- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It had been a whole two weeks since the night, of the ball. Right away Chloe felt something was wrong, so she sent a letter to Link, as she always did when she needed a dose of reality. The conversation had her missing him dearly, and it had been a very long time since she got to see him. The year he left Hogwarts, he went and started to play Quidditch professionally, yet the two always kept in touch by owls. Chloe missed being able to hug him, when she had doubts, missed everything about him. Link was like her big brother for a while. Even if she had a tiny crush on him. There was something about the way he had no trouble understanding her, the way he accepted her for who she was. Loved her even, like a family vibe. Chloe had had a hard life back at home, she hated her father, and hated being materialistic. Her mother was a model whom never had time for her, and her father just down talked everything that made her happy. The man was also an alcoholic, and she didn't approve his scolding methods. The past was just that, and that's where it would remain.
There were many layers that made up the girl, whom everyone enjoyed having something to do with. Though she didn't think it was all chalked up to what people said. Chloe was herself, that's all she could ever be. Tainted, damaged but never broken. The girl was starting to question that whole 'never broken' judgment since the night of the ball. Of course she enjoyed her time with Jack but something felt weird. Just empty and she didn't like that feeling from him. If it were someone else, she could care less, but when it was with Jack it hurt somewhere. Hence her reason for writing Link. Originally she needed advice, in return she got advice and a date. This was going to be a great day, she could feel it. Her green eyes glanced out the window at the blue sky. Being in one of the towers was always a plus, she could tell the weather right away. The snow was finally melting, and she could actually look pretty for Link, it would be a special, ice breaking date.
Why did she keep referring to it as a date? Link would not approve of that title for such an occasion, or would he? She'd have to test the waters and find out. Chloe would have fun doing this, however she needed to get out of her warm blankets. She pushed herself from her bed and the cold causing her to have goosebumps. Quickly she made her way to the bathroom showering up. The previous night, she stayed sober she didn't want to ruin her day with Link. Hangovers and sleeping in were not options. Chloe made her way back to the dormitory looking through her clothes for an outfit. She wanted something that said she was not a little girl anymore, yet didn't want to be over dressed. It was just lunch, some drinks and a good time of catching up from what she understood. Her excitement lever was high, for how confused and low she was feeling. It could only mean good things.
Chloe got her outfit together and looked herself over in her mirror. Her make up was perfect as she smoothed a coat of red lipstick on plump lips. When ever she wore heels her legs looked a mile long. One of her greater accents. When she was positive she was ready she made her leave from the tower. Chloe descended down the stairs her heart racing. Would he even recognize her? She was almost all grown up and well developed if she did say so herself. Exiting the castle she walked toward the gate. The weather wasn't too bad, she figured she'd be inside if it got chilly. Or she could always make Link keep her warm. Chloe's heels clicked on the cobble stones. Then she felt it, whenever Link was close, there was a feeling that drew her to him. It was that charm of his and she soon came into eye sight with him. She walks casually, not being cold to hold back her pearly smile. Chloe walked a little faster til she was feet away from him and she went in for that hug she longed for. She wrapped her arms around him and squeezed for a moment, taking in the feeling. "Linkster I have not seen you in ages!" She stated backing up looking him over. Chloe bit her bottom lip playfully. "You look more gorgeous then before, wasn't sure that was possible." She explained pushing a stray lock hair behind her ear. She looked him over for another moment taking in the fact that this was real. Her heart raced a bit, but she just thrilled to see him finally after so long.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Two weeks ago, when Link had sent a letter to Chloe telling her that he would take her out for dinner and possibly a couple of drinks, he had meant when she was out of school permanently. He hadn’t meant that he’d meet her during a Hogsmeade weekend when they had to worry about the restrictions that Hogwarts would place upon them because she was still a student. He hadn’t intended for anything to happen between them – she was like his little sister after all – but he thought it would just be better for them to be able to go wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and not have to worry about her being back by a certain time, or the fact that she had to stay within the confines of Hogsmeade. Though, even he had to admit, Hogsmeade was better than not being allowed out of the castle at all. And considering what was going on in the wizarding world right now, that was still a privilege the kids were allowed.
When he had gotten a letter from Chloe not too long ago saying that she would meet him that Saturday afternoon at the gate that separated Hogsmeade from Hogwarts, he was a bit surprised, but pleased all at the same time. She had used the term date in her letter, which he knew she was going off what he’d originally called it, but he hadn’t meant for it to be a date date. He had meant it more in the fact that they had plans to do something; he didn’t know if she meant it in the same respect as he had, but he felt strange when he read the word in her last owl to him before the current day that he found himself standing in front of his mirror in his small two bedroom flat. He was to be apparating to Hogsmeade soon enough, but he wanted to make sure he was ready first. Why was he even caring about his appearance? it seemed trivial for such a casual thing, but there he was studying himself in the mirror.
Once he was satisfied with himself, he pulled out his wand and apparated to Hogsmeade from his flat and then began to make his way over to where the gates that led to Hogwarts were. He didn’t see her at first and he stopped just near one of the stone pillars and leaned against it as he waited for her to arrive. It was nice out, for the end of February, and he was glad he had a warmer jacket on while he waited. Soon enough, he heard the faint sound of clicking heels and he only assumed that was her making her way towards him. He finally caught sight of her and grinned as she made her way towards him, but his grin began to falter when he noticed how she was dressed. She looks really good, he thought to himself as she neared him. He could see her long and naturally tanned legs moving back and forth as she moved closer to him and he couldn’t help but take notice of how grownup she looked now.
When she reached him, she hugged him tightly. “Hey stranger, long time no see,” he said just before she greeted him. “I know, it definitely has been,” he agreed when she told him it’s been ages since they’ve last seen each other. She then commented on how good looking he was, and even going as far as to say that she hadn’t thought it possible for him to look even better than she remembered him. “Well, it’s been almost four years,” he reminded her as he released her and smiled widely at her. “And you, You look like a whole new woman from what I remember of you,” he appraised as he looked her up and down. “You look amazing,” he admitted, though he found himself uncharacteristically growing nervous about this encounter now. “All right, mac-n-cheese, let’s get some food. I’m starving,” he told her as he hooked his arm with hers and started to drag her into Hogsmeade. “How’ve you been since your last letter? Better or worse?” he asked as they slowly made their way down the cobblestone streets. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -he is wearing this - sorry for this crap post. next will be better

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There was a small part of her that was still in disbelief that, she was seeing Lincoln after so long. It was nice, she could get used to this feeling. Her mind wasn't jumbled with her normal stresses of life, she was just happy. It had been a couple months since she was last happy. Actually spending New Years, with someone whom thought she was special made her happy. Even if she didn't believe she did. Where all this new low self esteem was coming from? Chloe hadn't a clue. It was rare of her to be self conscious, and even more odd, how she was getting depressed. Perhaps she was over thinking, and maybe she shouldn't give too much thought on the subject of men, because as of now, most were just making her unhappy. Chloe took in a moment to accept the fact she was really right in front of Link. His perfect smile always made her feel warm inside. His words caused her to smile and she nodded. It had been way too long, she had just accepted the fact he was older and he needed to leave to accomplish his dreams back then. Now that he was here, she doubted she'd want him to leave. Perhaps she shouldn't think negatively. If he came back once, he could come back again.
"No shit, four long, cold years!" She said dragging out her words dramatically. At first she thought she was going to be shy, yet she seemed to slip back into her personality after the shock. At his comment she looked down at her body then looked up at him. "I told you that I was seventeen. I think I filled out nice." She mused rocking back and forth on the balls of her heels. It must have been odd for him, remembering a flat chested girl, with no curves and seeing what she bloomed into. Chloe knew she was appealing, that was not confidence she lacked. When he complimented her she looked down and smirked, trying to straw away from blushing. "Thanks Link, you look amazing yourself. I remember you being a lot skinnier, and nerdy looking." She teased sticking out her tongue at him. All men had their awkward stages in life, as did females.
As Link admitted he was starving she nodded. "I saved my appetite just for the occasion." She added, as she started to walk toward Hogsmeade. Chloe reached down and took Link's hand. She knew he knew how to get there, yet she couldn't help it. She remembered being smaller, holding his hand once upon a time. When he asked about how she was doing since her last letter he reached up and twirled a lock of her hair. "Well, I guess I have been a little depressed. I haven't been having as much fun as I normally would." She stated with a shrug, maybe drinking with the boys would have made things worst, and they was her logic behind 'not having fun.' Chloe laced her fingers with his before thinking more on the subject. "I think I started to have feelings after that night, but now I'm pretty numb. You know I don't like to show emotions." Chloe explained, the wind blowing through her hair. She could feel her stomach in pain from the empty feeling. She was forgetting her priorities, like eating and sleeping but eventually she'd be alright. "I don't want to think too much on it Link, I know it helps some people, but it makes me all weird. I just don't like it." She explained wanting to drop the subject, of her ex mixed into her emotions and her life.
When Hogsmeade came into eye view she smiled. "So where are we eating Link? We should be classic and head to the Three Broomsticks. It must have been a while since you had something there." Chloe suggested. Upon entering the small town she looked at all the other students, whom were doing their normal shopping. She had loved Hogsmeade village since, the first time she was allowed to take part in the weekend event, and that never would change. If she didn't get to work under the ministry she would want a small job around here. Chloe just didn't want to go home. She hated that life. Something inside her, knew with her decent grades and Lincoln's referral she'd become part of the ministry. Where she would go from there was beyond her. Chloe walked to the door of the tavern and allowed Link to do his normal gentleman act of opening the door, before she entered. She looked over at a booth, and decided that's where they would sit. Chloe lead Link to the booth and took a seat, removing her peacoat, exposing a little cleavage. She crossed her legs and looked to the drink menu. "So you feeling daring today? We drinking?" She asked, she knew the waitress would be there soon to take their meal orders, but she could use a nice glass of fire whiskey and soda.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He couldn’t help but laugh at her when she dramatically said that it had been four long and cold years. “Oh, I highly doubt it’s been that cold,” he said with a smirk. It had definitely been a long four years, and the physical change they have both gone through since they last saw each other was a perfect attest to that, but that was the extent to which he knew those years to be. Cold was hardly a word he’d use to describe it, especially considering the nature of the owls the two had been exchanging some weeks back. Nevertheless, he didn’t see a need to drag that thought process out more than it already had. They’ve remedied their long separation and he was glad to be with her now.
“You did indeed. No wonder you’re having boy troubles now,” he teased after she told him she thought she filled out nicely. It probably wasn’t the best of things to say to her, especially now, but seeing as how that was initially how their encounter now came about, he didn’t see a reason to not mention it. Besides, he was confident that she wouldn’t be angry with him for it, since he was like her big brother and all. He was allowed to ask such questions, even if it made both him and her uncomfortable. It was all part of the gig, or so he told himself, and he would make sure it didn’t get too weird, or discomforting, for either of them. He’d easily change the subject if he had to, to save one or both of them the misery and embarrassment of such a conversation.
Hey! I never looked skinny and nerdy,”
he said to her after she told him as such. “I was tall and lanky, sure, and I might have worn glasses then occasionally, but I was far from skinny and nerdy,” he joked with her. She was right though, he had been skinny and nerdy looking back in the day. Quidditch had helped fill him out and he’d gotten himself contacts since they were more helpful and less annoying than his dark-rimmed glasses he once wore. He still had them, and wore them on occasion, but only when he either ran out of contacts or if they bothered his eyes, which they did on occasion. Plus, when he had played Quidditch, it had been more beneficial for him not to have glasses because they could easily get in his way or, worse even, break from a collision. “Oh, really? Well, then I guess I won’t get to eat your leftovers,” he joked as the pair walked down the cobblestone street of Hogsmeade. He was glad to be with her, and hanging out with her like the old days had been. Granted, there were some things that were different now, like the fact that she wasn’t so little anymore, but everything else was still the same. Right? He had asked her how things were going, making a direct reference to the owls they had exchanged some weeks back, and she seemed to somber a bit at the mention of them. She admitted that she’s been depressed lately, and that she hasn’t been having as much fun as she usually did. “But you live for having fun, mac,” he said to her with raised eyebrows. He could appreciate the lack of desire to have fun when things bothered someone though. He had been a right ball of anger after he’d been cut from his Quidditch team because of his injury, and even the fact that he hadn’t been accepted onto any other team because he wouldn’t be much help to any team. A half-blind Seeker was far from an advantage to any team and no one wanted to spend the money for a lost cause, or so he was considered. “Oh? I wouldn’t have guessed,” he said with a half serious and half joking tone when she told him that she had caught feelings for that guy she mentioned in her letters, but that she was numb to it all now. He knew she wasn’t a fan of showing emotions to people, even though he’s always been able to tell them without her having to say so. He could tell that she wanted to drop the subject when she told him that she didn’t want to dwell on it because it made her feel weird. “Well, no one likes feeling weird,” he reminded her, though he obliged her and dropped the subject, for now. He knew that he would get it out of her eventually, but that would probably be once she was fully over those feelings and the guy that had given them to her. He had to envy her slightly though. He has never had such feelings for a woman, though he knows several women have thought they had them for him. He hoped to someday, though he wasn’t holding his breath for that considering his curse. It was hard for him to get into such a mindset, especially when he knew his ‘charms’ affected any woman that came near him, except other veelas. “That could be a good idea,” he agreed when she asked if they were going to go old school style and head to the Three Broomsticks. “Well, I don’t get out this way often enough, but it’s definitely been a couple of years since I’ve been here last. I think the last time I was there was when I had lunch with my cousin Timmy,” he said, speaking of his older cousin who happened to be a professor at Hogwarts. He hadn’t realized that the two had been holding hands in such a way until he released her hand and opened the door that led into The Three Broomsticks. It was amazing how natural it felt to do so, yet he had no desire to make mention of it. His stomach growled as he followed her to one of the booths and sat down across from her. He couldn’t help but notice how much more grownup she looked once she removed her petticoat, but he shook himself from such thoughts and realizations as she spoke to him. “Well, I think we should start with something light first. I don’t want to get into trouble just yet, and I am sure the Headmaster wouldn’t be thrilled if you returned to the castle drunk off your cute little ass,” he joked, though he found his throat getting unsurprisingly tight after he said she had a cute ass. He hadn’t meant it like that, right? “Oh, I almost forgot to tell you,” he said as he opened his menu and started looking at it, “I managed to talk to that guy I know at the ministry and he said he would happily meet with you on the next Hogsmeade weekend to interview for the position,” he said as he looked up from his menu with a smile.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -he is wearing this[/blockquote]
