With a disgusted sound in the back of her throat, Jasmine flopped down on the grass right in the middle of the Quidditch Pitch, her cloak billowing out around her. For some strange reason, she was nervous which annoyed her beyond belief. Why should she be nervous? It wasn’t as if she was doing something against the rules. As it was she happened to have a free hour at that time, but that wasn’t why she felt anxious; she was meeting Jackson here and that’s why she was nervous. Stupid girl, Jasmine cursed at herself. Jackson was her brother, they were family, twins and they knew each other better than anyone else and yet she felt anxious to see him which was strange because she was the one who asked him to meter her here. Granted she had to use an elementary form of communication because it seemed impossible to get Jackson alone anymore. While in an incredibly boring class, Jasmine scribbled a short note to her brother, asking him to meet her here. Naturally she would have liked to give the note to him in person or at the very least ask him to his face, but it was hard to get even a second with Jackson these days. It’s pretty bad if you have to make an appointment to see your brother.
Tough Jasmine was annoyed, it didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy the weather. It wasn’t nearly as nice as she would have liked, pretty chilly and not nearly as sunny as was preferred, but it was still beautiful. A light breeze danced around the pitch, sending chills through Jasmine’s body and raising goose bumps across her skin. With a smile she looked around her at the empty stadium, it was strange to see things from this prospective. Even without anyone in the stands this place was still intimidating. It was hard for Jasmine to understand how her father and her brother could walk out into a place like this filled with fans and haters alike and still keep their calm. If it were Jasmine walking out before a match, she probably would have puked at least once; real lady like. Unable to suppress it, Jasmine let out a giggle, but automatically clipped it off and looked around her even though she knew no one was around to hear her. Allowing very colorful profanity to go through her mind, Jasmine cursed herself for needing to be proper even alone. What a joke she’d become even if it was just to herself though she highly doubted she was the only one laughing at herself.
Tired of feeling sorry for herself, Jasmine shifted her thoughts to her brother, something she did quite often actually. No matter where she was or who she was with, though being with others was becoming rare due to her cold persona, she always thought about her brother and if he was alright. Growing up they were close, but even being twins there was bound to be things they kept to themselves. Take Jasmine’s crush, maybe crushes, she wasn’t quite sure yet, Jackson didn’t know or she hoped he didn’t know, that she secretly had a crush on his friend and team captain Scorpius. She wasn’t even sure if crush was the right word for it. She thought he was cute and he was nice to her in the best way he knew, but when they talked Jackson wasn’t far behind so what chance did she have to get to know him or how she really felt about him. Then there was Gryphon, where to start with him? Ever since their first year he had been a present aspect in her life. Though they never talked much, Gryphon was always there. They had classes together, he was very persistent and even when he wasn’t directing his attention towards her, it was hard not to feel drawn towards him. To be honest she envied him because of how open he was and how free he was. He didn’t care what anyone thought about him or what was expected of him, he was just him and he wasn’t about to let anyone change that. Jasmine sighed, If only I was that confident, she thought miserably.
Though it had been a while since they had talked one on one, Jasmine couldn’t wait to see her brother. With him she could be herself, not the uptight person she was with everyone else, but the free and laid back person she wished she could always be. Jasmine wasn’t always this cold shell of a person and Jackson brought that out of her, he was the only one who could without chemical aid or awkward social stimulants. With Jackson she was a normal teenage girl; she could laugh wholeheartedly, she could cry without the fear of being made fun of she could tell him her deepest, darkest secrets and know he would never tell a soul. It was the same with Jackson, Jasmine was his secret keeper. Even though that should have been the case, Jasmine wasn’t sure if it really was. She felt like something was going on with him that he wasn’t telling her and it bothered her. That’s what this meeting was about. Jasmine hoped that getting Jackson alone, away from his friends and other distractions, would get him to open up completely and if he did so would she.
