Easter break was one he had always learned to spend at the castle. Along with most breaks actually. Alek didn't see the need to travel home and visit his biological mother because she didn't deserve it, nor would he give her the satisfaction of knowing he craved a bond with her. Over the years he had learned to be live on his own, becoming a cold individual one that never knew family. It wasn't necessarily true, but when he lost his brother and divorced his partner, he was through with wanting emotional attachments. It only brought him down, and either everyone that got close to him got hurt, or hurt him. Emotions were beyond him, he did long for a bond of loyalty however, someone that would eventually accept him for who he was. Though on the surface he wouldn't admit that. Alek didn't mind his cold persona, it suit the tortured soul that made him, his own being.
It had been late afternoon and Alek had went to Hogsmeade buying food for the animals he took care of. Though Brett had been the grounds keeper, Alek always felt he was close enough to the animals for them to long for his presence. They were his only emotional attachments, along with his own baby dragon. Alek walked along the heard of thestrals feeding them their meat. He had went shopping for the creatures and himself. Alek knew most of the professors went home, but he'd have extra if anyone was still around and hungry. Alek was hardly feminine, but he was a star chef. Growing up he taught himself to cook, it wasn't totally uncommon for a man to be able to feed himself, and whom ever he was involved with. Alek smiled at the youthful thestrals fighting over a scrap of meat, as beautiful as these creatures were they were highly misunderstood. Like himself actually, tough looking on the outside, but more to them then what met the eye. After he was done he made his way to the castle. Alek would spend some time in the professors lounge and have dinner, most likely alone, and have his own party. He had gotten himself a large bottle of scotch to keep him company. Merlin knew, Alek was one of the only professors to get drunk and wonder the castle. With age came maturity, but he wasn't going to break his mischievous Gryffindor habits over night.
Alek wasn't aware why he had been made head of house, he wasn't very responsible, so it mus have been because he was the 'cool' professor and got along with most of the students. Alek didn't like to brag but his students seemed to enjoy his lectures as much as he liked giving them. With a few exceptions of course. Alek made his way to the professor's lounge and set things up. As expect it was empty so he'd use this time to concur the kitchen area. Alek had bought steak, red skinned potatoes and asparagus. It was going to be a very nice dinner he thought, all of more he wished he had someone to share it with. Alek sighed and started to marinate his steak in Italian dressing, and then went to peel the potatoes. His passion for cooking came with being a single male, one had to learn to feed himself when he chose to be a loner. After preparing the food he put it in the magical oven and decided to needed to have a drink now. It was best to start before he got lonely and began to talk to himself.
Alek poured himself a nice glass of scotch and took a seat, having a full glass before he learned the over signify his steak was cooked, medium rare. Alek pulled it from the oven, the smell of streak, and garlic potatoes filling the area, Alek placed it on the stove top to cool, before having another drink. Well this was one way to enjoy his break he must say. Alek felt a light haze consume him, and suddenly he was caught off guard by another male entering the room. It was Timothy, he got along decently with most of his colleagues and knew them on a first name basis. Alek decided when he first began it work, it was best to be friendly with his co-workers so he wouldn't hate his job. Being an adult he needed someone to speak to of age. "Timothy, why are you not away for the holiday? Decide to stake it out here?" Alek asked, looking at his glass. He hoped the professor of charms didn't mind his habits. Alek turned to pull the potatoes, and asparagus out the oven. "Are you hungry? I've made plenty of dinner, tonight we could feast like kings." Alek stated, so what if he was slightly intoxicated. He was always nicer in this state. "You must try my steak tips." Alek said, he was a little hyped up actually now, and less miserable then expected. Alek cut a piece of steak and pushed a fork into it, bring it over to the older male. "Open up, yeah?" Alek said holding it up to Timothy's mouth, waiting for him to accept the bite. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -There was one thing to be said for the mini holiday breaks that the castle got for certain holidays, like Christmas and Easter. Timothy enjoyed the solitude of the castle and the stillness of it when there weren’t so many children running amuck. Not that he disliked children or anything, quite the opposite, but there was so much more to do when he didn’t have to make sure he was behaving properly around the students and setting a good example for them. Tim wasn’t a bad guy at all, and he wasn’t one of those men who acted foolishly or as a child, but even he liked to let loose every now and again.
One of the best parts of the kids being gone is that he can actually go for a run without his short on. He would on a normal basis, but some older students liked to stare, which made him a bit uncomfortable, so he didn’t usually do it. He was confident that he would never have to worry about the students getting the wrong idea. He might be a kind and caring man, but he knew better than to ever cross a line with a student. Hell, even crossing the line with a fellow staff member was difficult because there was never any guarantee that it would last and that could create a lot of tension in the workplace.
He had been at his parents’ house for a couple of days, spending time with them, his aunt and his cousin Lincoln, and had returned to Hogwarts that day. He left earlier than initially planned, but he only had a few days left at the castle before the kids returned and he wanted to enjoy them while he could. He knew that there would be only a small number of students and staff still at Hogwarts for the holiday break, but that was far better than everyone. That was why the first thing he did when he got back to the castle from visiting with his parents was go for a long run.
When he was done, he went back up to his living quarters and took a shower and changed into just a pair of black jeans and a grey tee shirt. He didn’t need to wear his robes since school wasn’t actually in session so he left them on the hanger and left his office again. He was hungry and he figured that the kitchens would be the best place to find something to eat. As he went past the professor’s lounge, he smelled something really good and couldn’t help but poke his head in to see what smelled so good. He had just entered the room when the Care of Magical Creatures professor, Aleksander Devetzi, was just sitting down with a glass of something.
“I actually just got back today,” he said when Alek asked why he wasn’t away for the holiday. “I went to my parents for a couple days, but then decided to spend the last few days of the break here enjoying the peace and quiet,” he said. Alek had then gone over to the oven and pulled out some vegetables and asked if he was hungry. “Well, if there is enough, I’d love some. It smells great,” he said as he moved further into the room. Alek had told him that he needed to try his steak tips and Timothy watched as the younger professor moved over to him with a piece of steak on a fork and held it out to him.
Tim wasn’t the type to be fed by others, but he wasn’t about to start a fight with a colleague in the professor’s lounge when there was a masterful meal waiting to be eat. He opened his mouth and took the piece of meat into his mouth and began to slowly chew on it. His mother always taught him to chew food slowly so that he could savor the flavor of the food. It made it taste better and it helped digest the food better if it was chewed well. “It’s very good,” he said as he took a step to the side and moved over to one of the chairs and took a seat. “What have you to drink with it?” he asked curiously.

Alek hadn't expected to see anyone tonight, he assumed most of the other professors had places to live and what not, but he couldn't say he wasn't glad Timothy had walked through the door. Alek was used to eating alone, he did most things alone recently, but something about tonight made him want to share his night. It mad have been the alcohol he consumed, or it just might have been his lonely heart reaching out for company. What ever the case may have been, he was ready for the evening. Alek couldn't help himself when he wanted someone near, it was like his whole life he was set up to lose people, therefore he got used to being lonely. It wasn't a bad thing, because this way no one could hurt him, no emotional attachments, no problems. He listened to Timmy speak of how he just got back, and Alek nodded, continuing to pulled the food from the oven. Alek couldn't disagree, when those students came back things would get loud again. It was times like these where the professors actually got to relax and grade their papers in peace. Alek still had a couple exams to grade but he worked best under pressure so he'd save them for the night before the students returned.
"I don't know how you do it, teach in a classroom. All those loud children, I'd go postal being locked inside, for a long period of time. So utterly, you would enjoy this quiet, I guess I'm used to it." Alek reflected thinking of what the professors who taught inside must have dealt with. Alek guessed it was just the circumstances, and this way why he loved being the CoMC professor, it suited his personality perfectly. Alek had offered dinner, and at Timothy's words he rolled his eyes. "I offered didn't I? Of course there is enough." he commented sarcastically. Alek wouldn't have asked, but he guessed the other professor was just being polite. With a dimpled, devious smirk on his lips, Alek walked over insisting the other professor try his steak. Timothy didn't object and he watched him take the piece of meat from the fork. Alek turned his back almost immediately, to the older male, walking back to the preparation area. It had been a long time since he last fed a man, since he last cared to be generous and sweet. It made a flood of emotions wave in his heart. Luckily he heard the professor's question about his drink and Alek snickered. "Triple malt scotch, you care to let loose Tim? For fucks sake, we all need a bit of excitement in our lives now and again." Alek urged grabbing a second glass filling it. He looked to the seating area and walked over placing the fresh glass down for Timmy to have. Alek guessed he could have let the other male pick his seat, but Alek was used to being in control and he liked things perfectly when having dinner.
Making his way back to the preparation area he set up two plates, with plenty of meat and vegetables. Alek grabbed utensils and walked over setting a plate in front of Timothy, he also set his plate across from the other man. Alek sipped his drink and then began to cut his steak. He took a piece and placed it into his mouth savoring the flavor. What a great chef he was, after the past two years he still had it. Alek wasn't know for many talents that went out side of his profession, but this was certainly one he could be proud of. Alek took a few more bites making a dent in his plate before he leaned back in his seat over looking the other male. It occurred to him, he didn't know much about the charms professor, perhaps this night he could break the ice and investigate. The man was very attractive, Alek was sure he was strong and rugged, if only he could see what was under those... Alek blinked and paused from his thoughts. Alcohol, that tricky little substance. "So your parents house? I was sure you'd have a very attractive lady friend to spend the holiday with, down on your game?" Alek asked, he liked to get certain things out in the open, though he didn't like to talk about his own love life. Alek had been in a mistake of a marriage, and he was glad it was over. His love like looked like an endless eternity of pain and loneliness. This was why he picked up painting, you could see the pain in his art without him having to express his torn heart. Then again, he was pretty sly, and could turn around the thoughts of another easily. Tagged: Timothy Walker Words: 797 Note: Hee :] Credits: Shawn!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Timothy wasn’t naïve enough to think that no one stayed here over the holidays. He knew they did, both students and staff alike, so finding Alek in the professor’s lounge wasn’t a total surprise to him. As far as Timmy was concerned, Alek remained at Hogwarts every holiday and even the summer. Timothy always went home, even if just for a couple of days, though he generally spent the entire summer with his parents because he didn’t see them as much during the year, plus he got to see his cousin Lincoln as well. That sometimes made the former Hufflepuff wonder if the man had any family to spend those times with, but he would never ask because it wasn’t his place, nor his right, to ask such a question. For all he knew, Alek’s family could be dead and Timmy didn’t want to bring up such a sore topic.
Timothy chuckled softly when Alek told him that he didn’t know how he managed to be inside the castle, in a classroom, all the time and how he would go postal if he had to deal with the loud kids all day long. “They’re not that bad,” Timothy said with a shrug of his shoulders, “or at least some of them aren’t,” he added as more of an afterthought. It was true too. Not all of the kids were that bad, though some of them even Timothy had to admit he wanted to throttle on occasion. “But everyone can appreciate some peace and quiet every now and then, especially when always surrounded by, as you call them, loud children,” Timothy told him. It was likely different for Alek, being an elective teacher and being outside more often than not. To each their own though, and Timothy was content where he was in the castle.
When Alek offered him some food, Timothy accepted, but said that as long as there was enough. He didn’t respond to Alek’s sarcasm about how he offered because the former Hufflepuff didn’t see a need to. Yeah, he did offer, but he could have done it as a formality, since Timothy was there, and not because he had cooked enough for more than himself. From the surprised look on Alek’s face, and with his initial question of Timothy’s presence, Timothy was sure that Alek didn’t initially start cooking with the intent of sharing his meal. When Timothy usually cooked without any prior knowledge of someone else joining him, he didn’t cook that much because he would see it as more of a waste than anything else, even if he would eat the leftovers eventually. Timothy took the offered fork with meat on it and chewed it as Alek then returned to the food and began to ready two plates. It was good, Timothy couldn’t deny that, but he was sure that Alek already knew that.
He asked the other man what he had to drink with the meal and Timothy arched an eyebrow when he was told that there was triple malt scotch and Alek asked if he wanted to let loose. “Not sure one drink will make me let loose, but I’ll take one to start,” he said to the younger wizard. Timothy had no intention of getting drunk and he was confident that one drink wouldn’t put him on his ass. Timothy could hold his liquor, and well, so he didn’t have to worry much about one drink. Plus, there were not many students in the castle now, so he wouldn’t have to worry about them either. Timmy moved over to the sitting area and sat down in front of the seat where Alek had placed the second glass. He reached for it and took a sip, feeling the liquid burn as it went down his throat.
Timothy watched Alek as he got the two plates ready and brought them over to the table. Timothy couldn’t help but notice how good looking the Care of Magical Creatures professor was, but he dismissed those thoughts once the plate of food was set in front of him. “It looks great,” he said as he picked up his fork. He began to eat and then looked up at Alek when he said he thought Timothy would have had a special lady friend to spend his holidays with instead of his family. “I don’t actually, and my family is very important to me, so I try to spend as much time with them as I can,” he told the younger male. “what about you? You spend a lot of time here. Don’t you have a family to visit with?” he asked, since he brought up the subject and all.

Alek couldn't help to smile when Timothy commented about the students not being that bad. It was just like a Hufflepuff, to look at things from an optimistic point of view. That nature wasn't bad, Alek had just been to used to being free. The thought of being trapped inside with a bunch of rambling students would have driven him mad, but some professors could handle it. This was mostly the case. Alek liked being outside, being an elective professor have him free time, to bond with the creatures. Some may have thought Alek's job was difficult as well, dealing with temperamental beasts whom didn't want a professor, let alone a group of students observing them. There were perks to eat he guessed, but he didn't further comment on the topic of those loud prats.
When Timothy appeared in the room Alek was glad he had company. He didn't like the thought of being that weird drunk guy, speaking to himself. It wasn't his style, and he'd be thrilled to share his food. Alek was used to making extra food, because he often shared with the grounds keeper. Alek told Timmy that he invited him to eat, so he wanted him to. There was nothing other then that, and he'd be insulted if the other man didn't join him, now his offer was out in the clear. Also with eating, Alek suggested Timothy had a drink and let loose with him for the evening. There were no ulterior motives as of now, just two guys and a bottle. Alek had more at the hut, if they needed more. When Timothy commented on a single drink not being enough he smirked. "Daring, got to love a high tolerance." Alek commented after feeding him that single bit of meat. "For that reason, I have this bottle now." Alek lifted it showing Timmy the amount left. "And another at the hut. After eating it may be best to travel there, and avoid being inebriated in the castle." Alek suggested walking the plates over to the seating area. "It beats being trapped inside these castle walls, and gives us a chance to take a walk." he added. Alek wasn't the type to want to generally stay in one play when drinking, he liked to venture else where. "You're welcomed to have as much as you'd like." Alek told Timmy. He was sure the favor would come back around some day.
As he started to eat, he loved the different explosions of flavor, dancing on his taste buds. His cooking skills were probably one of many traits his ex-husband must have missed about him. It gave him great pleasure to know he was a great chef, and could satisfy someone with great food. His blue eyes lifted, watching Timothy eat for a moment, the other professor had beautiful eyes, he'd admit that. For an older male he was very handsome, not that it was Alek's job to think in that way. It was just obvious. It came as a slight shock when Timmy said he didn't have a lady friend to spend the break with. Well that was interesting, Alek smiled devilishly, at his current thoughts. Alek didn't want to assume or pin anything to the man, without knowing facts. Timothy said his family was important, and asked Alek did he spend a lot of time here at the castle. Did he have family to go home to? Alek took another bite of his dinner, chewing it. "Those biological ties..." Alek said almost questioning. "I like spending time at the castle, with the creatures, they are practically family. See, I do visit my mother but it's more of annual thing, like going to church on a Christmas or Easter. No one really wants to do it, it's sort of something you have to do. To see if anything changed." Alek said with a smug look, as he continued to eat to his fill.
Alek never got along with his mother, he hated being called a liar and when around her it just reminded him of what a piece of work she was. It reminded him why he didn't like women. His mother was a drunken, pardon his thoughts whore, that didn't believe him when he was molested, didn't care for him at all. She was selfish, and somewhere he thought she'd change with time. Alek always gave her a chance to prove his thoughts wrong, but it never changed. It was destine that he'd hate the women that raised him, no, he raised himself. Birthed him, for a better use of words. Then there was that saying, you only had one mother. So he tried to believe she was still that loving mother before his father changed her. Alek didn't like to think, let alone speak of anything relating to his past. He was just blunt and out there with his thoughts, and opinions, therefore he answered honestly. Alek finished most of his food, and he leaned back and took a sip of his scotch. "It's nice that you're a family oriented man. A rather admirable quality." Alek admitted out loud, wanting to take back his words the moment they flowed out of his trap. It was just a compliment, Timothy shouldn't think more of it. Alek wondered why Timothy didn't have a girlfriend, or wife. He was at that age where it seemed necessary. Even Alek screwed up and got married. Alek felt his manipulative side set in, and now he needed to know more. "Why the bachelor life? It seems you are attractive, smart, with good morals, and you'd have more going on in that aspect of life." Alek questioned, it was none of his business but he'd figure he'd give it a go since he was being honest. Tagged: Timothy Walker Words: 966 Note: Credits: Shawn!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Timothy liked to have a drink like the next guy, but he wasn’t a drunk nor did he feel the need to have to get drunk every time he did drink. He could have one or two drinks and still be completely coherent and that was more than fine for him. He didn’t feel his life was that unbearable that he needed to drink all the time, or that often. Sure, he might enjoy a beer, a glass of wine, or something stronger at the end of a long day, but he didn’t drink half a bottle so that he would be half in the bag. He liked to be aware of his surroundings and his actions. He didn’t like being a fall down drunk and he certainly wasn’t going to get shitfaced while he was within the castle walls where he could easily be caught by the Headmaster and, possibly, fired. When Alek told him that he had the rest of the bottle present and then more down in his hut, Timothy nodded. “Guess we’ll see how I feel after I eat and drink here before making plans to venture out of the castle,” he said. He wasn’t trying to be rude, but he might not want to go down to Alek’s afterwards to drink more. It would all depend on how he was feeling.
As the pair began to eat, Alek asked him about his personal life, including his family and whether he had a girl waiting for him ‘on the outside’ of Hogwarts. Timmy told him that he didn’t have a girlfriend or a wife, but that his family was very important to him. And it was. Timmy learned from an early age, when his younger cousin Lincoln was born, that family was very important and that they should always be there to help one another when it was needed. He wasn’t naïve enough to believe that every single family was like that because, let’s face it, they weren’t. Each one was different in some way and Timmy knew that his was much closer than some families. And that was okay; Timmy would never think less of someone because they weren’t close with their family, just as he wouldn’t want someone to think less of him because he was close with his. He asked Alek about his own family, unsure of what that relationship was like, and listened as Alek told him. Timothy nodded but frowned when Alek said that he only visited his mother annually, on Christmas, and then when he eluded to the idea that he didn’t even want to do that. “I’m sorry things aren’t good with your mother,” he said softly. “What about your father?” he asked, hoping he wasn’t going too far.
Timothy continued to eat is meal and drink the drink Alek had poured for him. The scotch with the steak tips went very well with one another and he made a mental note to compliment Alek on his cooking skills once more, when he was done with his meal. Alek had then told Timothy that he found it admirable that he was such a family orientated man. Timothy shrugged his shoulders. “I just learned from an early age that family is important and that they should help each other,” he said after he finished chewing the food in his mouth. “My aunt and cousin were in a bind when he was born and needed help, and we helped them,” he said without a second thought, though he didn’t elaborate much further than that. He would if Alek asked, but he wouldn’t offer that freely. Alek then asked why he chose the bachelor life and Timothy shrugged his shoulders once more. “I’m just not looking to settle down right now. It’s not important to me right now, so I don’t see the point in pretending it is,” he said before taking the last bite of food into his mouth. “How about you then? You have a special someone waiting for you on the outside?” he asked, though Timmy was sure he knew the answer to that. If he did, wouldn’t he venture off the castle grounds more often than he did?

Alek wasn't an everyday drinker, but he was certainly accustom to wanting to drink when he felt like it. Alek did have a professional side, and he was sober most nights, but tonight he wanted to enjoy himself. Alek had already had a bit to drink, or he would be certainly more reserved then the was being. This side came out when he was a happy intoxicated, Alek didn't really like being alone, so he invited Timothy to come with him to the hut. At the other man's words he just smirked and nodded. Everyone had a choice in life, he couldn't force the Charms professor to accompany him, but he did want it. Alek always got what he wanted, and he didn't think Timmy got that. Soon enough he would, he felt denied in a way. Caught on a fence between yes, and no. Alek hated waiting for an answer, so to avoid that he'd reconsider. "I don't mean to make you feel pressured or anything, just an idea mate." Alek told him. Really, if Timothy didn't want to he'd just go himself. There was no use missing the sunset to stay inside the castle, where it was stuffy and not his first choice of places to be.
On the topics of traveling home to holidays, he found himself being rather sarcastic, and appealing honest for a change. Alek didn't have much family, the only person he really cared for from his past was his young brother. Alek was sure it was in the daily prophet at some point or another, how the two boys got hit by that truck in London. Alek recovered, and his little brother paid the ultimate price. It hurt him more then he could say, and he felt responsible for it all. It was his father for not being more observant, paying more attention to the only person he cared for. Scarring him deeply, he decided he just didn't like to be home around memories. Alek was callous now a days, he didn't even feel the remorse anymore. Detaching from most of his emotions and past ties was what he decided was best. He didn't really look back, but only annually to see if his mother changed from the drunk harlot he knew her to be. Timothy apologized about his mother, and Alek shrugged. "No reason to apologize mate, everything happens for a reason." Alek said abruptly. Then Timothy dug a little deeper and he put his hand on his chin trying to recall his father. "I don't have one, never really did. My father passed on at a young age. I never really had a family in general. It's not something I asked for, it's the challenge I've been dealt." Alek told Timothy. Maybe, if he had a family that actually cared, he wouldn't have been such a cold being, wouldn't have been who he was today.
Timothy went on about how family was important, and to some it may have been. At least to the man in front of him. Alek nit picked at his remains of food, he was stuffed at this point. Sipping from his glass he listened to the other man speak of his aunt being in a bind, but he wasn't sure he should ask more. If the other male wanted to share with him he would, prying was something he did when he wanted something, Alek didn't want to bring up any tender moments. Though his seemed to already be out in the open, he didn't think it was too important, if anything speaking of his lack of family, may answer why he lack of manner, or remorse in general. However, Timmy wanted to elaborate he'd listen. "That was kind of you." Alek said, but he was sure Timothy already knew that. Somewhere he wished he had that contentment, where someone just needed him, this wasn't the case. As the topic switched Alek listened to Timothy state it wasn't important for him to settle down. Alek could respect that because in a way he could relate. When Timothy asked him he swirled his drank and finished the glass. He got to his feet and noted they were both finished with their food. Alek took it upon himself to remove the plates and put them into the enchanted sink where they'd be cleaned. Alek grabbed the bottle of scotch and and refilled both their glasses, and took a seat thinking about his love life.
It was dry in that department, sure he had his little rendezvous on occasion where he felt like it, but after a failed marriage he didn't commit anymore. "Love isn't really my forte. I tell you a failed attempt at partnership will do that to someone. Other then that, I do my thing. But no one special, in those standards." Alek was just being honest, he took another drink to get his mind off the topic. Alek got comfortable in his seat, he loved the chairs in the staff lounge, the were leather and very nice might he add. Timothy seemed to be a nice person apposed to Alek's dark side. It was certainly interesting to be getting along with someone who was different. Alek had been friends with Sar because they both had similar interests, and parts of their personalities meshed nicely. Timothy was different though, if Alek knew anything it was to observe, and be skeptical of those nicer ones. Placed a Hufflepuff proved his judgment of being friendly, and nice to be true. Plus he just witnessed it. Alek felt a bit antsy, he didn't like being in one setting for too long, but he also didn't want to stumble the castle drunk. There were a couple obligations he had yet to meet, he hadn't fed Zara, his pet dragon and love. It would be nice to let her fly around the forest for a bit and give her some proper exercise. "Well, there is a baby dragon I have committed to, I'm pretty sure she's famished and needs some time to roam freely. Once again you're welcomed to join me, but if not, I must thank you for keeping me company and enjoying a brilliant meal." Alek told Timothy. He was a bit light on his feet, but he got up anyways, he didn't want to be in the castle anymore, feeling trapped. It was evening time, he always caught the sunset. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Timothy nodded when Alek told him that going down to his hut for something more to drink after they were done in the staff lounge was just an idea. “No, I get that, and I may very well go, but you know how sometimes one can feel tired after they’ve eaten and had a couple of drinks,” he said, hoping that Alek didn’t take his initial comment about the suggestion in the wrong way. Timmy wasn’t saying that he wouldn’t dare go with the Care of Magical Creatures professor. He meant exactly what he said; he’d have to see how he felt. It had already been a long day for Timmy between being with family and now being back at Hogwarts, couple that with a good meal and a drink or two and that could easily send Timmy into a peaceful slumber.
When the topic of family came about, Timothy expressed his apologies for the failed relationship Alek had with his mother, followed by asking about his relationship with his father. Timmy could never imagine not being on good terms with his parents. They’ve always ben tight knit, to he had to remind himself often that not everyone was the same way with their families. Timmy’s eyebrows rose substantially when Alek first told him that he didn’t have a father. They lowered and furrowed when Alek then told him that his father passed when he was a young boy. “I’m sorry to hear that,” he said with a nod of his head. Timmy was glad to still have his father, something that his own cousin Lincoln would never know for himself. Though, in his case, he was better off, or so Timmy thought.
Timmy shrugged his shoulders when Alek told him that it was kind of him to help out his aunt and cousin when they were in a bind. “It’s not a big deal really. There wasn’t a second thought about it, to be perfectly honest,” he said before taking another sip of his drink. “My aunt was raped by some guy, whose identity we still do not know, which is how she got pregnant with my cousin,” he said as he put his glass back down on the table, “and she needed help raising him, so we helped,” he said. “You might actually know my cousin. He is a few years younger than me; was a Gryffindor and played Quidditch, both for the school and professionally for a couple of years. He works for the Ministry now though, since he went partially blind from a Bludger to the temple,” Timmy said.
The topic of relationships made Timmy a bit uncomfortable. He has been struggling with his own sexuality for some time, though he'd never admit that to anyone else. His family often asked him why he hadn’t yet settled down, and he always gave the same answer he just gave Alek. Not really wanting to discuss that concept any further, he turned it back around to Alek and asked him why he didn’t have someone. Timmy then noticed that Alek had said he failed in a partnership, which made the older wizard wonder if Alek was into guys, but he knew better than to ask. That would just make him feel all sorts of awkward and he wasn’t really in the mood for that. For now, at least, Timmy would have to keep those thoughts and feelings to himself, as he wasn’t ready or willing to really divulge such information about himself.
Alek then told Timmy that he had a pet dragon to tend to and Timmy nodded his head at him. “I understand,” he said as he rubbed his palms on his thighs before he stood up himself. Timmy picked up his glass and drained the rest of the alcohol form it into his mouth and then put the glass down. “I should probably head up to my room as well,” Timmy said, though suddenly finding himself the least bit tired and wanting another drink, “but I think I may take you up on that offer of another drink,” he said as he stretched his hands over his head for a moment before bringing his arms back down to his sides. “At least one drink,” he said.

After eating he wasn't exactly sure how he'd feel either. Eating could make one very relaxed and lazy. Alek guessed alcohol just made him a bit hyper, he enjoyed feeling light on his feet, and running into things to do. Alek even taught slightly buzzed sometimes, it all depended on how he woke up in the morning. The CoMC professor was professional, but if his morning was off, he'd certainly need something to keep him sane while dealing with some of his slacking students. A dash of whiskey in the coffee never hurt anyone, Alek was sure. His tolerance was poor because he often didn't sleep much. Alek didn't like to sleep his nights away as so he was forced to be a morning person, his liking was much more into the depth of the night. "That's very true, I guess drinking just makes me a bit hyper. I forget sometimes other's can keep up." Alek replied, in an almost challenging tone. The confidence of the Gryffindor Alumnist was never dull.
Alek found himself being very blunt and straight forward about his mysterious past. It wasn't the past that shaped his mysterious persona, but it was part of who he was. Alek wasn't really one to just open up, but something about the other man didn't really make him seem threatened. That or the fact he was letting the alcohol speak for his honesty. Once again Timothy had told him he was sorry to hear what Alek was saying. Alek suffered from abandonment issues, and also some trauma. Wasn't life about struggles and over coming them. Alek knew someone had it worst out there, so he didn't accept most sympathy. However, since Timothy seemed to not judge him he didn't revoke the action. Taking in a deep breath, had felt himself more relaxed.
When Timothy stated to explain his life's situation Alek listened. Wow, that must have been tough of the boy he was helping out. It seemed sweet for Timmy to give up his own life for this child, Alek found a liking to his compassion. "That's awful, sorry to hear that. Your very noble to give up your own childhood." The last name Walker rung a bell because Alek played quidditch as well when he was in school. Lincoln was a few years younger then him, and they had been on the same team. "I do believe I know him, Lincoln. Respectful, passionate boy. I see where he gets is from." Alek said. It was a slight compliment, but when calling Lincoln a boy, Alek felt foolish because he wasn't too far off, nor was Timothy for that matter. Age was a strange thing, it never waited for anyone, or had exceptions.
Alek had brought up the topic of relationships and he had been a bit open, but not enough ti fully expose his preference. Alek had noted his choice of words, partnership but he wasn't a liar nor was he not proud of who he was. Alek didn't really think much of love anymore, he sort of shut down those emotions and had a brief fling when it felt necessary. Love, no one needed it if it wasn't genuine, and he was over all hurt about his failed attempt to be with someone. Alek found it quite sad he had never been a quitter, but he gave up on the topic of romance. The future seemed bleak, but he wasn't fighting for anyone to be by his side. The loyalty was what he craved the most and the attention that he got. Acceptance and understanding, someday it would happen. Alek didn't plan to die alone. Until then he had his creatures to keep him company, he fell in love with each as time went on. Zara, his baby dragon he had, had her from a mare egg. He hadn't cried in quite some time since that egg hatched, but he couldn't help to raise her as his own.
Speaking in which, Timothy had said he wanted another drink. He understood Alek's commitment to his sweet, and he'd come along? Alek wasn't sure but why would he stand if that were not the case. Alek quickly cast a cleaning charm, waving his wand to make the room appear untouched. Even if the students couldn't enter the staff lounge, he wasn't fully comfortable being intoxicated inside. There were still students, and professors and elves watching. Alek was almost paranoid when he wasn't in the hut or the forest. As the grounds keeper, Alek found the hut rather homey and safe. Alek grabbed the the bottle and shoved it into the bag. He waited for Timothy and made his way to the school grounds. "Ever notice how empty this place is without all the students?" Alek said, not really a soul in sight. He walked to the hut and unlocked it entering. Alek looked around and then walked over to the lather couch taking a seat. Once settled he refilled the each glass and leaned back. "Well don't just stand there, make yourself at home." Alek said. Tagged: Timothy Walker Words: 868 Note: None Credits: Shawn!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Timmy was glad that Alek understood what he meant when he said he had to see how he felt after however many drinks he had in the staff lounge and after he ate dinner. He hadn't meant to offend the man, or make him feel like Timmy didn't want to be around him. Quite the opposite actually, as Timmy felt very comfortable with the younger professor. He's always enjoyed his company and has never once felt uneasy around him, even if he and the younger man had slightly different personality traits. Sometimes opposites attracted, or at least that was something Timmy has heard before. And that wasn't to say Timmy was entertaining ideas he shouldn't be having; he totally was knew that would be inappropriate. Not to mention the fact that Timmy was still battling with his own sexuality so going down that path would only confuse him more, he was sure.
"Oh, I can keep up, but I've already had a long day so that will factor into how I feel later," Timmy said, feeling a bit offended that Alek had just inadvertently called him a lightweight. "Besides, I'm not looking to get hammered tonight. I've got some things I want to do tomorrow and I don't want to spend my day in bed nursing a hangover," he added. Timmy could hang with the best of the best, so to have someone younger than him make such a comment ruffled him the wrong way, though he wasn't about to start a fight because of it. They were having a good time so he saw no need to ruin it by saying something that could easily turn their pleasant conversation into an argument or a pissing contest. Timmy didn't need to prove anything to Alek and he wouldn't fall to Alek's challenging tone either.
The conversation changed and the two began talking about their families and the relationships they had with them. It was clear to Timmy that the two men had vastly different relationships with their families, and Timmy was very glad for the one he had. "Yeah, it was hard on all of us, but we did what we could to help them," he said after Alek told him that he and his family were very noble for helping out Link and his mother the way they did. Alek then said he thought he knew Lincoln and Timmy nodded. "Yeah, that's him," he said, finding his face growing a bit warn from the compliment Alek had just given him. "Well, I did my best to teach him," he said, trying to diffuse the nerves that were starting to build up within him. "He's my best friend. We tell each other everything," he added.
Timmy told Alek that he would take him up on the offer for one more drink even though he knew he should go to his own quarters for the evening. Timmy walked with Alek out of the staff lounge and through the corridors of the castle until they got outside. It wasn't a far walk to the hut and Timmy stuck his hands into his pockets as he walked through the night. "It is quite peaceful actually," he mused after Alek asked if he ever noticed how empty the place was when the students weren't around. "Though it's also a bit dull too," he said. He knew that there was always something going on when the kids were in the castle. That was the whole point of being there at all, wasn't it? They arrived at the hut and Timmy walked in behind Alek. Timmy then sat down beside the younger wizard when he was prompted to and reached for his glass and took a sip.

Alek was just being manipulative with his words, he didn't mean to make Timothy feel like he couldn't keep up. The thought of losing the good time he had going, made him shut up. Alek could go on for hours peeving Timothy about who could drink more, but really it wasn't necessary. Alek didn't want to upset his friend, it wasn't on his agenda. The night would be a cold lonely one if he choose to take that route, and he figured it was best to just let it die. Alek's pride didn't let him apologize but he let the other professor get the last word, so he figured that was his surrender. Alek was happy he felt comfortable talking about his past, maybe he had needed to vent occasionally to someone he felt he could trust. It was nice to get to know Timothy on a different level as well, Alek felt like it was important to get to know people outside of their profession. One could learn a lot.
Alek let the topic change to Timothy, and how he grew up teaching Lincoln. Alek was glad the two had made it so far, it was a share accomplishment for the both of them. Experiences in life molded individuals, and this was a story for the better. Alek found compassion on how the two males seemed to be best friends, he remembered that feeling. Alek was that way with his own little brother, before he passed. In comparison to Timothy's life it really dawned on Alek how much of a loner he was. All he ever wanted was loyalty, and friendship but he guessed his cold person pushed even that away. Alek didn't seem all that bad when he was inebriated. When he was sober it was a different tale, he could be rude and standoffish. Alek always reminded himself he was simply misunderstood, it was his way of soothing the fact he choose to be so alone in life. Alek let Timothy speak of trying his best to teach the young Lincoln, Alek just nodded. Timmy seemed to know he did a good job, he didn't need Alek's approval.
Alek was ready to leave the castle, he was glad Timmy was going with him. When walking on the grounds he took in the student emptiness and the color of the sky. It was certainly peaceful. "Indeed, I'm just waiting for the silence to be shattered by some annoying student telling me an excuse on why they didn't do their essay." Alek said with a smirk, he knew Timmy would catch on. It always seemed like when their was silence on the grounds for him, there was a student not far behind trying to come up with some way to avoid detention. Alek was sure it was like that in the halls of the castle as well. It was a bit dull without the different crest colors, show in abundance. With no students, one could feel rather lonely. Yet Alek was used to that, so he didn't comment of the dull aspect. Was he used to Dull? Alek entered the hut, his the place he liked to think of as home and shut the door behind them. Alek then poured them each a glass. The squawking of a dragon caught his attention and he walked over to the cage letting the baby creature out. Alek had gathered food for the creature and placed it down, watching her take to it like wild fire.
The professor smiled proudly and walked over to the couch taking a seat once again. Now, since his parental duties were done, he could enjoy a drink. Alek brought the scotch to his lips and took a drink, leaning back getting comfortable. The hut seemed rather homey, Alek wasn't the best decorator, but he tried to make his home suitable. He liked it anyways, most of the other professors didn't come to the hut. Only the care taker, and head master on occasion. Alek was rather reserved and never saw it fit to invite anyone to his home, but he felt comfortable with Timothy so he did. "Timothy tell me some of your desires in life, surely you'd have something that you enjoy doing. Pleasures you work for. Traveling, Art, Music?" Alek knew everyone had to have a some kind a hobby. This was just another way to see if he had anything in common with his fellow opposite professor whom seemed quite opposite. Alek took a good drain of his drink and held his glass loosely. He was starting to wish Timothy had been on the same level as him. The thoughts going through his mind, about how pretty those hazel eyes were, seemed a little inappropriate but he couldn't help his wondering mind.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Timmy loved being outside. As a child, he played outside with his cousin Lincoln constantly, which also helped fuel the younger Walker's love for being outside. It was never stifled by their parents before they went to school and it only grew as they each spent seven years at Hogwarts. They both also developed a love for Quidditch, though Lincoln's was more of the playing sort while Timmy's was more as a spectator. It wasn't that he was unable to play, or hadn't made the team; Timmy never tried out because he didn’t want to. He enjoyed watching it, but he was never really into flying itself. He will occasionally, but it is not his preferred method of magical transportation. Link was the player and Timmy cheered him on. Timmy was okay with that though.
As the two made their way to the hut from the castle, they idly chatted about work and the students. From the way Alek spoke of the students, he didn't care for them as much, though Timmy was sure he would be if the student was as talented and passionate about his class as he was. Timmy, on the other hand, enjoyed his classes and his students. Sure, there were some students who just put in zero effort and it annoyed him because he knew they had more potential than that, he hated seeing wasted talent. As far as he was concerned, these kids should be lucky to have magic, especially when there were some who didn’t have it at all. Timmy tried to make his class as fun as he could, which he was sure Alek did as well.
In the hut, Timmy was sitting in the offered seat and sipping the glass of whiskey poured for him. Timothy arched an eyebrow when Alek asked him to tell him about hobbies. The way the younger wizard explained it, he was referring to non-work related things, and what he liked to do for fun when he wasn't teaching a class. "Well, one thing that I like to do in my spare time is draw, though I don't generally show my work to anyone that isn’t my family," he said, adding in that little extra bit at the end so Alek didn't think to ask him to draw him something. He'd hate to have to refuse his friend and colleague. "And then there's relaxing with some good tunes," he said with a nod of his head. "What about you?" he asked before he took another sip of his drink.
