and the voice in the speaker right now, yeah that's me yeah i'm the reason you always gettin f a d e d Her mouth was sickly sweet. She realized as she sat with her back to the fire. The common room was quiet, early in the morning or late in the night depending on how you looked at it. She sat so close to the fire that she imagined her skin busting open and her insides oozing out until she alarmed herself and scooted forward. Okay, not the best plan I have ever had she thought as she held up the now empty bottle in her hand. She had found an interesting potion, one that piqued her interest. She couldn't remember the name just then, leaning over her legs, sitting indian style. She could see the notes in the margins though, like a mix of elixir of euphoria and draught of peace.
Except it wasn't making her feel peaceful at all. She felt sort of alarmed, but in a vague suppressed way. Mostly she felt like the world was splitting apart repeatedly and coming back together crookedly, so her head was spinning and the weight of the world was going to crush her. If one had been watching her it was strange to see her move slowly, laying herself down on her stomach in front of the fire. Her face was pained, thick eyebrows knitting together. Yeah, worst idea ever she thought in a moment of clarity.
She looked around the room, her wild eyes shadowed by the light of the fire. She was searching for something to ground her, anything really, because the high she was on alarming and making her too aware of herself. She wished for a person to appear beside her, for a friend, for a lover, anyone would do really, anyone who would sit and talk to her. She thought perhaps a nice story could be told, or a few snarky comments exchanged, but the idea of putting out any extra energy was scary to her and she closed her eyes tightly. if we weren't such good friends yeah i'd wish you were d e a d [/blockquote] tags ; none, anyone :3 # of words ; 325 outfit ; here

heaven's just a rumor she'll dispel as she walks me through the nicest parts of hell
Aiden was bored, the castle was too quiet and causing mischeif was hardly on the agenda. Yes, even he grew tired of his own ways and frankly quite exhausted from the late nights. There was much on his mind and he really was mostly stuck on the fact that if he kept skipping classes he might be held back to repeat his seventh year. An embarrassment like that was not something he needed nor wanted and really for the first time he felt a little disappointing because he knew that he was a smart kid as he passed his exams quite easily it was just the matter of finding a reason to apply himself. Walking back to the Common Room he heard the crackling of the fireplace and was surprised to not see even a Prefect waiting for him on the couch. He'd managed to avoid Jack and Albus on his walking not really in the mood to talk to either, however as he walked forward he saw someone on the ground and a bottle nearby. The party seemed to have started without him as he recognized the slightly confused face and the blonde hair.
You couldn't wait for me to start the party? Aiden walked closer and picked up the bottle to examine what it was, it wasn't something he was familiar with and looking back at Adrian he saw her expression and pupils and knew this was a tad bit more than firewhiskey. The good friends were no strangers to mischief and he wasn't fazed by the site in front of him, instead he took a set on the floor to where he could lean back against the couch and provide company for her. What have you gotten yourself into this time? At least his night finally got interesting, he couldn't stand the idea of going to sleep at such an early hour. Truth be told it had been quite a long time since he'd last spoken to Adrian and quite a few things had happened however he wanted to catch up on the latest gossip she had heard and what he had heard to compile a story for both of them. The troubles of the other students were always quite a story and sometimes he was amazing about what he heard.

and the voice in the speaker right now, yeah that's me yeah i'm the reason you always gettin f a d e d She had reopened her eyes when she heard the common door room open and she prayed that it be anyone but Edmund. The idea was so alarming that she started to lift herself off the floor in order to see who it was and try to gather her wits about her. Things were alternating between too sharp and too dull and it took her a long moment to recognize Aiden. It was easy once he was close, long fingers closing on her empty bottle. She wanted to tell him it was not a party at all right now, in fact it had started as something to pass the time and be alone for a while.
She hadn't realized how terrified she had been that he was going to walk away after taking in her ultra dilated pupils and queer expression until he settled against the couch and spoke again. She felt such a rush of relief that she lay back down on the floor, her hair making a pillow for head, fanning around her face wildly. "Maaaan," she drawled, struggling to speak, but only in her mind. "Made this crazy shit, worst party ever." She said, sticking her tongue out, her voice strangely disjointed.
She paused here for a moment and with monumental effort she hoisted herself back up into sitting position. Her subconscious was telling her to pay attention, but her senses were jiving with her brain. "Wish I had saved you some, you'd prolly like it." She shook her head and chuckled, stopping sharply when her brain felt rattled. She had missed Aiden, she realized, and she grinned at him crookedly. His eyes were as wild as ever, and she suspected that they looked the same when she was sober.

heaven's just a rumor she'll dispel as she walks me through the nicest parts of hell
Aiden probably had a weird look on his face as he tried not to laugh at his friend who really exhibited all the signs of an extremely drunk person though he knew better. That's what happens when you party alone. Just like drinking by yourself, such a sad sight and not to mention a tell tale sign of an alcoholic as much as he would deny that fact and remain in denial as it stands. She sounded different, but that was the potion speaking. Even if she had saved him some he wasn't sure if he would have taken it, however in comparison to anybody else brewing random potions he trusted her and then after that the Potions Master in the castle. It easy to make something harmless and instead make something deadly which is why he only did that in class. Not even this troublemaker was willing to experiment in all areas. The crooked smile was familiar and to be honest even in her current state the light of the fire still made her look beautiful. Just another one of those situations where a pretty boy and pretty girl were just friends.
You know I prefer whiskey, which I am also fresh out of. Oh the tragedy, he'd have to sneak some from the Village on the next weekend or one of these nights through one of the secret passages. That was his favorite type of fun to sneak around and then not get caught. The thrill was fantastic and the risk giving you a sort of high you could only dream of, maybe it was an addiction, he didn't know. So what's new with you, I feel like you've been avoiding me. I"m hurt. That wasn't the case but it was the one person he could talk like this too and not have some strange response or backlash. That had been the nature of their friendship for all these years and these two frozen souls had found a friend in one another and that was that.

and the voice in the speaker right now, yeah that's me yeah i'm the reason you always gettin f a d e d She could sense his discomfort in a disjointed way, like she was feeling it through her skin, something physical and she regretted the foolish decision fresh. She could see him looking at her with wondering eyes, the concern there almost more than she could bear to stand. She was happy to see it melt a little, into her usual happy go lucky friend, the one she could always turn to for a good time. She noticed the way his eyes lingered on her and she realized that she was in a very flattering light. The idea of pushing his buttons was right there and she struggled to push it away, not a good time. She wondered if it was just the hazy euphoria making her want to make him squirm a little. "Awww, don't be like that, Aiden," she said, mock pouting at him for a moment before setting her jaw in equally comical fashion. "There is not much new with me surprisingly, just been watching everyone get spring fever except me. Got into a little funk with the seasons changing." She shrugged a little and looked away from him, troubled as she usually was by their conversations like this. "Ready to break open a few heads in Quidditch though." She said suddenly, rubbing her hands together, her eyebrows pulling low over her eyes as she grinned wickedly. "Gryffindor is going to be in for it." She said and snickered, pushing his arm gently to encourage his laughter. "What of you, sir? You have not sought me out, either, and so now I'm in my feelings," she said in a dramatic voice, holding a hand to her chest the other one extending toward him, as though she were acting out her part in a play, bursting into hysterical giggles at the end.

heaven's just a rumor she'll dispel as she walks me through the nicest parts of hell
There seemed to be something on his mind as of late that had been eternally bothering him. It was probably the fact that he was fast approaching graduation without an exit plan or at least a sense of what his future held for him. There was little he could with what his grades showed on paper and even if he was smarter than to what he applied himself there wasn't much to back it up at the moment. In the present, the girl in front of him seemed a bit out of her mind. Like she was trying to sit still and instead leaned too far in whatever direction she was moving. It was one of those things that could probably only be appreciated if one was experiencing the same high. Almost like drinking with friends, it wasn't fun if you were sober with drunk people around you and hence his excuse to drink. This was exactly what he needed, with her he could always laugh and forget about the real world and just enjoy that distraction with some with as much regard for the rules as he had. Finally, some relief for his racing mind.
At least he found some comfort in knowing that he wasn't alone in this weird mood type of situation. Maybe it was the seasons or he was just worried about being thrown in the real world to be left alone. Your friends always told you to keep in touch and that you will be friends forever, but how often did that really happen? And here I thought I was alone. They may have both been in a strange mood for different reasons but it was all the same in the end. I think it's people still trying to forget about Valentine's Day. From what he had heard as far as stories and rumors were concerned there were one too many students that had unfortunate luck on that night though he managed to fly under the radar and have his own fun as was usual with these social events. Besides, if he had even showed up to the dance they would have immediately checked the punch for alcohol and accused him and he knew that someone else had that plan already. Break some for me, sometimes I wish they would let me back on the team. His temper had gotten him thrown off a few years back but he still enjoyed watching the games in support. Aiden laughed, such the drama queen at times though she had a point. Well, my lady, I do hope you will consider my apology and accept.
Nothing that new with him however, just midnight trysts with younger boys with big blue eyes and going through the motions. Which speaking of which, he hadn't spoken to him as of late. But you know me, causing trouble and fighting off the boys and girls. She knew his history as being bisexual, really it was an open secret.

and the voice in the speaker right now, yeah that's me yeah i'm the reason you always gettin f a d e d She watched him with her strangely glittering eyes. She had found her ways to cope with the listlessness that had ensnared her over the winter. It was a difficult time of year for her the last few years and she had been properly excited to see the world coming back to life. She was still trying to the shake the feeling of heading for certain doom once the school year was over. She had a better grasp than some, but she had this terrible feeling associated with graduation.
"...valentine's day." She recalled the night only in a vague series of blurs, alcohol and some other illicit substances had kept her happy that night, she thought perhaps she had kissed someone, but she couldn't recall who. She smiled at him, turning her head a little. She just shrugged noncommittally as he continued. She had forgotten he couldn't play and felt a twinge of pity for him, but was happy to remember that he still cheered like nobody's business. " You causing trouble?" She rolled her eyes wildly. " I would never have imagined that, sir. Fending 'em off with a stick I bet," she said and snickered. " Anyone I know coming at you?" She found herself jealous of those secret meetings he had, even though she had many of the same. After a moment, she held up her hand for clarification. " More importantly anyone that is making a dent in your flawless game?" if we weren't such good friends i'd wish you were d e a d [/blockquote]

heaven's just a rumor she'll dispel as she walks me through the nicest parts of hell
Aiden couldn't tell if the looks she gave him were the affects of the potion or something else, but she looked at him strangely and he couldn't figure out why. For the moment it did not bother him because as of late most of his emotions were written plainly on his face. His father had even noted in a previous letter that in his writing he sounded off and he had yet to write back but he wasn't sure what he would tell him. The last thing he wanted was his father to feel bad about what he felt about his mother and that he had been trying to protect his son from that harsh reality by simply ignoring it. With Adrian, Aiden knew that he wasn't alone on the dread of graduation. To be honest he wasn't sure what she would do either, he just had this picture of them as roomies in a flat while he was a bartender somewhere and she whatever job she had chosen and living a mundane and routine life.
Aiden was brought back from his thoughts when she repeated his words. Valentine's Day, a silly holiday if you asked him. When he thought about it it was silly to say that on one day of the year you showed that one person how you felt about them when you shouldn't need an occasion to buy overpriced items because society told you to. For that night, however, he had spend the night with his dear old friend whiskey and then awoke in the morning with a terrible headache and a hangover he dearly regretted. Such an abusive relationship, really. The last thing he wanted to do was deal with the happy couples and smitten students sober. I never cause trouble, I study with all my free time, remember? A stretch of the truth if you asked him, but for the most part he rarely studied and got other students to write his essays for him if he could manage it. His gift was that he passed his classes and without much effort, at least his grades were average.
Aiden paused at her question, yes she did know him but he was hardly coming after him and thus far had just been a one night experience. And what if I was sworn to secrecy? You know how much I take these vows so seriously. There was a little bit of truth in that statement, but either way he did trust Adrian but he would leave the name out of this for now. However, at the mention of his game he felt his ego being boosted slightly and smirked. I have yet to meet someone who can. The person of my dreams is still hiding from me. Or maybe they were in plain sight. Sometimes you got so caught up in your own self and own activities and that it was hard to expand your scope to include the unexpected. But enough about me, what cute boys have you been stealing from me? He was joking, of course, but they did need to catch up on all the essential topics.

and the voice in the speaker right now, yeah that's me yeah i'm the reason you always gettin f a d e d I never cause trouble, I study with all my free time, remember? "Pffffffft." She made a long noise, shaking her head, realizing it was a bad idea a little too late. Her mind was processing strangely, sensations too slow and too fast all at once. She struggled to stay focused on him, her blue eyes bright in the fire as she stared at him oddly. His words took a few seconds to make sense for her to form a response, a delayed smile. She snickered despite herself at his ego talking. She had read between the lines though, or thought she did, her rationale a little less than logical. She didn't want to press the topic for him and she let it roll right on away into the night. Despite what many thought, she was sensitive to others. She normally just didn't care enough to censor herself for their comfort. She was beginning to think it was a character flaw, but she wasn't sure she cared enough to change it. It left her in a big circular line of thought and as she considered it, spacing out for a moment, she was disturbed by it as always. Her eyes flicked back to him, she thought very suddenly, but in reality she blinked very slowly as she looked at him. "This is mostly the trouble I have been causing. Couple snog sessions here and there with Mr. Sinister," she said off handedly and shrugged. 'Mr. Sinister' was her newly found nick name for James Potter. "Found myself strangely interested in a few ladies too, but you know how that goes. You never know with them. Men are less messy in general." She said, waving her hands vaguely around as she talked. She gave him a sidelong look. "Honestly, I've been freaking out a bit, like this year is really our last hurrah. We'll be out on our arses soon enough right? The big wide world will be ours for the taking." She smiled and nudged him. "But I'm like what am I doing with my life and why am I considering all this nonsense anyway? Making plans is such a waste to me, like I never stick to the plan anyway. Freestyle!" She said this rather loudly, laughing suddenly, her hand going to her mouth. "Sorry, I amuse myself, you know. But no, really, my mom is on my case about figuring out a plan. She said that by the end of the summer I've gotta have my own place and she doesn't really care if it's a cardboard box. Who says that to their kids?" She looked at him, mouth scrunched up, wrinkling her nose as if she smelled something strange. "I don't know, Aiden, just don't know anymore. I'm just gonna sell illicit potions and say screw it. I feel like I should be like getting married or something, like what do you do when you leave Hogwarts? Start doing what 'you are supposed to do.'" She used her fingers to quote it, sneering in disgust, the expression more extreme due to her state of intoxication. heaven's just a rumor she'll dispel as she walks me through the nicest parts of hell
The idea of Aiden Vaisey studying willingly was not only humorous but slightly preposterous. It just wasn't happening, he didn't have the will power to just sit down and read a book or write a paper. It was not one of those good study habits that had been ingrained in him early enough to stick. It didn't mean the was stupid by any means, just lazy and unwilling to apply himself even with graduation looming he was still a barely average student. Adrian caught his sarcasm there and he would hope she had because if she thought he was actually studying then he must have been drunk already. The effect of that potion was still looming and he could tell by her movements and even in her eyes when she sat still long enough for him to look at them properly. Aiden had been sort of kidding when he said he wanted to protect the identity of his latest fling, but since she did not press the issue then he didn't mention more on that topic. It was something that had lingered in his mind and he tried his best not to turn it into something that it was not and not make it more than it was, but he couldn't help it. The unlikely hood of that pairing was what had him perplexed. He rolled his eyes, what anyone saw in that man was beyond him. Sure the looks and the quick smile where there but behind the pretty face was such an arrogant ass that he could not stand his presence, more or less dare touch him. In fact, Aiden had once punched him during a Quidditch match getting thrown out of that game as well. " 'Mr. Sinister', that's a new one. He commented, they both were sort of laid back with these dealings and therefore it made it easy to talk about .
Yes, you women are more trouble than you are worth. It was typically stereotyped that women were more drama than men but he could find drama in any person really so he was sarcastic on that note. We could always open up a bar, but then we might drink all the alcohol ourselves. He pretended to seriously contemplate this, in his mind he was still at a blank and with time running out he just pushed it farther and farther away until he was forced the day before graduation to make a decision or even the day after he moved out of the castle itself. It was not important right now and what was the point if it was likely to change, she was right. Freestyle was probably the best option. At least your mother gives you the time of day to even tell you that. Aiden was still sarcastic but it was still a sensitive note and she knew his whole deal with his mother without the mother gene. He was an accident and that was how he had been treated for the better part of seventeen years. When has 'doing what you're supposed to do' ever entertained us? That's boring, I'd rather wing it. Aiden readjusted how he was sitting to be more comfortable. 'Freestyle' he echoed her previous words, then again she had a point. No plan and nowhere to go, but on her current trip he didn't want to be negative.
