FEELING SO FAITHLESS lost under the surface His final class of the day seemed to pass by quick, the evening was to be filled with relaxation and meditation. Scorpius separated himself from his normal group of followers and went right to the dungeon. Scorpius wanted to drop off his books before he went to dinner. The common room felt almost like home, as he made his way to the boys dormitory. Scorpius The sounds of voices and laughter filled areas of the common room, so it was only natural to make and appearance then scatter. After showing his were abouts and exiting he walked the hallways of the dungeon. Scorpius was always concerned on how dark and gloomy they were, yet he wouldn't voice his opinion. He liked being a Slytherin, even if the darkness was a quirk. Once on the main floor he stopped a couple younger class men and said a few cruel comments. It was best to keep them on their toes, correct? Or at least that was what he liked to believe. There was nothing worst then torment, and it wasn't only others that endured it. When he first arrived at Hogwarts he dealt with being stereotyped due to his family history. How the judgment carried on through the years he never knew, but he never really questioned it. It was more along the lines of one of those things one needed to accept.
It was just about dinner time and he had to make his way into the Great hall and took a seat. It was hard to believe this was going to be his second to last year at Hogwarts. Scorpius had made a handful of friends, and had some great memories. He wasn't sure where he'd head after this, but being a professional quidditch player seemed to be the right way to go. After all he didn't make his position being a bad player, and the fame seemed promising. Scorpius had sat down with a few of his friends and began to socialize, and eat. Each story he listened to made him dislike his house placement more and more. What was the point of wanting a negative reputation. Sure, people would think you were tough, but he couldn't help to know there was more to life then a reputation like that. Scorpius was granted a reputation for the colors he wore and his surname, he had come to accept the fact people didn't like him, yet it didn't bother him too much. Scorpius had a confident way of thinking, and nothing could really tarnish his arrogant ego. Scorpius ate fast, he needed to get out of this room. Crowded areas were not his strong suit, they actually made him pretty anxious, with the exception of quidditch.
Scorpius debated on what he wanted to do for the rest of his evening. He could always wonder the halls and cause chaos for the prefects, but that would be much later. He settled upon making his way back to the common room, in search of company. Scorpius didn't really like loads of company, he just liked having a few people around to remind him his social life was existent. Scorpius spent most of his time on the patch, or in his dorm studying. With the exceptions of his more adventurous nights. He did feel a bit bold, but he much rather have someone to speak to and level with before he did damage. When he arrived at the entrance he spoke the password, ignoring anything the photo said. Scorpius had gotten used to ignoring a lot of things. Upon entering he didn't see anyone, and he sighed ruffling his dirty blonde hair. Then out the corner of his eye he saw jasmine Pucey. A smirk crossed his lips as he walked over to where she had been, and took a seat across from her. "Dwelling in your loneliness, or do you fancy some company?" Scorp asked quirking an eyebrow, with a hesitant smile. He wouldn't stay if she didn't want him to. Scorp liked his privacy, so he respected other's. The school year seemed to be coming to a close, so he was sure there were many things he could catch up on with Jasmine. It was sad to know he wouldn't see his friend next year in the common room. "How have you been?" He asked concerned, hoping she'd get the hint he wasn't leaving anytime soon unless asked nicely. He's much rather stay and chat any how, anything seemed more interesting then being alone. While the Common Room slowly began to empty, Jasmine waited for everyone to leave before she forced her way through the portrait hole and into the Common Room beyond. Not as hungry as she would have liked, Jasmine decided to leave the chatter of the Great Hall and seek less crowded venues; thus she ended back up in the Common Room. It took a while for everyone to leave, but when they did she allowed herself to fully relax into the plush leather arm chair closest to the fire. It wasn't that she didn't want company; she just wanted to right kind of company. Jasmine was tired of the giggling, posturing, annoying distractions that usually filled the Common Room, so the silence was welcome, but an interruption would be acceptable as long as it was by the right person.
As time passed, Jasmine wondered if her desire for a distraction was ever going to happen. She became antsy and annoyed because she was actually getting what she wanted. Spoiled brat right? Maybe, maybe not. Finally, just when she was about to get up and find a new venue, Jasmine saw the entrance open and someone come through. As Scorpius appeared, her heart did a funny little hiccup which surprised her, but wasn't unwelcome. Though she wasn't going to admit it to him or anyone, she was glad to see him.
As he spoke, her heart did another little hiccup, but all she could think about was how he was her brothers friend and captain and how he was off limits for that reason. His voice sent chills down her spine that she hid well with her proper posture. She had been slouching, but the sound of the portrait opening sent her into her normal posture when around social.
"Please," she gestured to the seat across from her. "Your brand of company is always appreciated." Jasmine smiled sweetly, the normal smile she wore when Scorpius talked to her, but it wasn't only for him (just so he wouldn't get suspicious).
Glad to finally have someone worth talking to, Jasmine leaned forward slightly inviting him in. It was always pleasant to have Scorpius to talk to. They had a few things in common and were able to converse easily it seemed. "I've been in dire need of stimulating conversations that don't include girls checking themselves in the mirror every five seconds or boys making some ignorant joke about something or another." She sighed, but continued to smile.
Why was it so hard to keep her composure when he was around? Around anyone else Jasmine was able to stay proper all the time, but now, with him so close and them alone in the Common Room, it was almost imposable to keep her composure. Hold it together, she urged, you can do this. Cautiously, she took a deep breath and smiled sweetly again.
"What about you, Scorpius? How are things in your world?" She wasn't being rude; it's just the way she talked and the reason why some found her intimidating.

FEELING SO FAITHLESS lost under the surface Scorpius was glad that he stumbled upon someone who wasn't either a prat, or pure bloodist. There was nothing worst in his opinion then someone who went on and on about the muggleborns, and half bloods in slytherin. As far as Scorpius was concerned, he was forced to act that way and may have appeared two faced at times, but it was only because everyone expect it from him. If word was to get to his father about him being nice to non pure families he'd never hear the end of it. The boy struggled to please his parents, but in the end it always felt wrong, so he rebelled. Scorpius liked Jasmine, she was one of the few people he actually got along with in his house. The two were not the closest friends, but he knew her through her older brother, and his good friend Jack. The Pucey twins were both good in his book. Scorpius took a seat, and he returned the smile she gave him. Jasmine told him his company was always appreciated. "As is yours."Scorpius told her getting comfortable.
It had been a couple weeks since he last had spent some time with a female. Naturally he strayed away from anything that involved drama, and it seemed that was what a lot of girls at Hogwarts did. The guys were no better, so he remained selective about who he kept in his cabinet. Jasmine said she had been in need of conversation, and her description of a majority of males and females caused him to snicker. "Can never get enough of that. I swear, sometimes I'd rather make friends with a house elf, it would certainly be more appealing then conversation with some of these blokes. May even get a joke that isn't crude, or a midnight snack." Scorpius said, concluding his thoughts on the matter. Scorpius knew he wasn't allowed to be nice to the house elves, but he secretly set one free, just because he didn't like the family who owned it. He was very popular indeed, he could speak to just about anyone he wanted, but some were just not worth his time. Scorpius only cared to please those who were deserving of his presence. Scorpius wondered what the night would bring, he did need a distraction from studies and quidditch. One could only force themselves to focus for so long, before wanting a tease of reality, and amusement.
The world of Scorpius Malfoy, it was a complex world indeed. "Things are alright, I can't complain. Basically the usual things, quidditch, disturbing the prefects on my nightly endeavors, trying to keep my sanity intact." He stated with a shrug. Things he did were some what simple. He was the leader of the quidditch team, he plated some wizard chest, he made sure other's knew their place, and he enjoyed his life. The boy had a drink, now and again, but he hadn't been able to get his hands on a bottle of fire whiskey recently. He could use a drink, but disappointingly he didn't own one at this current time. "Tell me you have something fun planned for us to do this evening. You surely couldn't have spent all this time here, and given no thought to the matter." Scorpius watched her leave dinner, he figured since she had been here, since he arrived. She went to the common room directly after dinner. Boredom wasn't something he fancied, and he knew Jasmine would have something on her mind.

Jasmine couldn’t help but giggle at the mention of accepting a house elf as a friend in comparison to some of those who the two were forced to share dorms with. “I must admit, I’ve had a few nights where House Elves have been my friends in a sense.” After that statement she felt a little self-conscious. “Or at least they felt comfortable enough to bring me said midnight snack.” Inwardly she cursed herself for sounding so… what, weak? No that wasn’t the word, ridiculous? Maybe that was closer to the truth. Talking about a house elf as a friend? What a ridiculous sentiment. From what she’d heard about the past, a few people had in fact befriended a few of the creatures which in and of itself was actually really strange to Jasmine.
When he started talking about how things were with him, Jasmine listened intently. It wasn’t often she was able to talk to Scorpius on such a personal level about his life. Normally their conversations consisted of congratulations about the recent Quidditch win or a friendly pep talk for the recent loss, even if those were rare these days. Naturally for those conversations her brother was there which gave the situation an air of propriety that irked her somewhat. It was hard to be proper all the time, sometimes she wanted to just let loose, be her own free person and not act like she had herself together all the time. To be honest she was starting to get a little stressed from keeping up her appearance all the time.
Taken aback, Jasmine just stared at Scorpius at first. Of course she’d thought about going somewhere else, but that was until Scorpius showed up. Now that she wasn’t alone, her plans sort of changed. Had he not come through the portrait hole surprising her so, Jasmine probably would have gotten up and wandered through the castle or made her way to the court yard. For some strange reason the court yard had become her favorite place as of late. There was something appealing of the stones that made it. She was close to the castle while thee, but still outside. Now that Scorpius was with her, she had no idea what to do.
“Oh, well,” she smiled sheepishly and bit her lip, “had you not shown up I would have probably just gone walking somewhere.” Then she thought about the bottle of wine her parents sent her though no one knew it was hidden in her school trunk. “Or found a quiet place to,” she paused trying to find the right word, “allow natural chemicals to melt my brain to mush.” She giggled, but felt silly so she stopped. “Actually, the Quidditch pitch is really something this time of night, but of course you know that. I’ve spent a few evenings there just to unwind. Because of Jack and my dad I fell a connection there.” She left Scorpius out of that short list.
Jasmine thought she sounded a little pathetic and wanted to correct it, but how? Obviously Scorpius was looking to her for something to do, but she was just glad to be in his company and would be willing to do anything. Maybe Scorpius was the same way? She hoped he wouldn’t be disappointed by her lack of creativity. “What about you?” She asked leaning forward, smiling as sweetly as she could. “Where would you go had you not found me?” She couldn’t help but smile to herself at the last question. He hadn’t been looking for her, but it was a fun thing to imagine.

FEELING SO FAITHLESS lost under the surface Scorpius was actually had he ran into someone who wasn't cold, or wasn't one to complain constantly. As Jack's sister, Scorpius respected Jasmine. Her couldn't deny she was easy on the eyes, but as a sister of his mate he'd leave it at that. Scorpius wasn't really one to break his normal structure for a female, no matter how pretty her eyes were. The boy found himself staring off blankly for a moment, the last times he had actually contemplated having further actions with a female he found himself a mess of emotions. Scorpius didn't allow that to ruin his friendship with Odette, but she was trying to figure out exactly how he felt. Scorpius wasn't good with emotions, he knew how to be cold, and he knew how to protect his heart. It was rare he'd even let a girl into the picture. Jasmine was different, she was out of his grasp. Since he was close with Jack, he wouldn't dare over step his boundaries, though he was sure every female loved something about him. The one in front of him, puzzled him though. She seemed to act a bit different around him, apposed to the way she acted when around others.
Scorpius leaned back in his seat, and told Jasmine the house elves were more friendly then half of the students in their house. To his surprise she agreed with him, causing him to nod and smile a bit. Scorpius had set a couple of his own house elves free because his father treated them poorly. The creatures were noble, not to be pushed around, and forced to do things. The ones at Hogwarts always seemed so winning to help, and hand out snacks. It wasn't all the time he got to see Jasmine alone, normally Jack wasn't too far and them being twins, Scorp knew they were attached to one another. It felt nice to just see her be herself, and not a painted image of what was expected from her. Scorpius listened to her plans for the night, if he hadn't joined her and he nodded. The quidditch patch really was nice at night. Scorpius went there to clear his mind, when he was stressed or just to escape his expectations. It was nice to just breath away the tension of being himself. When he was alone he was exactly who he wanted to be, and it felt nice. No one to impress, no one to act for, it was nice. The calm night, and the fresh air reminded him there was more to life, then just upholding expectations.
"That sounds pretty fun actually. I don't know what I'd be doing, sometimes I just run into someone at random and they capture my interests. I don't really plan things, they just happen." Scorpius admitted shrugging it off. When she mentioned a chemical to melt away her brain he smirked and leaned forward. Jasmine Pucey had a little bit of a rebellious kick to her. "Is that so? Well I think you have just set the plans in motion if you don't mind me intruding. I'd sneak out any time, anything is better then being locked in the dungeon. Just the sound of it is morbid." Scorpius said thinking about his play on words. "Perhaps, we could slide into something more comfortable, and sneak out for an adventure to the patch. The sky's suppose to be clear tonight. Could be entertaining." Scorpius said, if he hadn't been graced with Jasmine's company he may have very well just went in his dorm and listened to music, or studied a bit. This girl had something better in mind. If the two caught a buzz or something perhaps their night could get more spontaneous. Scorpius wasn't sure if she was ready, but he had gotten to his feet and walked to the boy's dormitory and changed into sweat pants and a t shirt. It was more comfortable this way. When he was finished he walked to the common room and took a seat, waiting for Jasmine to join him again.

Oh Merlin that smirk, Jasmine swooned inwardly, but kept her composure outwardly. How had she lucked out to have Scorpius as her companion tonight? When she normally found Scorpius Jackson would have been with her, so this conversation never would have happened. The two of them would have made plans for the night, granted Jackson would have invited her, but of course she would have said no. She loved Jackson more than anything, but spending time with your brother while also spending time with someone who gave you butterflies… yeah not the sort of awkward situation Jasmine looked forward to. She was sure that no one, not Jackson or Scorpius knew about her inner turmoil while around the second. As it was, she was having problems keeping her cool already, but she was determined to stay as composed as possible.
Jasmine giggled at Scorpius’s play on words and held her smile, but again felt her face flush as he suggested slipping into something more comfortable. Actually she was quite comfortable in what she had on, but she had a feeling the night might end late and pajamas were probably be more appropriate to fall asleep in, there was less chance of rumors floating around that if she fell asleep in her cloths. “Of course I don’t mind.” She smiled kindly. “I’m glad I ran into. This could be fun.” Slowly she stood and headed towards the dorm with Scorpius close behind. As she reached the Girls door, she looked over her shoulder, “I’ll just be a minute,” with a smile she slipped in and closed the door… where her composure fell.
What am I going to wear? Jasmine felt panic rise inside her. How was she going to pull this off? She was about to sneak out of the castle, something she’d only done maybe one other time, to spend time with Scorpius alone, something she’d never done before and they were going to crack open the bottle she now felt was radiating heat hidden in her trunk. What was she thinking? Her hands found their way to her hair and grabbed handfuls of the thick stuff as she stood at the foot of her bed just staring at the trunk that held everything she would need for the night. It felt like minutes passed as she stood there on the verge of hyperventilation, when only seconds had. She had to calm down, it wasn’t as bad as she was making it out to be. Finally, she dropped her hands and heaved a heavy sigh. As the air escaped her lungs, the panic she had been feeling just seemed to vanish. She could do this. “Don’t be a coward.”
Finally, she dug into the trunk and pulled out a pair of black and pink plaid pajama pants and slipped them on along with a solid black tank top with a thin black shirt that hung off one shoulder. Next she grabbed the thick green blanket her parents gave her after she first got sorted into Slytherin and a bag. Inside she felt the weight of the unopened bottle of wine and smiled. Before leaving the dorm she stuffed the blanket into the bag and made her way back towards the Common Room. On the way down she made the decision to pull her hair back into a ponytail, something she didn’t do in public. The hair restraint was meant only for sleeping, but it would be easier to handle while on the grounds.
When she got back to the Common Room, Scorpius was already there waiting. She felt bad, had she really taken that long to change? Feeling guilty she stood next to the chair he sat in, her hands resting on the arm rest, incredibly close to him. She felt strange, warm and happy which felt alien to her. “Sorry it took me so long,” I couldn’t decide what to wear, she omitted. “Are you ready? Her voice was soft, almost seductive. Where did this sudden confidence come from? She smiled down at Scorpius, glad to finally be spending time with him, away from all the pretenses and expectations.
Jasmine should have been more nervous. They were about to sneak out of the castle to drink, but she felt unexpectedly calm. Gingerly, she grabbed Scorpius’s hand and pulled him from his seat towards the Common Room entrance, an innocent smile on her face. “You might have to lead the way,” she admitted quietly, “I haven’t really done this much.” With a soft giggle she turned towards the Entrance, her hand still holding his.

FEELING SO FAITHLESS lost under the surface Scorpius was glad he actually made a point to go to the dungeons. If he hadn't he wasn't sure where his night would have led him, but he was glad to be around Jasmine. It was different that they were spending time alone, and he was sure her brother may have not taken it so well. Protective siblings and all. Scorpius always wondered what it would have been like to have a sibling. He would hate having a sister and always having to keep an eye on her. That was more pressure then he needed, besides he liked being a spoiled, only child. Scorpius didn't like all the attention from his parents on him, but he was sure he wouldn't want to share it either. Scorpius had respect for those with siblings. The night was about to take place and she had told him she was glad she ran into him. He smiled charmingly and nodded. "This will be fun, I think I'll like getting to know Jasmine, and not just Jack's sister." Scorpius said with a wink. Had he really just done that? Scorpius looked down, he meant nothing by it. Just a mare action he reminded himself as he nodded. "Yeah, right. When a girl says a minute it means an hour." he said rhetorically with a roll of his eyes. He soon chucked and went toward his destination to get ready for the night. Scorpius simply got into sweat pants, and a long sleeved t shirt. It never took him too long to get dressed.
Scorpius returned to the common room and took a seat on the couch. He knew she was probably obsessing over that she was going to wear, most females did that when his presence was occurred. Scorpius looked into the fire watching the flames dance. The crackling noise, and the wave of heat raising. Fire was beautiful, but it could burn. Much like girls and he always kept his distance. Scorpius wasn't an emotional drunk, but he was one who liked to speak his mind. The last time he had drink he was in for a surprise, he was nervous to confront. Girls this effect on him, that made him slightly confused. Scorp hadn't ever had a girlfriend nor many attachments in the past. His parents kept him very sheltered and he didn't really know how to treat a girl. Scorpius guessed sometimes life was full of experiences, ones he needed to learn from. With time he'd get a better understanding of his feelings, and where his emotions were on the subject. When he felt eyes on him he looked up to see Jasmine. His eyes scanned over her body, and he bit his bottom lip. She certainly looked nice her her pajamas, but it was best not to think that way. Scorpius snapped himself from his thoughts and got to his feet. "I am ready." The boy wondered if she had ever snuck out after hours before. If she hadn't she was with someone who was brilliant at avoiding prefects. Scorpius wouldn't want the head boy, to find out he was sneaking around corrupting his sister. That kind of reputation wasn't what he needed in life.
When she spoke he nodded, exactly what he expected. She hadn't done this before. "Well then you're lucky to have me then, yeah?" Scorpius told her as he took in a breath and walked to the exit. "Just keep close and follow me." Scorpius told Jasmine as he lead her out of the common room. They were certainly lucky they only had to get past two floors. The dungeon was easiest to escape from his his opinion. He felt bad for those who were up in the towers, they had many floors to descend down before they could reach the grounds. Scorpius weaved through the dungeons and walked up the stairs to the first floor, once there he made sure she was behind him and he peeked his head out making sure the coast was clear. Scorpius took her hand, and walked a bit faster, stopping behind a statue when he felt a presence, he remained stealth for a moment, and when everything had past he made his way to the large door, pushing it open to the outside. Scorpius closed the door then looked around patrolling the area with his eyes. When he saw no threat he smiled. "What a rush." He admitted as he walked calmly toward the quidditch patch. "Feeling like a rebel yet?" Scorpius asked with a grin, he certainly liked the feeling of accomplishing their first task of the evening. When they got to the patch he smirked looking around. "I always like the patch at night, I can imagine all those stands full cheering me on." Scorp said looking to the stands. He had been a keeper since second year, now the captain was getting older and he feared who would take over his team in two years. "Set up camp where ever you'd like." Scorpius said, he saw her bag, maybe she had brought something for them to sit on. Jasmine blushed, He likes getting to know me, and not just Jack’s sister? That was all she could think about as she got dressed, but the thought made her panic more. Oh no! What if Jackson finds out? Oh Merlin! How could I possibly explain this to him? Oh poor Scorpius! Jackson might get mad. The thought of her brother taking anger out on Scoprius almost broke her resolve… almost. With a smirk she shook her head. I’m aloud to talk to Jackson’s friends, aren’t I? With that settled she was ready for the night to begin. She tried to hurry and get ready and thought she’d done a fairly good job of it. When she approached Scoprius and he scanned her form, she blushed as he bit his bottom lip. I wonder what he’s thinking, she thought, but refused to let her mind wander in that direction, not yet anyway.
With a giggle she nodded, ”I guess I am.” Jasmine replied sweetly as she took his advice and stuck close to him. Obviously he’d snuck out before which irked her a little and made her wonder just how often he had and how many other girls he’d snuck out with or to see. Suddenly she didn’t feel so well. As they walked, she did in fact stay as close to Scorpius as she dared, but her mind reeled with the idea of how often he’d done the very thing they were about to do. I bet I’m not the only girl he’s spent a late night with. Feeling miserable, Jasmine kept her head down, but the farther they got away from the Common Room the faster her heart began to race. Unable to keep her eyes on the floor, she looked up in time to see Scorpius reach behind her and take her hand. The contact sent chills up her arm and suddenly she didn’t care if she was the first or fiftieth girl to sneak out with him, all that matter was that she was with him now.
It was a good thing she decided to look up at that moment because had she not she would have run right into the back of him as he hid behind a stature. She hadn’t noticed the sound of feet approaching until they stopped. Her heat skipped a beat as the foot falls came closer. Unable to stop herself she gripped Scorpius’s had tighter as they hid. She felt her breathing quicken as she pressed herself against the wall, but then the foot falls started to get quiet again as the owner walked away. With a sigh she smiled, feeling slightly exilerated. It was then that she realized how tightly she was holding Scorpius’s hand and loosened her grip. With a small smile she allowed herself to be led to the Oak doors and then outside. While Scoprius shut the doors she breathed in deep and smiled brighter at the beautiful night. “Oh Merlin!” She gasped. “My hands are shaking,” she laughed as she raised one hand to show Scorpius. “This is so exciting!” With a light giggle she bit her bottom lip, she was already having fun.
As they entered the Quidditch Pitch, Jasmine had to stop and look around. At night it looked eerie, but even now she could imagine it full of students cheering on Scorpius and her brother. She didn’t see how they could do it. If it were she, there was no doubt in her mind that she would end up getting sick more than once and being unable to perform. For this reason she admired the two for what they did. “You guys are amazing at what you do.” Jasmine oozed with an embarrassed smile. When she said you guys, she meant Scorpius and her brother, but mostly the first (sorry Jackson). “I don’t think I could do it.” She admitted lightly.
Struggling to get the blanket out of her bag, Jasmine blushed. It hadn’t been an issue getting the thing in there, but now that she actually had use for it, it had to be difficult. Finally with one final tug she managed to get the bulky thing out. Hoping Scorpius hadn’t noticed her struggle, she cleared he throat and made her way towards the center of the pitch and spread out the blanket. As it came to rest on the well-kept grass, Jasmine realized just how big it was. Was it always this big? she wondered before taking her bag off her shoulder and setting it on the blanket before she joined it close to the center, hoping Scoprius wouldn’t sit too far away. With a glance at him she patted the empty space next to her and smiled. “Care to join me?” Her voice was playful.
Before she lost her nerve she reached to grab the bottle of wine. As she looked at it she realized that this bottle just happened to be the strong stuff that she got last year that resulted in a bad hangover the next day. Not knowing at the time she had chugged half the bottle after a particularly irritating day and soon found herself unable to function correctly. After that she gave the bottle to Jackson and refused to touch the stuff again until that moment. Knowing what it was made it easier, she knew to pace herself and felt she should warn Scorpius. “This stuff is pretty harsh.” She admitted looking at him it was then that she realized she forgot glasses. “Bugger, I forgot glasses. Do you mind drinking from the bottle?” Jasmine had no problem passing the bottle as long as he didn’t. If need be she would find a way to get them some glasses. She held the bottle towards him hoping he would be the first to take a drink.
Jasmine knew how libations affected her, but she also knew how to pace herself. When she drank she tended to be more open and relax, not let her upbringing stop her from doing or saying what she wanted. She just hoped she wouldn’t say anything embarrassing. Just pace yourself, you can do this. And she knew she could.

FEELING SO FAITHLESS lost under the surface Scorpius had never imagined himself sneaking out of the castle with Jackson's sister. Jasmine, Jasmine she had a name and he would need to remember that. No one wanted to be remembered by an attachment. It may have been a good thing he got this chance to take her away, spend time with, and get to know her. She always seemed like a nice girl, at least to him. Scorpius never judged a Slytherin by their personality around others. Scorpius knew he himself put on an image, for others to idolize. Although he never really was one to follow the crowed he didn't need one of his fellow pure bloods running home, telling their parents he acted a certain way at school. Then the parents would start a chain and it would certainly to get to his parents and he'd be faced with having to answer questions. Surely anyone who knew Scorpius could see his normal attitude if it was one on one, but when it came to those he didn't trust he just acted like a typical Slytherin prat. Scorpius sensed that was the thing with Jasmine, that she acted a certain frosty way around others, because she never showed him personally a side he didn't like. She was actually rather nice, compared to what some may have thought of her.
As the two weaved through the dungeons and past the first floor of prefects he was relieved to get past those oak doors. Scorpius was always nervous when it came to sneaking out, but he wasn't innocent to detention. There were very few who could catch Scorpius, but he wasn't perfect. Scorpius wasn't sure if she enjoyed the rush, because she was shaking but when she confirmed she was excited he smiled genuinely. "That is just the beginning of it, try doing it intoxicated with the goal of getting back inside." Scorpius mused, he was sure getting out was easier then getting in. The prefects usually had more of the doors covered during the night, but Scorpius was slicker then that. This boy knew the castle inside and out, he loved to explore coming across a lot of different doors in his day. As he walked to the quidditch patch he shoved his hands into his pockets and looked around. Scorpius wasn't used to seeing the patch at night, but he did enjoy how quite it was. When Jasmine spoke of he, and his team he grinned. It was soon wiped off his face when she said she didn't think she could do it. "Hey, don't say that. You can do anything you put your heart into. Don't tell yourself you can't, because then others will think that of you." Scorpius said honestly. He was just giving advice because he believed in her. "We can have a one on one practice someday, I'll make a player out of you yet." Scorpius teased with a smile. It was only an offer, she could decline.
Scorpius noticed the bulkiness to her bad and hoped she had brought something to sit on. In honesty it had slipped his mind, and he was glad she had. Watching her struggle he snickered to himself, wasn't that how it always went. It was like wearing tight clothing, easy to get on but hard to get off. Not that he was thinking about taking off clothing, a sudden heat crossed his cheeks and he looked at the stars to distract his mind. Scorpius saw drawn from his distraction by her voice and he nodded. "But of course." Scorpius said as he walked over taking a seat beside her. Naturally he kicked off his shoes, to make sure he didn't get her blanket dirty. Jasmine took out the bottle and he looked it over. The girl told him it was harsh and he quirked an eyebrow. "I'm sure we can handle it, I mean I drink whiskey occasionally. It can't be that bad." Scorpius said as she admitted she didn't have cups. When she held out the topless bottle for him he took it. "I don't mind, if you don't." Scorpius mused as he brought it to his lips and allowed himself to take a drank of the wine. The first sip always burned, but damn was she right it was a bit harsher then dinner wine. Scorpius placed the bottle back in her hands and leaned back a bit. "What are your plans for after graduation? I'll miss seeing you around the common room next year. Who else am I going to convince it's alright to sneak out and share a fine bottle of wine?" Scorpius asked with a smile. The school year was coming to an end after all. He was just curious, Scorp knew what he wanted to do in two years, but he knew his father would fight him every step of the way. “Oh! I never thought about that! Jasmine clapped a hand to her mouth as she thought about them having to get back in once their night was over. She laughed a little hystericly, but then shook her head and shrugged it off. “With you in the lead I doubt we’ll have any problems.” Again Jasmine found herself thinking about how many times Scorpius had done this before only to come to the same conclusion she had earlier; all that mattered was that she was with him now and besides she had no claim on him. So as they made their way to the Pitch, her mind wandered towards what the night might have in store for them. If they got caught, what would that mean for them? What would Jackson say? Would he be proud or disappointed in his sister for allowing herself to let loose this one time? Not wanting thoughts of what was expected or what was right to bother her, Jasmine shook her head and cleared out those thoughts so she could just enjoy the night.
As they stopped in the stadium, Jasmine blushed, “Thank you Scorpius, that was very gracious of you.” Unable to keep his gaze, Jasmine looked down, but smiled as she spoke. “I wasn’t blessed with my father’s bravery, Jackson got that. Having that much pressure riding on me I know I couldn’t do it. Not that it wouldn’t be fun.” Jasmine had flown a few times with Jackson, but it was more for him and not for her. “I enjoy flying, it’s a feeling unlike any other, but playing Quidditch, she shook her head and laughed lightly, “that takes a kind of skill and courage I just don’t have, but I’m ok with that because I can cheer one my favorite players.” Her smile brightened as she nudged Scorpius playfully. He was easy to be around, almost like she was talking to her brother, But he isn’t your brother, as if she needed reminding. If she felt this way about her brother it would be a crime. At his offer, Jasmine couldn’t help but look at him and smile, he was much sweeter than his reputation allowed. “I would like that, though I doubt it will make me anywhere near as good as you are.” With a giggle she looked up at the sky to admire the stars.
For the smallest amount of time she actually saw herself flying around the Pitch with Scorpius coaching her. It as a pleasant thought, not only because again Scorpius would be her company but because she would have something she could share with her family. It disappointed her at times that she wasn’t as good at Quidditch as her father and brother though they never showed any disappointment in the matter. Jasmine loved being able to cheer on those she cared about, having a friend or acquaintance such as Scorpius made that joy even greater. It was at those times that she longed to be more a part of the game than she was, but the fear of all that attention and pressure quickly melted her resolve.
As Scoprius joined her, she felt her heart beat quicken yet again. She was glad he didn’t sit too far away. The way he reacted to her description of the wines intensity made her smile, “Oh, if you drink wiskey then I’m sure you can handle this stuff.” Jasmine giggled. Glad that she didn’t have to be inventive, she watched as Scorpius took a sip and smirked at his reaction. I warned him, she thougth, but kept silent on the matter as he handed the bottle back to her. Slowly she raised the bottle to her lips and took a sip, of course it burned but she was ready for it, but her body shook for a minute as the liquid slid down her throat. “Don’t think we’ll be getting cold tonight,” she offered handing the bottle back as the heat radiated through her.
The weather was beautiful and the company was excellent, but her mind drifted to how close graduation was and what that would mean for this meeting. Even if she wanted more to come of this she couldn’t allow it. Why bother getting into something that would only end in heartache not that she expected anything of the sort. With a sigh she looked around the pitch again as Scoprius spoke. At his words she glanced his way and felt her heart sink because he was thinking about the same thing she was. She took another swig as the bottle was handed to her, this time it was a much larger drink than before which burned even more. He eyes closed and she gasped after swallowing, but she soon recovered to answer his question. “You know, I’ve thought about that for years, but I’m still not quite sure.” Already she could feel the alcohol affecting her mind. “I’m sure I’ll end up with some Ministry Job as my parents desire me, but I can’t imagine myself locked away in an office for the rest of my life.” She laughed and shook her head, “Ok, so that isn’t entirely true, I can see myself working in the Magical Law Enforcement department. I wouldn’t mind being a lawyer. My blunt nature might just win me approval.” Jasmine chuckled to herself, but then stopped. “I wish I could go back to first year.” Her voice was soft as she stared in front of her at noting in particular. “I would do so many things different. I shut so many people out over the years that I missed out on experiences that might have made my life different.” She sighed and chuckled to herself. “Forgive me, with graduation so close I find myself thinking about what I could have done differently. I even thought about getting a teaching job here, though my parents would hate it. I’m going to miss this place, and you.” She smiled, not editing her words like she would have had drink not started to take over her. “What about you Scoprius, what are you going to do?” Enough about her, she wanted to learn more about the boy next to her.

FEELING SO FAITHLESS lost under the surface Quidditch was something Scorpius accomplished on his journey to define himself. From a young age he could remember his house maid playing the game with him, teaching him. Scorpius' father had played when he was back in school, but it never felt like Draco had much time to teach his son. Scorpius was overall independent because of the time he spent alone. Through the years his parents worked for the ministry therefore he'd take that loss of interactions with them. Of course he went down and visited them, as his father showed him off to the wizarding world, claiming he'd be in the ministry soon enough. The thought of being a suit wasn't one he was fond of. Scorpius did want to make his parents proud, and that was often why he bit his tongue. But thinking he had no choices to make on his own bothered him a great deal. Scorpius wanted to play quidditch professionally. It was a huge part of his life. He remembered when he was graced captain at the end of last year, how everyone knew he'd be a strict and faithful leader. The team had won many games this year. A frown fell on his face when Jasmine spoke of how she wasn't brave like her father. Not brave enough to be put under the pressure the sport brought, it wasn't suppose to do that.
"It's suppose to be fun. It has nothing to do with bravery it has all to do with passion. If you wanted to do it you would. You don't need to hide from the thrill of quidditch. It does take skill and it also takes dedication. Something I believe everyone has." Scorpius explained, it didn't matter if she was scared. If she wanted to play, she would. Maybe this pep talk was why he was captain. He was good at speaking his mind, and wearing his heart on his sleeve. Scorpius was glad she nudged him showing the indication that he was one of her favorite players. "I'm glad I fit your standards." He mused with a charming grin. Scorpius was naturally cocky and confident when it came to quidditch. "I guess you couldn't watch me play if you were focused on playing." He said, he rather her follow her dreams then to let him steal the lime light, but he wasn't sure if she liked playing much. The boy offered to teach her and she replied she wouldn't be as good as him. "Well if you put your blood, sweat and tears into the game like I do, you certainly may be a close second to my skills." He mused taking the bottle from her when it was handed his way. He brought it to his lips taking a long drink.
Jasmine was right, wine may have gotten him more catty but it wasn't as strong as fire whiskey. He knew a spell that could make the night better. "We both can handle wine, but what about something stronger?" Scorpius asked with a sly look in his eyes. He hoped she didn't mind his correction, but he figured it could make things more interesting. He pulled out his wand and muttered a spell he learned from his father. Transfiguration was a strong suit of his, and he put his wand away and took another sip. "Much better." He said, the wine was now a bottle of fire whiskey. Could she hang now? Where may the night lead? Scorpius leaned back as the topic switched to speak of graduation. He listened to her speak about dreams and impressing her parents. She wanted to go back to first year because she missed out? He felt the same way sometimes, but he couldn't say he didn't live his life the way he wanted to. Some feared the Malfoy boy, judged him without giving him a chance. He wished he could have showed them he wasn't a prissy brat like his father, but he was so sick he just allowed himself to become coarse. Scorpius was always a bit standoffish but he liked his reputation of not being someone to mess with. "I think we have that in common, we want to impress our parents so much. We drown out our will to do what we please. To follow our dreams." Scorpius admitted it was nice having someone who got that. "My father wants me to join the ministry and be an auror, where I would love nothing more then to play quidditch professionally. Can you see it, little Scorpius Malfoy action figured and the crowds chanting my name? Much bigger then the crowd here at school." He said with a hint of a smile.
"I'm also arranged to be married.." He said ruffling his hair, another thing his parents forced him to doing. It wasn't like he was stuck with someone repulsive, but he much rather be able to have a choice that wouldn't displease the Malfoys. "At least you don't have to deal with that, but I'm sure your father has thought about it once in your life." He said, after all all pure bloods wanted that for their children. Jasmine was only half but to his knowledge her father was pure. Taking another sip from the bottle when it was handed back to him. It was nice having someone to talk to. He felt it was alright to open up to Jasmine a bit. Jasmine listened to Scorpius as he talked about Quidditch. It was apparent that the sport was his passion. Just the way he talked about it made her smile. His words showed just how much the sport meant to him, but what was more was that he was trying to make her feel better. Even though she had admitted she probably never would be able to play the sport herself, he still defended her in the sake of the game. Jasmine smiled as she watched him in the dark. He was really a sweet guy and she was glad to know him even if she knew nothing would happen because he was her brother’s friend. Just when she thought she couldn’t admire Scorpius anymore, she found herself swelling with admiration. Everything he said just made her feel even more glad to be there with him.
“You really love what you do.” She noted with a smile as she took a quick drink. “I enjoy playing around with my father and brother, but it’s just not for me.” A smirk played on her lips as she leaned closer to him, lowering her voice. “I’m much too pretty to take a Bludger to the face.” Slowly her smirk turned to a full smile as a giggle escaped her lips. Quickly she clipped off the sound, but not as fast as she normally would have, but when Scorpius spoke of her not being able to watch him she couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh and how I do love to watch you play.” She giggled again which sounded strange to her, but it was a welcome sound. Not often was it that Jasmine was able to let a laugh escape her that she didn’t have to alter. “I don’t see myself bleeding for the sport,” Jasmine admitted. “I’ve only ever heard my father and Jackson talk about Quidditch like that. It’s refreshing to hear it from someone else.” She had always just thought it was a family thing, but she was glad to hear it come from another mouth.
As Scorpius asked she could handle something strong she was about to say no, but thought better of it. “Do your worst, Malfoy.” She teased, feeling the liquor seep into her system. She watched as he performed the spell. She found herself wondering if he had used the spell many times before. I really need to stop doing that. She warned herself. If she kept second guessing herself like that she was never going to enjoy her time with Scorpius, no matter how long they spent together. When he offered the bottle back to her, with the changed liquid inside, she made the mistake of smelling it first. A small coughed escaped her as she looked at Scoprius sheepishly. “I hope I can make it.” She laughed and then took a drink. Though it burned it wasn’t as harsh as it smelled. She gasped but smiled and nook another drink. “That’s good.” Feeling light headed, she handed the bottle back to him and leaned back on her hands looking at the sky.
Jasmine looked back at Scorpius as he went on to talk about himself. She was glad he was opening up to her. At first she had wondered how the night was going to go and if he was going to be cold and indifferent like he appeared to be most of the time. This Scorpius was not what she was used to, but she was enjoying this side of him. It was nice to see they had something in common, it surprised her but she liked it. “I wonder what they would do if we just went out and did our own thing. I mean instead of doing what they expect, just do what we want. Sure they might get upset, but they love us right? Surely they couldn’t be too mad at us. You could play Quidditch, get that action figure, listen to those fans screaming your name.” Jasmine giggled, and this time she didn’t clip the sound. She was having a great time and then he told her he was arranged to be married. “Oh,” Jasmine didn’t know how to take that. Was he warning her to not get too much closer or was he just talking to get it off his chest. Either way, Jasmine didn’t know what to say. As he went on to say she didn’t have to deal with that, she had to admit he was right. “I’m sure my father would love to set me up with someone, but my mother would never let him.” She sounded less excited that before and in fact she was. Though she wasn’t sure what she had hoped for the evening, she knew it was out of reach.
Jasmine looked away from Scorpius again and took the bottle from his hand, not really paying attention to weather he was done with it or not. Clumsily she put the opening to her lips and tilted the bottle, some of the liquor spilled down her chin, but she didn’t care. The liquid burned her throat as she took three long pulls before pulling it way again. She gasped several times and coughed as she handed him the bottle back. Not sure if her arms would hold her, she flopped down on the blanket, and closed her eyes. She was slightly embarrassed about how she’d just acted and didn’t want to see the look Scorpius gave her. Now what? She wondered miserably. She felt terrible even as the liquid sent warmth through her body. How was it that nothing seemed to go right for her? Finally, Jasmine opened her eyes and felt everything shift dizzily. She moaned a little and laughed. Apparently she couldn’t hand the hard stuff. As she looked at the stars she couldn’t help, but wonder what Scorpius thought about the arranged marriage. Eventually that wonder lead to her opening her mouth, “Scorpius,” she began quietly, “can I ask you something?” Though she wasn’t sure she wanted to know, she had to ask. “How do you feel about your situation? I mean, about not being able to choose who you marry?” She felt her heart sink. “I mean don’t you want a choice?” Jasmine was scared to know the answer, but she felt she had to know. At least maybe it will help me clear my head. She felt dizzy and decided not to move though she suddenly had the desire to move closer to Scorpius.
