It had finally been Easter break, and she was excited to get away from Hogwarts. Victorie was always a free spirit. It was had to contain a soul like hers, and keep her locked away in a castle. Soon enough she had returned home, and spent her break with her family traveling to each house, making appearances along with her parents and siblings. When she stopped at her aunt Ginny's she saw Teddy, strange enough the two didn't argue but she kept her distance as done at school. Torie never intended to hurt him, she always wanted what was best for those she cared about, even if she hurt herself in the end. Not many tried to understand her disposition, nor did she really bother to explain. She felt it was ages since she made a friend, that wasn't caught up in some kind of drama. Torie missed her friends back in school. The ones who separated after graduation. The lonely feelings would eventually fade, but since Teddy was friends with most of the staff she felt highly judged and couldn't be herself around them. It was only her first year working at Hogwarts and through time she guessed things would get better.
After realizing the harsh realities of life she decided to go on a shopping spree before the break was over. Diagon Alley, where she roamed around freely with some shopping bags. Shopping was a girls best friend, if you were not Torie. She had realized she was an impulsive spender, when she was either upset or just held on to too much money. Any man would hate having a high maintenance girlfriend like Victorie, she was positive of that fact. Teddy didn't seem to mind much, but why was she over thinking about him again. Walking the cobblestone streets, she decided she may want to stop and have a couple drinks. It was late enough in the evening and just maybe she'd make a new friend, or run into an old one.
A street peddling cart that had been selling jewelery caught her attention and the thought of some moon stone earrings, was her next calling. Torie walked over picking out some things and in the mirror's reflection she saw herself, but she also in her background she saw a familiar face. Was that? Torie spun around and beamed a smile in his direction. Quickly she paid for her things and walked over to the guy. Davin Lestrange! She called out her the name of her best friend from school. They were both in the same year, and house, and he was always there for her. It had been a long time since she saw him last. Torie wondered how his life had been since then. My, you've grown up. Long time no see. said Torie, with a pearly white grin. What are you doing here? asked Torie, setting her bags down. She didn't even care that she was in the middle of on going shopper traffic, she was just too enthused to see a familiar face she missed for a while now. Torie gave him a big hug, not wanting to let go.

To say that Davin had been busy would have been an understatement. The Auror training kept him plenty busy and very few friends stayed in touch in between that for their own lives were filled with obligations. Really the main friends he socialized at all with were from the Department though he missed some of the familiar faces from school and being able to see them around and everywhere. Walking into Diagon Alley he hadn't needed anything and really just wanted a place to walk that wasn't full of students or at least wasn't the village he was always at from even his early years at Hogwarts. It was a nice change of scenery and gave him a chance to really observe the people around him in an environment that he wasn't used to. The little quirks that people did, the ones that he thought looked a little funny and acted as such but he knew were harmless. In his line of work it was very important to pay attention and know what was around you and he was pretty good at that, though nobody was perfect. Distractions where easy and he kept walked, stopping for a moment to see where he was in relation to a particular shop and then he heard his name. Almost jumping he looked and saw a blonde almost running in his direction, arms full of bags and a smile wide on her face. Davin recognized her instantly and he smiled because he couldn't help the leaping feeling in his chest at that moment. Torie was one of his very good friends from school and even though he couldn't admit it to himself sometimes he had pretty much given a piece of his heart to her if she would ever notice him handing it out to her but he why ruin a good friendship when her heart was not set on him.
Davin hugged her back, had it been that long already? I was just passing through, how have you been? He was hardly the role model on how to keep in touch with old friends but everyone had their own things going on. How long has it been? Davin moved a little to avoid being trampled by passing people and he noticed that she had a few bags with her, Why don't we find a place to sit. Davin suggested and he helped pick up her bags as he noticed an empty bench nearby. That way they would be undisturbed and not in the way of people walking by. He could remember the times they used to just sit and talk, laugh or study at school. Even when she was with Teddy and he had to fight his own jealous urges . She was the most beautiful girl that he knew but he knew what she was really like and that only added to the picture for him. It was easy to write it off as her being part veela but really it was much more than that. Davin sat down and he was really rather surprised that he still had those butterflies in his stomach and fluttering in his chest, even after all this time he felt the same and at the same time he stayed calm because he didn't quite feel so confident about the reality of those feelings ever coming to be. So tell me, what are you up to these days? His day had certainly gotten better.

It was always nice seeing a familiar face, especially when it had been so long. It took her a moment to let go of him, and when she did she looked him over for a bit. Things hadn't really changed, he did seem to have been working out. last time she heard from Davin she learned he was looking into being an auror. That could have been why he was looking good, the training and what not. Victorie thought it was nice that he was going in to a career that his family wasn't notorious for. She always liked this Lestrange, compared to his siblings. Davin was different, quiet even. He explained he was just passing through, and she nodded attentively. I've been good, just getting used to my job and being away from my family. said Torie. It wasn't like she wasn't used to being away from them, because basically stayed at Hogwarts even after graduation. Torie had worked a year at St. Mungo's but she was happy to get a job at Hogwarts where she could help younger people. It was nice making a difference doing what she was used to. Being the older cousin, she always had to mend wounds, and sooth her large family, being a healer wasn't too different. How are you? Feels like it's been ages but only a year, give or take. answered Torie being polite keeping the topic rolling. She felt a bit flustered being in the middle of on coming human traffic, so when Davin suggested they find a place to sit she was thrilled.
The blonde took a seat, crossing her legs. A bench wasn't what she had in mind, but she'd drag him to some place to grab a bite to eat, soon enough. She wanted to know what was going on in his life for the last year, but he beat her to the question. Well, I started healing at St. Mungo's but right when I got comfortable, I received an owl from Hogwarts and you know I couldn't resist. explained Torie. She had told Davin in the past she was going to be a healer, back when they used to discuss their dreams, and laugh with one another. It was nice seeing him after a year and catching up. Torie was a very family oriented girl, she always had been. With her younger cousins and siblings at Hogwarts, it was necessary to follow her career at the school. Besides that, no love life. No traveling, no fun. said Victorie, running her fingers through her hair. I never thought, I'd just be a working girl. It's gross and utterly disappointing. a bit of reality dawning on her. It had been a long time since she enjoyed a night on the town. Then she decided to redirect the question. And what about you, anything interesting going on in the complex life of Davin Lestrange? asked Torie her eyes wide, and a smile painted on her lips. Catching up with her good friend was always nice, she had to admit.

Had time flew by that fast? It sure seemed so and it was finally hitting him since he'd kind of been in his own little world for the past few years. It seeemed just like yesterday that they were sitting proudly at graduation with beaming smiles and he looked at his younger siblings and older sister as his parents had declined the invitation to attend, but no matter. He had those he actually cared about around him and that had made him extremely happy. Davin remembered that he'd hugged her and she hugged him back before going off to join the rather large family that had come out to see the first Weasley of her generation graduate from Hogwarts and he remembered the look on Lupin's face at seeing her smile while he watched from a distance. Davin could remember the sinking feeling in his chest when she told him excidetely that they were dating and he just felt at a loss because of his own growing feelings. A Lupin and a Weasley? Of course, what chance did he have. Nobody expected nor did anyone trust a union of Lestrange and Weasley, there just wasn't a chance and it wasn't possible and yet after all these years and all this time he felt the same for her. The part veela didn't know what little hold she had on him and maybe it was the fact that she had that allure but at the same their time as best friends really let him know who she really was and the person she was and it didn't phase him one bit. Where are you working now? He really hadn't a clue and he didn't like that he was so disconnected from his personal life in the world due to his work.
With such a large family as hers he would imagine the love was endless and the feeling of constant acceptance, it must have been nice in comparison to his own dark and cold childhood and upbringing. What his father felt for his children was not love or anything close but even those that emulated him he just felt their loyalty, he didn't know what love was and that sense had been lost a long time ago. Feels like forever. He smiled, and then they moved to relocate their conversation. They had much to catch up on and suddenly practicing his own training in this place was the farthest thing from his mind. In general seeing an old friend was something pleasant and he was surprised that he had kept in touch with any at all considering the time lapse. Having friends at all was something he had marveled at because of his name and such, and house placement was always tricky at school as well. Hogwarts? That's great, must be nice to be back there again. The castle had many fond memories for him and he felt more at home there than he had felt anywhere else. With her personality he knew that she would have made an excellent healer, no matter wherever she was. Though it would have been nice to run into her at St. Mungos one of these days had or would he be injured on his job. It as bound to happen and having a familiar face just made the process easier. Why don't you take a break? Everyone deserves a vacation. I don't imagine students would be getting injured at school in the summer time. Working all the time was a dismal way to live and Davin could relate to that all too well, the training consumed his life at the moment and his only solace at times was a trip to the bar or a drink at home before he passed out from exhaustion.
She asked about him and really he didn't know where to start because his life had been this whole routine for so long. Well, I moved out of my parents place and got accepted to the Auror Training Program and that literally takes up all of my time so I hardly have much for a life outside of that. If he had even attempted a relationship at this point it would have fizzled out with his own stresses and priorities, what he needed was someone who was probably as busy as he was to at least understand what kind of workload he had or someone with an indefinite amount of patience to handle such a life. So how is Hogwarts these days?
