You don't know you're beautiful:

Tall at 6 feet, he's really rather skinny and lanky. He has this uncanny ability to look extremely uncomfortable in his own skin most of the time. His brown hair is always somewhat messy, since he nervously runs his hair through it when talking to people. He has dark brown eyes, matching his hair, and isn't as pale as most people in Britain, since his father is American. Full lips with a strong jaw, he is rather handsome, but doesn't think so at all. He is very insecure, and it shows in the way he hides behind his glasses and wears mostly jeans and hoodies and sneakers. He's also got a few scars on his arms, chest and back, sustained from his abusive father.

What makes me unique,

Ethan is best friends with James Potter and Benjamin Dearborn, and based on personality alone; one would never have guessed it. He is the sane and reasonable one of the three, and is always the voice of reason whenever James and Ben go a bit crazy. When they plan their practical jokes and things, Ethan doesn't particularly approve of it, but doesn't stop it either. Thank god that stopped. All in all, Ethan is definitely the more mature one of the group, and even got the position of Prefect in his fifth year, and went on to become Head Boy.

He is intelligent, calm, tolerant, fair-minded, brave, kind and good-natured. Despite his rough childhood, he managed to retain the ability to see the good in almost everybody and is extremely forgiving. It makes him a very good Head Boy, and is probably why he got the position, as well as the fact that he is one of the smartest people in his year. He also has an excellent sense of humour, which he only really shows around people he's comfortable with.

It's not uncommon to see him in the corner of the library, hoody over his head, legs crossed, completely engrossed in a book. Also, unlike his friends, he was able to, or at least would try to maintain civil conversation with those he did not get along well with. Quite perceptive, with an uncanny ability to guess the thoughts of those around him. Especially his two best friends, and can just SEE when they're plotting and up to no good. He always wants to help people, though, and will, sometimes if he's feeling brave, stand up for the downtrodden, especially since being made Head Boy. He also loves drawing and is rather good at it; mostly draws people.

Living the teenage dream,

Ethan Lawrence Johnson was born on the 18th of September, 2005, to American wizard, Silius, and English witch, Emily in Tennessee, USA. When he was very young, they moved back to London, England because his father got a better job. Ethan was always much closer to his stay-at-home mom, and has always loved her dearly. His father, on the other hand, was always very abusive with them both. He was always so worried when he went off to Hogwarts, almost scared to leave him alone with her. Not that he could do much to help. When he was almost 14, he had finally stood up to him, only for his father to turn from hitting his mother, to hitting him. He still thinks it's worth it; as long as his mother wasn't the main victim. He sustained a few scars, one of the worst a knife wound on his arm and a few on his back. He never mentioned this at all. Not even James and Ben know.

When he was went home for the summer before his sixth year, he wasn't there any more. He was so, so extremely happy, and hugged his mother for almost thirty minutes straight. What had happened was that she had found out she was pregnant, and didn't want to put yet another child through what Ethan had to endure, and finally kicked him out with the help of some law-enforcing wizards.

As for his years at Hogwarts; Ethan was sorted into Gryffindor and kept to himself most of the time, concentrating on homework and generally just keeping out of everything. He was roommates with James and Ben, and after a while, finally said something about their trouble-making. It seems they liked it, since they didn't mind him hanging around them to keep an eye on them. Well, at first. He had actually grown quite fond of the pair of them and started hanging around with them because he quite wanted to. Ever since, they had been thick as thieves. Honestly? He had even been the brains behind a few of their pranks. Shhh.
