly, but he needed to know his feelings were mutual with the other boy's. Al slowly moved in and brought his lips to Aiden's neck, where he trailed tender kisses, and nibbles along the boy's soft skin. He moved his way up to the boy's jawline, and breathed for a moment. The was happening, and he was enjoying it, motioning finding Aiden's lips once again, igniting another kiss of passion.

you see your world on fire d o n t . t r y . t o . a c t . s u r p r i s e d
Was it the alcohol acting on his behalf or was this just something he did for fun? Aiden didn't mind having fun and he was going to while he was still young. Being with Albus wasn't something he envisioned causing drama so he had no problem observing, teasing and acting upon natural desires that were inside of him as a male. Albus seemed keen on returning such affections so he would go along with this, see how far he would get and go from there. There was something nice about being able to vent to a virtual stranger versus a close friend, no fear of judgment or assumptions and maybe even some kind of understanding without the bias in the way, he needed that in his life but he was always his own obstacle of course. Life was much more complicated than just black and white and all the shades of grey in between held their own stories and had their own obstacles to be thrown in the way and he wondered what kind of hold this last boy had on Albus and he figured he was young and years later he would reflect back on this relationship and see it for what it really was, maturity always brought events and things in a new light and perspective and Aiden was waiting for his moment to change and his vision to clear to really see what he was going through while here at Hogwarts though he knew which external forces to blame already, his broken family life and non-existent mother figure. Excuses, but he needed something to hold onto, unlike Albus he didn't have the same experiences in relationships that he'd had.
I"ll be careful not to cross you then here in my remaining months. He didn't need people coming after him with some vendetta seeking to act out on it with some vengeance. Thus far he had his reputation but really he had stayed out of the trouble that was considered 'drama' and that fueled the gossip of the day. Such nonsense, who was dating who and who cheated on which person. Aiden only participated as much as people would spread rumors about him, but for the most part his life was personal and rarely spoken of. Or girlfriend. Unless you've already got one and yet here you are spending time with me instead of them. Can't have been that important if Albus was so easily distracted by alcohol and Aiden's dimples. However, he was not seriously suggesting that Albus was a cheater, he figured that such behavior did not fit Albus as Aiden saw him and he wouldn't expect that from him but you never knew. Aiden himself avoided committed relationships because of that risk he liked, and he never wanted to see someone close to him hurt or forced to face that so he avoided the drama there as best as he could. Sometimes a relationship, a person affect you so much that you just remained stuck because one doesn't know what else to do and moving on is a long and painful process that really requires to just be ripped violently from where you were stuck before you could feel happy again. Maybe that's where Aiden was in terms of his behavior, one day he would grow up but today was not that day.
Are you always happy with the results? Results were expected and consequences with risks but you it wasn't always what you wanted to see. Regret and a Pandora's box of negative emotions would usually fall into place and become a burden emotionally and even on those involved and around you. Just like the one-night-stand that produced Aiden, he lived with that knowledge that really he was just an accident and a mistake and that was how he faced the world like it was imprinted on his forehead. Or do you regret them? Aiden didn't regret, he just lived and even if he didn't like what happened he moved on because he didn't have time for that weight on his shoulders nor the energy to carry it all the time because he had enough already to carry. Was it a risk to be with Albus? Probably, because he hardly was at the same level as Aiden and sober this would not have been happening exactly in this order or Aiden would just have had to have tried harder and be more persistent. Was he risking hurting him just because he wanted some fun, yes, but at the same time he had enough of a heart to treat him with some respect as he was a person after all and he didn't need an angry Prefect ruining his last months. There were others in his life he would have preferred to divert such attention to physically but that having been nothing serious or official this was alright in his own book. The risk for Albus being with Aiden was clear as he was the local troublemaker and certainly not one with a sterling reputation but in Aiden's eyes he needed this, help distract him from whatever was making those blue eyes so sad.
As Aiden kissed Albus he felt arms around his neck and a body very close to him and this made his heart race just a little bit faster. Wherever there was skin to skin contact he could feel the heat and a yearning in the pit of his stomach. The kiss grew deeper and he could feel that Albus had been anticipating this probably even more than Aiden had been, that passion and intimacy that was really only their physical connection fogged by the alcohol. Still, they had to break and when the kiss broke he could hear both of them breathing and Albus whisper, followed by his lips making contact with his neck where he was rather sensitive. You're a lot more fiery than you let on. He honestly would not have expected such energy in passion from Albus, he seemed so quiet and reserved but then again you know what they said about the quiet ones and figured that he merely just fell in that category versus what was obvious to everybody else. How many others had he shared this passion with? Or was it just becuase of the alcohol, either way he was liking this direction and wasn't going to stop it. Soon Aiden was kissed by Albus and he kissed back and he moved Albus so that he was straddling him and he could bring him closer to him and his hands were on his waist and back, moving as if it wasn't already hot enough in the room. Aiden pulled back for a second to breath, how long were they going to stay in this room? And they were in neighboring dorms they could always head back there if he wanted. Up to Albus at this point.

- - - - - - - - - - - - Alcohol was always a trigger when it came to Albus. There would be spontaneous actions done, that he normally wouldn't do, there were words that were said, but never once did he really regret what he did. Albus believed that the alcohol would just give him the courage to do things he normally wouldn't. It didn't help that his manic side would kick in and intensify his thoughts. When he wanted something he just impulsively acted, it had always been that way. Albus couldn't help it, did he find Aiden cute? Of course he did, could he grow to like him? He thought so but in this moment he wasn't really thinking that way. Albus was merely having fun, and doing what he wanted. Alcohol or not. Was it odd a night like this was happening with Aiden? Not really Albus was often drawn to those type that were bad boys, and mysterious. He didn't want to do anything he'd regret but his gut instinct was allowing all this to happen, so he just went with it.
Albus listened to Aiden's words and his bottom lip pouted. "You can't just avoid me, I'm sure you'll run into me when your up to no good, I have a way of running into you when your being naughty." Albus added. He didn't want Aiden to not be his friend, nor did he want to be sitting on the lap of someone he'd just not see again. Albus wasn't easy, he didn't really try to get around like some people. If he was in a relationship he wouldn't be where he was, he wasn't a cheater. "I don't have a boyfriend nor do I have a girlfriend, I'm not the type to cheat, no one to worry about." Albus reassured. Aiden really must have thought low of him, if he were asking him about someone else. He didn't want Aiden to think that way, it made him insecure. If they were going to do something Albus wanted Aiden to be comfortable and know he wasn't going to have to deal with jealous repercussions. Albus was too sweet to set someone up like that. "I'm glad I'm spending time with you, and only you Aiden." Albus explained looking into the boy's darker eyes. Of course he could toss a little flattery the boy's way, but he wanted it clear that he wasn't in a relationship with anyone, and he wasn't low like that to cheat.
Albus let insecurity fade away, as he listened to the boy's next question. Risks, he had taken quite a few recently and he wasn't feeling much regret. After drinking with Jack and Frankie the following week was hard with Frankie avoiding all contact with him, but in the end he was okay with that as well. Hitting on Jack was a different story, he just hoped he wasn't the only guy to ever hit on him. That would make their friendship a little awkward. Albus smirked at the thought as he readied himself to answer. "Well I don't try to regret things, I really believe when I do something it's something I wanted to do. Weather it be a good or bad result I wanted it, therefore why regret it?" Albus stated in a question form. He wondered if Aiden agreed with him. Wasn't it just right to go with one's gut instinct like he was doing now? Life was funner, and less boring if he acted without always over thinking. Life's consequences were just going to be handed out accordingly, at least he would have stories to tell his kids someday. Albus didn't want to be the boring Potter, he needed stories, and laughs to share someday.
As their lips connected and they shared a kiss, he enjoyed every moment. His heart was racing fast, and he killed the curiosity he wanted. Albus liked the teasing, it made this kiss much more desired, which was probably why he made it so passionate. After the kiss he took in Aiden's words and smirked to himself. "You have no idea." Albus stated, he resented the fact people only knew him to be studious and quiet. There was a fun side that others could see if they gave him a chance. Albus guessed Aiden was learning from experience, which there was nothing wrong about that. As he went into for another kiss he followed Aiden's movements, and he closed his eyes allowing the boy to shift him. Albus was more close this time, as he felt himself start to grind a bit. Aiden's hands on his waist caused him to moan into the kiss a little, the tension was higher now. When the kiss ended he looked into Aiden's eyes and bit his bottom lip. He wanted more.
Albus caught his breath and moved himself so he was standing now. "Come on, we can back to the dorm. I don't think we would be the first pair to ever hook up in our dorm." Albus stated taking Aiden's hand. The venture back to the Slytherin common room, would be complex. Albus normally didn't walk when he was drinking because naturally he was clumsy. Alcohol would have made it worst. Albus looked up at the older boy suddenly feeling small. For his age he was shorter then most but he didn't mind too much. "Don't let me fall, can you see it? The prefect of Slytherin drunk, does a dive down the grand staircase? That would be bloody brilliant." Albus stated sarcastically taking Aiden's hand in his. He felt his cheeks heat up, as he waited for Aiden to gather whatever he needed.
Soon enough he was stumbling through the castle, careful not to be seen by any of the staff or heads. Most of the prefect were his friends so he didn't worry too much about them. Although they would be likely to question what he was doing with a trouble maker like Aiden. Albus didn't care what they thought though, he was happy wasn't that enough? After descending down all the floors they finally hit the dungeon. He was nervous, he could feel the butterflies fluttering about his stomach. Coming to the entrance he spoke the password entering the common room. It was pretty empty to the eye, it must have been late. Albus walked to the dormitory the two shared tip toeing in. He walked over to his bed that was in the corner, figuring it was where most wouldn't notice. He sat down putting his arms out for Aiden, gesturing he wanted the boy to come. When obliged he leaned in to the older boy's ear. "You just have to promise you wont forget me, and that you will stay and cuddle after. I'm sure I'll tire you out." Albus whispered as he nibbled Aiden's earlobe.
At this time he was sure something was going to happen, he wasn't sure how far they would go or if he would even be secure enough to be touched. All he knew was he was ready for something to happen. Albus reached for Aiden's shirt as he slowly undid the buttons exposing the boy's skin. Merlin this boy had a beautiful toned body. Albus liked muscles, he wouldn't be with someone that was thin or scrawny like himself. As he finished he pushed away the material biting his bottom lip, he took in the moment before wrapping his arms around Aiden's neck igniting another kiss. Albus leaned back pulling the older boy on top of him, as the two shared a kiss letting himself grow excited. Albus wasn't experienced in this department, so he'd let Aiden lead him into what they would do. There was something enjoyable about this unknown feeling he had. He just hoped Aiden was enjoying it as well.
