DON'T LOSE IT ALL IN THE BLUR OF THE STARSSeeing is deceiving, dreaming is believingSOMETIMES ITS HARD TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` It was finally time to go back to the Hogwarts, time to return to her save haven. Ravenna hated breaks, she hated being at home. As much as she couldn't deny she enjoyed spending time with her brother, her father always made everything so hard to enjoy. Rae would sit there with her back straight, she'd speak if it added to the silence, and she'd never think of disobeying her father. Growing up her life was fantastic, until she moved to London with her family. The young girl quickly learned how to become a prized daughter, often forgetting who she was when she was in that setting. Finally after being scolded about her hair being frizzy, Ravenna got to take the Hogwarts express back to the castle. It was hard to break her perfect little mold after being around her father for more then a day. She sat alone with a book, crossed legged not speaking much the whole ride. Her father said her books and writing was horrible and fake, but she took him as a critic and never got discouraged. When she arrived at Hogsmeade station the students were transported back the the castle. Rae was excited to spend some time roamed the familiar corridors and to have dinner with her peers.
After roaming for a while she went into the Great Hall to sit with the Hufflepuffs, she had grown up around. Rae took a seat listening to the school announcements. She was glad to hear nothing negative, it was a change. As the feast appeared in front of everyone she licked her lips. After her father put her on a water, calorie counting diet for being fat she was thrilled to eat real food. Rae always had low self esteem but she was on the rather small side as was, she didn't need this diet. Obliging to avoid an dispute she did what her father asked of her. The smell of food filled her nose, and when instructed to begin, she made herself a nice little plate and ate. She didn't want to look like a starving child, but it just so happened she was. After she was full she stayed in the Great Hall and conversed. She acted a bit more prissy then she normally would, but it was built in. Embarrassed about it she figured it may have been best if she went to the library and studied til it was closed. She could then just go back to her dormitory and sleep.
The brunette made her way to the fourth floor and slid into the library. She stopped and talked to the librarian, a friend of her's catching up. Rae always respected her elders. Just this one in particular was very cool. After conversing for a moment she walked deeper into the library. She would find a nice quite spot, to finish the home work she hadn't over break. She was her father's servant when she was home, so that occupied most of her time. She didn't curse it though, it was just something that defined who she was. Walking with her books pressed to her chest she had noticed a face that wasn't indigenous to this area. Her brown eyes squinted as she smiled at none other then James Potter. Ravenna always thought he was a pretty boy, not that it was a bad thing, but didn't Potter have something better to be doing then studying? A skirt to chance, or mischief to manage. Was he even doing that? She was curious to find out, he may have been plotting a prank or something worth watching. Ravenna walked over and pulled out the chair beside him. "This seat taken?" She asked politely, she noticed no one was around so she took a seat. "James, not used to seeing you in the library, what are you up to?" She asked raising an eyebrow. He'd probably pick up on why she was asking. Rae never doubted the boy was intelligent, they were decent friends. She would never make an assumption about him, but she didn't think studying or research were in his interests. She spent a lot of time in the library, and she never really saw him unless he was grabbing his little younger brother. Ravenna placed her books in front of her, she looked over to James once more hoping he'd enlighten her. It was hard to believe that Easter was already over and school was back in session. Had that time really flown by that fast? James was equally excited and not about it, especially since he had to spend his first night back in the Library. That would seem like a strange concept for a guy like James, and he expected a lot of heads to turn in his direction as he entered the Library, but he had no choice. With everything that had happened over the holiday at home, James never got a chance to finish his homework and he knew that he would need to have it done before classes resumed the following day. He had thought about doing it on the train, but he ended up getting sidetracked with Fred. It had been during the first dinner back that he remembered and took his books to the Library as soon as he got back to his dormitory.
Once he walked into the Library, James found himself a corner that wasn’t as inhabited as the rest. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to be around anyone else in the Library, but he just wanted to get his work done as quickly as possible and then get back to his dormitory. He was sure he was missing something important or fun right now, but he had to get this done. He only had two essays to write, or at least one and a half essays to write. Charms and Transfiguration were good classes for him, but he had just not been able to finish those two essays over the break. His mind had been overcome with something else that was far more important, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to tell anyone what it was. Ignoring the stares he got from the people that were surprised to see him there, James opened up his Charms textbook so that he could finish that essay.
After about twenty minutes, he finished his Charms essay and then got started on his Transfiguration essay. Thankfully he had done the reading for the essay already, now he only had to put it all down in his own thoughts and make it coherent. He had just finished his third paragraph when he saw a movement beside him. He looked up to see Ravenna Rosewood pulling out a chair beside him asking if the seat was taken and he smiled at her. James has known Ravenna for a long time, since she started school at Hogwarts a year after him, and he always found himself feeling like a different person when he was with her. He could never explain it, but he did, though he’s never told her that either. He wasn’t sure how she would take it and he couldn’t explain it if she asked for one so he felt it was better to just leave it alone.
“No, it’s not,” he told her just before she lowered herself into it. She then observed that she didn’t often see him in the Library and asked him what he was up to. “Nothing really. Just finishing up my Transfiguration essay before class tomorrow,” he told her as he ran his fingers through his hair. “I didn’t get to finish it while I was home and I know Professor Donovan will have my head if I don’t have it in on time,” he told her. He then noticed her books and raised an eyebrow. “Don’t tell me you didn’t finish your homework over the break too,” he said with a mock sense of shock. “I would have expected more from you,” he joked. “What class do you have to work on? Maybe I can help,” he said, though he doubted she’d want his help. He wasn’t known for being a brain, that was his brother Albus, but he was far from stupid.

DON'T LOSE IT ALL IN THE BLUR OF THE STARSSeeing is deceiving, dreaming is believingSOMETIMES ITS HARD TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Ravenna was a bit shocked to see James in the library of all places. She wondered for a moment what he had been up to, but the books and parchment in front of him proved he was just doing school related work. Rae found James rather adorable, from his proud ego to his dimpled smirk, she found herself comfortable around him. Rae was normally uptight around guys when she was in her school setting. When the uniform came off she could be herself, a charming girl of sorts. James just made her feel like she could be that kind of girl all the time, and she never hid anything from him. Well, for the most part, he had been through a rough year without his father she imagined. Something else they had in common, they had both lost a parent in an attack. Rae never really brought out her past around James, because she hated to let herself become a stress on someone else. Did she trust the Potter boy, naturally. Just some things were better left untold for good reasons. Ravenna also sort of liked to let others guess about her, the mysterious side of her was rather well kept.
After taking a seat she was glad he had paused his work to chat with her. Ravenna sat up straight and crossed her legs readying herself for school work. She listened to him explain his reasoning for being in the library and she grinned. "Professor Donovan, charming one isn't he?" She said sarcastically with a giggle. Rae always thought of the professor as a noisy kitten, he may have been harsh, but he wanted to see his students succeed. Most of her professors liked her because her work was always done on time, and her grades were great. Ravenna looked to her book and frowned. James had expected more from her, normally she got things done it was just break and being around her father. She swore she had done everything for that man. Ran his bathwater, cleaned the manor for him, figuratively hand fed him with a silver spoon. It got her angry how unappreciative he was at times. She learned to smile no matter what, and so it was placed on her lips as she looked to James. "Busy break, I did most of the reading on the train, but I have to do my Arithmancy homework and Alchemy essay." She said scrunching her nose. Science and math, how fun she thought with a roll of her eyes. She had done her other work at home, the last night of break. She had tried to cram it all in at once but she lacked sleep and figured she'd finish at school.
Alchemy was only appointed to sixth and seventh years, she hadn't really liked it much. When James offered to help her she have him a charming smile. "James Potter, offering to help me with my homework. What an honor." She said with a dramatic gasp of air, pushing his arm playfully. "No, you don't need to help me James. It's rather simple and I wouldn't want you to break your focus on transfiguration." She explained, she was glad he offered though. The subjects were rather different and she wouldn't want to be a burden on him. Rae opened her book and and took out the printed parchment for Arithmancy. She wondered why she took this class, it was rather challenging but completely useless to what she wanted to do in life. Rae dipped her quill in ink and jotted down a couple answers before looking back to James. "How was your Easter break, do anything exciting?" She asked, normally she'd go visit James over the summer to spend a couple days with him. Of course she lied to her father to get there. If that man knew she was speaking with a boy less the pure, a Potter at that she'd be in trouble. It made Rae like hanging out with James even more, because her father would disapprove. She wouldn't comply with everything he said. If that were the case she'd be forced to be around arrogant Slytherins all day. The thought was repulsing. As much as James needed to get this work done before he packed it in for the night, he was glad with the distraction. James wasn't a fool, or an idiot, by any stretch, and he got decent grades despite popular belief, but he has never been one for doing homework or studying, and he always preferred to play first and work later. He was quite the procrastinator when it came to his homework, but he always got it done, and did a good job when he did it. It was likely due to the fact that James worked better under pressure, and knowing that he only had a day or two to do a huge project gave him more determination to get it done than all the previous days when he simply thought 'I can do it tomorrow', which he did on a mere constant basis. That was probably one of his worst traits, but it worked for him so he had no intentions of changing that anytime soon.
Rae had asked him what he was doing in the Library, stating that she wasn't used to seeing him in there, and he simply smirked and explained that he was finishing up some homework he didn't get to finish over the break. He chuckled softly at her comment about the Transfiguration professor and nodded his head. "Yeah, the man's definitely a ball of sunshine," he joked. They both knew that Donovan was far from a nice guy, and he more often had a sour look on his face than a pleasant one. "I think I've only seen that man smile once or twice in the three years he's been here," he said as he thought about it, though shook his head so he could remove those thoughts from his mind. He was not about to start thinking of Professor Donovan. If ever there was a way to kill the mood, thinking about a professor no one likes was it. And the last thing he wanted to do was be a buzz kill right now.
When he asked Rae if she was in the Library to finish her own homework from the break, he had been surprised to hear that he was right. "Really? I never would have thought," he teased playfully. He always knew Rae was a smart girl, but he never took her for a procrastinator like him. "Have I been rubbing off on you?" he asked, his tone still playful and his words being meant as a joke. He had no idea what Rae did when she was at home, or how much time she had to devote to her studies while there. Just as she didn't know what he did when he was home on break or why he hadn't had a chance to finish the work he was doing now. "Well, I’d take my work over yours any day," he told her after she told him that she had Arithmancy and Alchemy work to do. He wasn't taking Arithmancy, but he did take Alchemy and was pretty decent in the class, though, again, he didn't often brag about his grades because it would be unbecoming of him.
When he had offered t help her with her work, it had only been half-hearted. He wasn't the best person to give homework help, but he felt it would be rude to not at least offer. Whether she took him up on it or not was entirely up to her, though he was sure she wouldn't. "I do what I can," he said with a smirk when she told him it was an honor to get homework help from him. "All right then, but don't say I didn't offer," he told her after she politely declined his offer of help. He looked back at his homework and sighed before picking up his quill once more. Before he could write anything more on the parchment, Rae asked him about his break. "It was… all right, I guess. Nothing too eventful happened," he lied, not wanting to get into the story of his lost friendship with Ben or his heart to heart with Albus. "How was yours?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

DON'T LOSE IT ALL IN THE BLUR OF THE STARSSeeing is deceiving, dreaming is believingSOMETIMES ITS HARD TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Ravenna was actually happy she found James in the library. At first she thought her night was going to be rather boring, just finishing up her work and straight for bed. James was brilliant company as far as she was concerned, much more then what she could have asked for. When around James, she felt alive and it was good she could feel this way after her horrible break. It would also help bend the mold her father had created for her, the proper act she put on. Ravenna struggled with it and always seeing it, but when he spirits were lifted she couldn't deny she was back in character. When James admitted to doing his transfiguration essay the two joked about the professor. Rae didn't mine the professor she was always on her best behavior in all her classes so she didn't make bad impressions. Professor Donovan was a tough professor and she admired a challenge. Why not? There was nothing wrong with being strict and keen to some of the student's antics. Rae grinned when he said he was a ball of sunshine, she giggled. "Of course first thing I want to wake up to in the morning, and I think I've seen him smile.... never. What a cruel life, so groggy." She finalized. After a few joked things got a bit more serious and she was thinking about her homework.
That bloody Potter boy, why was he such a distraction? Ravenna was always one to just ignore everything til her studies were done but the playful nature made it hard to concentrate. When James spoke of how he wouldn't think she wouldn't do her home work she grinned. "Full of surprises, I am." She said with a practiced smile. She really was by knowing her at school one would think she was sweet heart, but this wasn't the case all the time. When James asked had he been rubbing off on her she giggled. "Of course that explains it, I got the procrastinating gene from James. Where do you come up with these diagnosis, Doctor?" She asked wide eyed and curious. Ravenna felt herself lighten up, as she slouched a bit. Becoming herself, she looked to him. "Is that so? Taking the easy way out Mr. Potter?" She asked with a quirked eyebrow. Ravenna was only teasing. "I would much rather avoid homework all together to be honest. If only it wrote itself." She said dramatically as she looked to a few of the questions on her paper jotting down the answers. Rae wasn't one to have all fun, but she could certainly multitask. Her grades were important, and if she got anything lower then a 'P' she wouldn't see the light of day.
It was nice of James to offer her homework help, but she declined. The only reason she did was because if they both did her work, then he wouldn't finish his. Rae thought they'd round off at the same time if they both worked separately, leaving time to catch up and whatnot. She had pretended to be in shock when he offered to help and at his come back she grinned. "I would never say you didn't Jamie-poo" She said adding her own little nick name. She regretted it after she said it, because it was typical and he probably dealt with similar nick names all day. Rae liked to be one of a kind, he'd earn a special nickname before graduation. Rae wrote down a couple more answers doing out some work, as she asked him about his break. When he told her it was alright, and paused she wondered if she could detect a lie. "Just alright? What did you do?" She asked looking to him for a moment. Surely James had a better story then her. "It wasn't the best but who am I to complain?" she asked shrugging. She wouldn't further explain unless he really wanted her to. Then she'd have to be honest, but keep the harsh details to herself. Rae looked James over for a moment, she couldn't imagine Hogwarts without James. Rae knew he'd go on and be a brilliant quidditch player but that wouldn't mean she wouldn't miss those dimples and that charming smirk of his. "After homework we should do something exciting, is Mister Potter, up for an adventure with yours truly?" Rae asked. She wasn't sure what they could do just yet, she just wanted to savor her time with him. James couldn't help but find it a little strange that he and Ravenna were talking about their Transfiguration professor in such a way. Of course, James thought those things about the older man, but he had been surprised by Rae's eagerness to join in on the professor bashing session. "Well, it's certainly not a common thing for him," James said to her when she told him she's never seen the man smile even once. "Either he was severely neglected as a child, or he has one of those turbulent pasts that make him so sour," James said with a smirk. "And he's clearly not gotten laid in a while either, or else he wouldn't be that sour," James added with a snort. James knew it was wrong to be saying such things about his professor, especially since he didn't know the truth, but it wasn't like he was saying it to the professor's face or anything.
The conversation moved from their Transfiguration professor to the reason why they were each in the Library. To his surprise, she was there for the same reason he was, because she hadn't finished her homework. Even though they were a year apart and didn't share any classes, James didn't see Rae as one of those procrastinator types. "So I see," he said when she told him that she was just full of surprises. He chuckled softly when she told him that it was his fault for rubbing off on her and he shook his head. She had then asked him where he came up with his diagnosis and even called him a doctor. If she only knew how badly he'd like to play doctor with her, he thought to himself as he bit his lower lip while listening to her.
Had he really just though that? James blinked once, but made no other facial acknowledgement of the thought that has just crossed his mind. Where had it come from. He wasn't sure he had any real idea, but he did find it a bit scary. James has never thought of Rae like that. True, he's always thought she was beautiful, but he never really flirted with her the way he did with the girls he hooked up with during his years at Hogwarts. Had there been an underlying reason for that? James had no idea, especially since this stuff was a bit out of his reach. He's never cared for relationships or commitments before, so why was he suddenly starting to think about it? he took a deep breath and then refocused on what Rae was saying so that he didn't make her think he wasn't paying attention to what she was saying.
"Homework, essays, tests even," he said when she commented on homework writing itself. "I've thought of using a Quick Quotes Quill a time or two before, but I'm just afraid it will get something wrong and I'd have to redo the whole thing," he said. "That would take the whole point of using it in the first place away, so I've just never bothered," he said, though also pretty sure his father would have never let one in the house. James remembered his father telling him once when he had his first run in with one of those, in his fourth year when he had first met Rita Skeeter when he had been duped into being a part of the Tri-wizard Tournament. "Oh, I would love homework so much more if we didn't have to do it at all," he agreed. "Guess that's one thing I have to look forward to after I leave this place in a couple months," he said.
Before they got back to doing their work, she asked him how his break was and he shrugged and told her it was all right. She seemed surprised by that as well and then asked what he did. "Not a whole lot really. Just what I normally do," he lied, not really wanting to get into detail about his brother and Ben and everything that happened. He then asked her what she did for hers and she said that it wasn't the best, but that she wouldn't complain. "Oh? What happened to make it not so good?" he asked. Whether she would tell him or not, he had no idea, especially since he didn't divulge his own Easter break. "When am I never up for an adventure?" he asked with a devious smirk before the two settled down to do their homework.
Three quarters of an hour later, James finished his the last of his essay and looked over at her as she finished up hers. He closed his books and then propped his elbow up on the table and rested his chin in his palm. "Almost done?" he asked as his light blue eyes looked over her features. He couldn't help but notice the way her air fell over her face or how her face scrunched up slightly when she was concentrating on something. Realizing how he must look, though hoping she hadn't noticed, James knocked himself back into reality and started putting his books back away. "So, Miss Adventure, what did you have in mind?" he asked her as she started to roll up her essay. Since she was the one who first suggested an adventure, he felt it was only fair for her to decide. "Though it's getting late, and we don't want to keep you out past curfew, do we?" he asked mischievously.

DON'T LOSE IT ALL IN THE BLUR OF THE STARSSeeing is deceiving, dreaming is believingSOMETIMES ITS HARD TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` Ravenna couldn't agree with James more when speaking about Professor Donovan. He did seem to be a cranky guy. When James said he clearly hadn't gotten laid she giggled a bit. "Clearly. Perhaps some female affection would do him some good." She concluded. She really didn't want to think about her professor getting laid, it was a bit disturbing. Not to say he wasn't a handsome fella, Rae just didn't like thinking about someone she saw everyday in that standard. Rae cleared her mind and listened to James speak about rubbing off on her. She had been teasing when she agreed to it, but she really hadn't done her homework. Rae called him doctor in a sarcastic manner, but not in a rude way. She acted flabbergasted when speaking about the diagnosis and giggled to herself. Doctor, she wouldn't mind being a patient of James' surely he'd fix her up. Then again her mind let a less then innocent thought in, and she pushed it away. Rae always thought the oldest Potter was good looking, charming and sweet. Not that he flirted with her, but his personality was just one she liked to find herself around. Rae didn't get to spend time with James as much as she'd like to so she took advantage of these moments with him. It wasn't everyday she had James alone, without his adoring group of female followers and his quidditch buddies. James was popular, and she knew that. Rae was in her own way, but the two never really spent much time in the same groups. It was nice to be sitting there talking like they were the best of friends.
Rae did wish her homework could do itself. It would save her the trouble of doing it, but if she had done it. She may have not had this time to converse with James. The boy spoke of using a Quick Quotes Quill, and she grinned. He did like the easy way, but she was glad he was more conscious of what mistakes could be made if he did. While it was silent she finished up one of her assignments signing her name. A frown appeared on her face when James said he'd look forward to no homework when he was done with school. Rae knew he was a year older then her, but it didn't mean she wouldn't miss him. Rae never understood how he had this little pull on her. How being around him made her over think, but she didn't question it. Ravenna always had this safe feeling around James, which was more then she could say for most people. She was cynical about liking guys, and allowing people too close but if she could open up a bit she'd do it for someone who would understand and listen. Rae knew she didn't live a luxurious, glam life but she still was her. She'd always have herself, and that's what drove her to be her best. The thought of anyone having control over her heart was terrifying. She also knew James didn't date. Weather he was afraid of love, or just never felt it she didn't pry. Maybe they had more in common then she thought, it could happen. "I'll miss seeing your face in the halls when your gone. I guess I'll just have to run the school next year and take over. It'll be hard to meet the mark you have when it comes to running things." She cooed. She was confident she could handle the pranks and keeping her professors on their toes, Rae just wasn't as social as James.
The two went on to talk about their vacations and she regretted her word choice. Rae hadn't expected James to question why her vacation wasn't the greatest. How to be honest, but not allow him too close, just close enough to understand. Honesty - "Pure blooded father, he'd just not the nicest person in the world. I try hard to please him and make him proud. I just can't handle being around him for too long. If it isn't chores, it's not being the perfect little lady he wants me to be. I just lose myself when I'm home." She shrugged and looked to her paper. There she did it, she felt like she just gave a blurb about her life story but she trusted him with it. Damn that Potter boy. The topic changed again, and she grinned looking up from her paper. "My point exactly. I know James Potter wouldn't turn down an adventure with Moi." She said adding a little French at the end, to be cliche. Silence fell between them and for a good hour she focused on her essay. She had just finished when James asked when she was done. Rae smiled sweetly. "I am" she said excited. James asked what she had in mind and Rae gave him a devilish smirk. "Well the care taker he pissed me off the other day. I was getting a midnight snack, and he busted me, I got detention, you know those books in the library don't alphabetize themselves." She reminisced not being able to use magic while doing her chore. Ravenna went into her purse and pulled out a bottle. "I plan on getting him back, and then maybe we can play some jokes on the prefects." The bottle she had was a trick from James' uncle's company. Weather in a Bottle. She'd make it rain on the caretaker like he did on her parade. "Of course prefects are always fun to prank, especially your little brother. Not that I've done anything too bad to little Alby, I just find it funny when he is flustered." Rae admitted, hoping James wouldn't think the worst of her. Albus was an easy target, but she hadn't been mean out of respect for her own friendship with Albus. "What do you say, Mr. Master of Mischief?" She said packing up her things and placing them into her purse.

James could not figure out why he and Rae were talking about Professor Donovan’s love life. The thought of that alone was enough to make the boy queasy, and yet here they were discussing it like it was a common thing. James couldn’t deny that it was an amusing conversation though, especially when Rae agreed with him about the professor needing to get laid. "A little affection never hurt anyone,” he said with a smirk. James was no stranger to female affection, or getting close to the opposite sex, and he knew that just about everyone knew it. Lately, however, he hasn't been trying to seek it out like he used to. He was getting tired of the constant flings without them going anywhere, even though he wasn't sure if he was ready for anything serious now either. But the countless faces were starting to take their toll on the seventh year and he was ready to finally, as his brother would say, grow up.
The idea of settling down with someone, even now, made James feel uneasy. He has never given himself fully to just one person before and, to be quite frank, the idea scared him. He didn't like the idea of putting his life or his heart in one person's hands to where they could do whatever they wanted to it. His brother was the opposite in just about every way where love was concerned. James knew that Albus wanted to be loved, and to love someone, and that he yearned for the romance he read about in his books. James had never been like that, and yet, now, he was starting to slowly realize that there was more to it than he thought. And it was with that thought that James looked at Rae sitting beside him and felt his cheeks heating up. He couldn't put his finger on why he felt this weird feeling in the pit of his stomach when he thought about that in relation to Rae.
Doing his best to keep those feelings at bay, James refocused his thoughts and attention as the conversation continued. The topic turned to him not being here after the end of this year and he felt this strange pooling in the pit of his stomach as he looked over at Rae. She still had another year to go after this one, so she would be here and he would be off playing Quidditch somewhere. "Oh, I'm sure you'll have plenty to occupy your thoughts and time while I am gone," h told her, that sinking feeling not leaving. Why did that idea bother him so much? He couldn't put a finger on it, but the last thing he wanted to do was dwell on it either. "Oh, you think you will, eh? I'll have to make sure I get regular reports from those still here to let me know how you’re doing with that," he joked when she told him that she'd have to take over for him.
When the talk of their vacations came about, James couldn't help but find himself growing more and more curious about her. There was a lot about Rae he didn't know, even though they've been friends for a long time, so he felt asking questions was the best way to go about finding it out. He wasn't sure how much she would divulge, but the most he could do was ask and hope that she'd trust him enough to answer. When he asked what was so bad about home that made her vacation less than stellar, he couldn't help but nod his head silently when she started to explain. "Sounds like a drag," he said. "If you ever want to have a good time over a holiday, you could always come visit me in Godrc's Hollow," he offered before he could even think about what he was saying. "I'm sure my mum won't mind, as long as your dad is okay with it," he said, though he wasn't sure he would since she made it seem like her father was one of those pureblood extremist types. He would surely not let his daughter hang around with a Potter kid.
With the promise of an adventure for after they finished their homework, the two got busy and worked on their unfinished homework. After he finished, he asked if she was and he smiled when she confirmed that she too was finished. He then asked what she had in mind and his grin grew even wider when she told him that the caretaker had been bothering her lately and that she wanted to get him back somehow. "I'm game," he told her through his wide smile. James recognized the bottle she pulled out form his uncle's shop and he was growing even more excited for what was in store for their victims. James laughed loudly, earning him a look from the Librarian, when she told him she liked getting his brother flustered. "Yes, yes he is," he agreed. She started putting her things into her bag and he did the same. "I say lead the way, my young padawan," he said, making a reference to the Star Wars series about Jedi knights.
