Today's lesson was on thestrals, it seemed to be a nice day out and as much as he didn't want to be there himself, he was excited for this lesson. Alek read through the class attendances, checking off each student as he went down the list. A-V, Vaisey, Vaisey where was he? Alek thought to himself narrowing his eyes as he shifted through his class. Absent again? This male was batting hundreds, he never really seemed to come to class, and when he did he was hardly on time. Alek liked to think of his lectures as pretty enjoyable, it wasn't everyday one got to meet a fierce beast, that allowed you to examine it so closely. Marking a detention note, beside the seventh year's name, Alek then decided to lead the students into the forest and continue with his lesson. Most students couldn't see the creatures but some could, and he himself could view them in their habitat as well. Losing his brother, and witnessing the death, it was made clear, in his very own fifth year. The class went on for a couples hours, he enjoyed sharing details on the creatures and allowing some of the students to feed them. Protecting these creatures was his job, weather he was the grounds keeper or not. Not the that younger staff member didn't do a good job, Alek just had done this a majority of his life, found passion in it. Taking on the responsibility.
After watching the students depart he walked to the ground keeper's hut, there was a baby dragon that needed to be fed. Even if he wasn't suppose to have it, Alek had raised her from a mere egg. After deciding she was a part of his family, he couldn't let Zara go, and he spoke to the head master about taking on full responsibility for her. Alek knew the head master wasn't thrilled about the decision he had to make, but Alek was stubborn and manipulative, he naturally did have his way. Entering the hut he looked to the cage that had been opened. Alek felt his stomach turn, the things that could have happened. He thought back to the morning before he set out for his lesson. He didn't think he left the cage open, but he certainly had a quest in front of him. Alek rushed out of the hut and looked around in the sky. The baby dragon could barely fly, she shouldn't be about, something horrible could happen.
Walking toward the forbidden forest he saw the young man that decided to skip his class, a cleaver smirk crossed his lips. Well they'd have an interesting dentition task. Alek walked up behind the male playing his hand firmly on his shoulder. "I'm starting to believe you like having alone time with me, Mr. Vaisey." Alek stated sarcastically looking the boy over for a moment. "Come, we have to find something." Alek explained, he didn't want to reveal to one of his students there was a dragon on the loose. It could cause pure chaos and pandemonium amongst the school. Alek let his hand fall from Aiden's shoulder as he walked into the forest looking behind himself making sure the boy was following. As he slowed down his strut he allowed the boy to catch up. "Does my class bore you, or are you on a down spiraling mission to repeat your seventh year?" he asked unsure of the reason Aiden never showed up for class. The kid was smart when he actually put effort into his work. Alek didn't understand why he didn't just choose to participate in class. Aiden remembered looking bleary eyed from under his sheets to see the bright light pouring in of the early afternoon at Hogwarts Castle. Glancing at his alarm clock next to his bed he made note of the nearing lunch hour and then thought about whether he actually cared that he'd skipped his morning classes. Luckily on this morning he'd only had one class, however he groaned because this particular professor would one hundred percent of the time assign a detention if he could help it. Whether it was his complete absence, abundance of tardies or that he'd decided to take a nap that early in the morning there was usually a detention from Devetzi waiting for him. Aiden rolled over and swung his legs off the edge of the bed so taht he could sit up. His hair was disheveled, his head was pounding and his stomach was uneasy. Looking around he saw that his previous companion for the night had left him already, though he could see on the floor that she had left her Slytherin colored tie behind and he smirked. These nights full of fun are what distracted him and he got up despite his headache and decided that the hangover was worth it and he might as well go on with the rest of the day. Aiden attended lunch and the rest of his evening classes. Even if he didn't enjoy his classes it didn't mean that he wanted to fail and repeat a year and not graduate. As much as he was fearful of the real world without the safety and sanctity of this castle he didn't want to stay here longer than he should.
The rest of the day was uneventful and he managed to avoid receiving further detention. While he was at dinner he received an Owl in the form of a small note he was quite accustomed to receiving, a detention notice and he stuffed it in his pocket, by this point he must have received dozens of these and nobody was surprised to be quite honest. A day without him receiving detention was worth noting. After dinner he set toward the grounds where he would meet the Professor and wonder what task he would have him do this time. Normally it was feeding animals or something of the sort to help him prepare for his lesson the next day and Aiden had grown to know a bit about some of these creatures and to be honest the subject was not all that difficult for him and he managed to get along just fine in the class despite his lack of attendance. In fact, if Aiden did fail this class then he might as well have been a dead body because he knew he was going to pass this one, he just didn't want to bother to show up and prove it. Showing up in front of the forest as his note stated he put his hands in his pockets and waited, and when a hand made contact with his shoulder he almost jumped because he hadn't heard him approaching. Aiden had found himself getting lost in his thoughts much too easily as of late and it was disturbing because he was normally never caught this off guard, being unaware of his surroundings and who was there. Somehow he managed to only turn and see who had touched him and he saw the Professor, a young man with a rugged look and a look in his eye that told him this would be interesting. There was that look he had that made him perfect for his job and at the same time Aiden could say that he didn't mind the view.
I'm sure i'm the envy of all your admirers. Aiden responded sarcastically, if such behavior and banter with another Professor earned him another detention, then fine. This was his issue with the older professors as they demanded a lot more respect from the youth and the generation gap often lead to some mishaps in conversation. Aiden followed him as he started walking, was he sending him on some silly scavenger hunt to waste his time? HOpefully not because who knew what kind of mood he was in or how angry he was at Aiden's blatant disrespect of now going to class. Approaching the man he listened to his question and really wondered what he thought Aiden's excuse was because he couldn't really pinpoint why he was the way he was, just a bad habit that he had picked up on. I guess you could say it bores me, it isn't difficult for me. He admitted though the Professor would know his passing grade though it was hardly stellar. Or maybe I just need an excuse to spend time with my favorite Professor here. The staff was quite large and he didn't sound so serious with his comment though he didn't mind the cute nurse in the Hospital Wing either from his Quidditch days

Alek never quite understood why someone would skip out on his lectures. They were never too easy, and always interesting. Alek had taken a lot of time to prepare his lessons during his weekends, did these students really believe he wanted to spend his weekend that way? The man put time, and effort where it was deemed appropriate and to skip his class was like a slap to the face. Mr. Vaisey had skipped out on him many times, but it wasn't a shocker. At the age of seventeen he remembered what it was like to be reckless and carefree. The only problem was Alek never had a professor with a temper that matched his own, he was snotty and sarcastic and he could hold up a good argument. There were a handful of students who took CoMC because they enjoyed nature and being around the dangerous creatures. There was a rush being around such beautiful, immeasurable creators, at least to Alek's opinion. To no surprise the boy chose not to skip his detention. There was some thought that the boy like needed to be taught one on one, or just to be put to work and he'd succeed. Alek wasn't sure but after having him in the classroom for a couple years they saw one another on a regular detention basis.
Alek couldn't hide the dimpled smirk that crossed his cheeks at Aiden's ice breaker. A walking ego as well. "Certainly. No one spends this much one on one time with their outstanding professor. I'm sure they are very envious I allow you to constantly be my run into partner." Alek concluded. He did like to brag about his popularity, and as much as he had changed through the years the Gryffindor alumni kept that signature arrogance that defined him as a person. Alek's ego was so high he didn't take the comment sarcastically he just used it to inflate his head, and didn't respond negativity. This was one of the many that traits that most of the students did like about him. Alek wasn't too serious and he could handle most comments or attitudes. When being around creatures that normally could harm you, one had to learn to deal with every type of attitude or temperament. It had been hid job to accept those emotions, weather it be a student or a beast. Alek walked into the forest in search of a baby dragon who was far too young to be in this element. Zara was his only family, all he had was a mother who thought he was a liar and that was something one could hardly rely on. The creatures that were dependent on his presence and kindness were the only things the rugged young man cared about.
Alek asked Aiden did his class bore him, and to his response Alek narrowed his pale blue eyes. "Well fuck, that is good to know. I guess I shall just have to make your detentions more interesting, yeah?" Alek asked raising an eyebrow. He didn't like to sugar coat anything and he was glad his student could speak his heart as well, and be on a level of honesty. Alek had a nasty habit of speaking inappropriately, even during his classes. It was one of his unprofessional downfalls, but he didn't care much. The head master had witnessed it, and growing up around an alcoholic mother who constantly swearing would break it in. The second set of words caused him to snicker to himself. "You would say that. You don't need an excuse, fortunately I am not going anywhere and if you keep it up, neither are you." Alek was hardly impressed with the boy's attempt to compliment him, if he did want to spend time with his 'favorite' professor he wouldn't waste his change to gain knowledge.
The surroundings were quiet and he stopped putting his arm out to stall the boy, taking in the noises of the forest. Alek scowled as if he was waiting for a sign or something and didn't receive one. He walked forward and looked down on the ground, dragon dung. Alek could define most bowel movements due to his field of work. He still didn't speak of what they were looking for, he rather learn why Mr. Vaisey saw it fit to be such a recluse. "So what is it? Do you enjoy the thrill of hiding in the darkness, avoiding your professors and the rush it creates. Or is it more then the rush, because you're very intelligent, even if you don't apply yourself why would you want to fail?" Alek asked walking more into the forest, the dragon couldn't have been too far off due to the sigh he just received. Tagged: Aiden Vaisey Words: 792 Note: Detention adventure!Credits: Shawny!
