Demetrius sighed as walked around the school it had been only a few days since he was pushed into the school, placed in a house and left to defend for himself. He missed his mother and his school Hogwarts was so different and his language problem was getting his way of really understanding the professors. He wasn’t sure what to do the only good thing in his eyes was he made the Hufflepuff Qudditch team. They were so impressed and there was room on the team so he got the spot. Deme was to anti social since his mother dead that he couldn’t bring himself to ask someone for help so he had been spending his off time from classes learning his way around the castle and spending it in the library learning English.
So he was alone most of the school had gone to Hogsmeades apparently it was a weekend thing the school let kids go to but he didn’t have a signed slip so he couldn’t go. Demetrius was told his father had refused. He didn’t know what his so called father had against him. Taking a breath as he left the school and out into the grounds besides the quidditch pitch he really hadn’t spent a lot of time outside. He picked a path and just walked quietly down it. He was happy that he seemed to be alone he didn’t want to get close to anyone in fear of hurting them like he had done to his mother.
Demetrius stopped suddenly and found himself staring at this giant tree. He was amazed by it the anger it seemed to be in he sort of related to it as weird as that sounded. Looking around he found a rock and sat down on it. It was like the tree had caught him into a daze and he was lost to the world.

Venus tugged on her brown locks nervously, her pale hands gripping the desk behind her to stop themselves from shaking. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see from the window behind her, outside of the empty classroom she occupied, that the sun shone brightly, enough to make her turn her head away from it's blinding prescense and enough for her to imagine the warm feeling stretch over her back. It was cold in the classroom though and she could hear students whisper outside as she pressed herself against the desk her hands gripped. Sometimes she felt like this, claustrophobic and out of place, like she didn't belong and it suffocated her, choked and pulled at her heart because that's exactly the kind of feeling she'd never wanted to feel in the first place. Yet with a father like Frenrir Greyback, she wasn't sure if the feeling would ever go away. Maybe it was just her paranoia but maybe it wasn't. She knew she had quite the handful of haters, those who hated her methods of scrambling to the top of the social list and she couldn't help feeling guilty. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just want to be loved but then she has to remind herself it's just her and no one else matters.
Taking a deep breath, Venus eyed the door that lead outside of the classroom with wary eyes. She wondered how the others would react if she stepped out after fleeing the potions classroom when they started a lesson on wolfsbane. She didn't like it, but she was just too weak and she mentally promised herself to steel her guts the next time they started that lesson again. Still, she was uncomfortable in her werewolf skin and often times, at nights most often when no one would be awake enough to hear, she'd run the shower water and scrub herself hard and rough until her skin cracked and bled, fully determined to wash the dirty feelings off of her. She never asked to be a werewolf, a feared monster. Sometimes the painful scrubbing reassured her and delighted her even. The pain told her she was still human after all and the blood that spilled and made her sick to her stomach told her she wasn't as bloodthirsty as she thought. Still, she didn't quite feel so human but she made the best of it and worked her way throughout Hogwarts to be respected.
Lost in her train of thought, Venus almost didn't catch the young boy that crossed the lawns outside of the window behind her. For some reason, though, as he was about to walk out of view, she whipped around, the blonde hair catching her eye. Pressing her hands against the glass she recognized him immediately. The new transfer...Her supposed half brother. He seemed to be making his way to the Whomping Willow, though and she was pretty sure he would get hurt, being new and maybe unaware of the dangers of the ancient tree. Venus frowned, ready to turn away from him and let his sheer stupidity be the death of him but her legs and feet seemed to have a different idea.
Venus blinked in surprise as soon as she found herself racing through the corridors of Hogwarts, her legs carrying themselves faster than she thought she could run. She narrowed her eyes, they were faster than she wanted to run, especially to the rescue of her half brother but her mind didn't have any effect on her legs which kept moving no matter how many times she tried to tell herself she'd stop. She moved and weaved through the crowds of students, occasionally pushing them, earning some scowls. She wanted to tell them that she didn't want to be doing this either but her throat burned already, the girl unaccustomed to running so much as she never really needed to and when did the corridors get so long?
Venus sighed as her legs finally slowed once she set her feet on the grassy grounds of Hogwarts. They still moved, though and she rolled her eyes. Was it true that stupidity ran through the Greyback families' blood? Once she reached the other blonde haired boy, she became irritated as he seemed to be sitting peacefully in front of the tree, admiring it. He wasn't in danger, and oblivious. Great, all that running for nothing.
"The Whomping Willow, page fifty three of second year textbooks taught in Herbology," Venus recited, her voice nearly patronizing as she repeated the Herbology teacher's words. "Very lethal." She walked slowly over to him, lifting herself onto the rock and scooting away to put a respectable distance between them as she folded her legs in a sitting position, staring not at him but the willow. Venus was sure if she did, she would greet him with an expression of disdain, the girl naturally hated her family on her father's side and tried not to associate herself with them, which was why she did her best to avoid the alpha of the Greybacks. Observing the tree, she wasn't sure what the willow could do to hurt anyone since she had never been informed but it looked pretty damaged, a huge dent in it from the time years ago when Harry Potter crashed a flying car into it. So, perhaps most of the Potters were destructive. Still not looking at him, she spoke. "So I hear you're my brother." It wasn't a question but a statement, her tone bitter. By blood and biology, he technically was but to her, he wasn't, not really. Sure, if he was harmed or amything, she might feel disheartened a bit but otherwise, she didn't feel much fondness for him yet. Venus didn't even know his name. She eyed him warily, finally turning her head to stare at him. Once she did, though, her heart constricted painfully. His hair was a sandy blonde and his eyes a sparkling blue. A spitting image of her own mother. She frowned, remembering the many nights and days she spent alone. Suddenly, the irrational thought of him leaving her just like her mother raced through her mind. You don't know him, you don't care about him, so why would you be bothered if he abandoned you like mum? She asked herself mentally but that didn't change the fact that her heart burned and her chest hurt. He reminded her too much of her mother and she didn't like it. She opened her mouth, certain if she didn't speak, she might suffocate. "I'm Venus Greyback," She finally concluded, worried about two things: one, if he didn't understand her and two if he would hate her or like her. She was torn and she didn't know why. She knew she didn't want him to like her because then she couldn't help herself but to care for him but then she wanted him to like her because she was his sister and maybe after everything that happened to her, she owed it to the world, humanity to actually care for someone. This scared her, though. The only person she should care about was herself, for her own good. She observed his eyes, looking for signs of anything, recognition, hate, relief, confusion? words 1, 224 tagged demetrius leopold greyback / holly notes Sorry, Holly, I couldn't post this yesterday due to coming back to my house at ten from Hershey Park but I do hope this is enough for you to go off of.[/blockquote]

Demetrius quietly sat there watching the tree it was swinging around like crazy and Deme believed that it might have been feeling his frustration. The blonde hair boy was torn away from his home, thrown in a pub to live and then tossed into school. He was grateful that the inn keeper promised to look after his dog while he was at school and Deme really hoped he could get someone to sign his slip so he could go down there on weekends to see his pet. He wasn’t one for breaking rules so for now he would wait and see what he could do. He hated his so called father and wished he was never found by the man. Suddenly there was a girl and she was saying something but he didn’t really understand. He figured out a few words like page, taught and Herbology but for everything else he was lost.
He tilted his head as he listened to her wondering if she knew he really couldn’t understand her. He felt it would be rude if he interrupted her so he waited for now. He got even more confused as she sat next to him he didn’t understand why she would care about him or why she felt the need to sit on his rock. Shaking his head he slowly got up and moved to sit on the ground giving her the whole rock. This gave him more personal space and it could have really been her rock he was sitting on. Looking at the ground awkwardly his head snapped up when he heard the only words he understood. Sighing he shook a little a sister? Really he had a sister. He was not told this and the tone she used it was like he should have. Taking a breath he looked at her confused like really confused. “I don’t know…” he struggled to say in english with his thick Russian ascent shining through. He wasn’t lying either he really didn’t know.
Demetrius was getting really confused and overwhelmed everything was all new to him, new school, new last name and now new siblings. On top of everything his english was not that good so how was he to talk to her? Did he want to talk to her? After all everyone he gets close to dies so does he really want to risk that? His hands started to shake as his mind really thought about everything finally after what seemed like forever he opened his mouth only to close it again. Anyone could clearly see he was battling himself and it was hurting him. Finally he looked at her and sighed.
“I’m Demetrius.. and I gues..s my last na..me name is Greyback.” his ascent was thick and he had to stop and sound out a couple of words but he was proud he at least got that sentence out. He didn’t know if he had to add more but maybe her should try. “I wasn’t to..ld told about fam.ily.” Deme could only hope she understood him and didn’t laugh because he had to sound out some words.

Venus wasn't sure what she expected when she suddenly showered the younger boy in this overwhelming information. She wasn't sure if he could even understand her. She wasn't sure of anything. Yet, his reaction was something that she anticipated, maybe unconsciously. The girl almost felt sorry for him, and for a moment, her hand and fingers tingled, itching to reach out and do something to help him. Anything that could help him, she yearned to do, but she held back, now eyeing him warily like he was a ticking bomb. In some ways, he was, the werewolves were known for being aggressive and moody but he seemed so...Innocent, fragile. Venus knew she'd be sad when his naive innocence would be destroyed. She had warned herself not to care for him but he was different from the other greybacks...she could tell he was sweet and a swelling protectiveness rose inside her and bubbled to the brim. She tried to tell herself to calm down though. Relax, you hardly know him. Just because he's your brother doesn't make hims some sort of god, she mentally scolded herself.
The feelings were almost as overwhelming to her as they were to him, to the point where she was almost glad he hopped off the rock from his place next to her to the ground. Albeit, both feeling different emotions. Venus struggled with her growing care for him, trying to press it down firmly and ignore the sense of loneliness that she now felt as he sat away from her. Though, that was to be expected, she just fed him the crazy news that he was a greyback and she was his sister. Watching him, though, there was a different kind of uncertainty and anxiety in his eyes, one that faced her with immediate wariness.
The look in his eyes made her arms move as if they were possessed, like her legs earlier and she desperately wanted to scream, damn you! in his face as much as she wanted to kneel down and hug his small, shaking frame. She now sat before him with her arms up and palms flat forward. His eyes bore into her with a look of wariness and she felt the need to show him she wasn't going to hurt him. She surrendered. Oh gosh, though, why did he have to remind her so much of herself when she was young? Alone, scared, and desperately holding on yet with the face of her evil, evil, mother? Should she hate him or take him under her wing? Both options seemed so appealing and she momentarily considered each.
And then she heard his voice and she almost fell off the rock in surprise. She hadn't expected him to be russian, maybe american, though. He looked american, she'd figured he had transferred from Salem but apparently not. She struggled to force down the sneer that was slowly working it's way onto her lips. For the first time in a long while, she thought of her behavior as disgusting. How could she look down at such an innocent person - someone of her blood with disdain? She felt immensely guilty. Yet, there she was, frowning at him.
Oh god, did he not know english? This was going to be hard, she briefly wondered if she could just write in the dirt beneath her, then she wondered if it would be easier to just walk away and resume her normal lifestyle. She was killing herself over this boy and she was afraid if she stayed any longer, her emotions might overload or something. She wasn't accustomed to actually caring for someone, feeling protective of them. It was new and perhaps one of the scariest things she'd ever faced.
Venus nodded quietly, trying to show him she would be patient and hear out his words that were struggling to be said and she truly was. For once, she wasn't tuning everyone out but sitting there with furrowed eyebrows and alert ears. Ah, so his name was Demetrius. It didn't particularly sound russian but she wasn't exactly familiar with russians anyway. She didn't laugh, though, or berate him like she might have if he wasn't her kin or if he didn't look like the terrible, despicable thing, that she regretfully called a mother, or if he didn't act so damn like her. It was almost as if he was born to make her reconsider her thoughts on family and people in general. Yuck.
Venus cleared her throat slightly, frowning even deeper as she tried to remember the spell she had in mind. Nodding to herself, she pulled her wand from her robes so she could point it at the whomping willow. Whispering under her breath, she watched as the words engraved themselves onto the ancient tree. This must be a lot for you to take in, I'm sorry, the words read and they were true. She was sorry but she wasn't sure if he could read english either...
Maybe he was learning english and had all his textbooks translated to russian or something. She looked at him again, and let the frown disappear. Although she didn't smile, she was sure something other than a sneer or a smile was more welcoming towards him. She pointed her wand at the tree again and more words appeared:
It will get better, though. It always does She promised him. It did, that much was true but that didn't mean it was always going to be great and happy. She sighed, and tried to steel herself into hating him. She couldn't get all soft on someone such as a half sibling now, just when she built up a good, hard, persona for herself. She sighed and and fiddled with her wand. words 965 tagged demetrius leopold greyback / holly notes I feel like I just wrote a bunch of crap. Sorry...Anyways, as you can see, Venus doesn't take well to positive emotions, lol credits To Melanie![/blockquote]
