Life at Hogwarts was something that it has taken Rebecca years to get used to. It was just so different from her world, where anything that wasn't explained by science wasn't possible, yet here, everyday she saw how these limitations are broken. Spells cast and brooms flying, things that shouldn't be able to hold out against the pull and tug of gravity. The girl had a thick book in her hand, as well as her paper and a pen. Not a quill and parchment that many people had, she had made sure she had a lot in her trunk for her seventh year. The flow of a ballpoint felt much more satisfying than that of a feather. She might have been biased, of course. Becca had never really wanted to be at Hogwarts, she wanted to be in normal school, studying for medicine. Here; she was a failure in a lot of things, and that for her something that she didn't really like to accept.

Rebecca loved the spring. The weather was just warm enough without being too hot, and it was certainly not too cold. Everybody had gone out on a weekend trip to Hogsmeade, but Becca didn't really need anything, which was why the courtyard was so empty when she got there. She was used to that kind of emptiness, space all around her, and she was very much in her own bubble a lot of the time. Her footsteps were quiet, the grass muffling any sound that they would have made, and she made her way to the fountain. The flow of water, Rebecca had found, was very relaxing. It was just so easy to get lost in the sound of droplets meeting droplets as she read her books, or wrote her own theories and studied for things she did, she will and might not even need.

Placing her books on the side of the fountain, the edges not wet like you'd expect, she sat down next to them. Crossing her legs Indian style, Becca placed her books on her lap, the familiar words calming her whole being. The moment that someone passed close enough to her she would start to feel her heart speed up a little bit, with the fear of 'what if'. It sucked how that was how the blonde lived her life, in fear of really interacting with people. Sure, she had some friends from her own house, the ones she shared a room with really, but she didn't have anyone close. Never had, not since her first year because she didn't feel like she ever fitted in. That was a lonely feeling, but what drove Becca to get through Hogwarts was that she would be able to leave once her last year was finished. She would have her magic, know how to use it, but would be able to go to university and study medicine like she had always wanted.

Lost in he own little world that short while, made Becca lose her orientation a little bit. She shifted wrongly and the fact that her knee, was not in fact flat, made her books fly into the fountain. The gasp that came from her lips was shocked and frightened as she realised what had happened, and her green eyes wide as all her papers were scattered all under the flow of the fountain. "Crap! Crapcrapcrap." She chanted under her breath, the thought that she should use her wand to get the papers out of the fountain not even occurring to her, as she knelt on the side of the fountain, her hands reaching for as many papers as she could as she tried not to fall in face first. That would be way too much for her anxiety, this was already bad enough.
