Kaila is fairly tall for a female, standing at about 5'9'', and weighs in somewhere around 120 pounds. Her body is quite long and lean, but not in a way that makes her appear weak. Anyone who looks at her for long enough can clearly see the lean muscles that cover her body and give her a well toned appearance. Her posture is typically quite proper as she prefers to walk with her back straight and her head held high.

The first thing many people notice about her are her eyes; they are a light, haunting green-grey that sharply contrast the dark lashes that fringe them. Her eyes are fairly large and almond in shape and she often wears makeup around them to make them stand out even more. What many people would notice next are her lips; they are fairly thin and upturned just ever so slightly at the edges. Typically she wears a smirk on them, which is one reason why they are so noticeable.

Kaila's favourite of her features would probably have to be her hair. Her hair is long, falls halfway down her back, and is such a dark shade of brown it almost appear black. Usually, she likes to wear her hair tied back in a loose, messy ponytail or bun, but she has been known to let it down from time to time.

Kaila has a fondness for tattoos so, despite her young age, she has already gotten several herself. They are a triquetra on her left wrist, a serpentine dragon on her back, and a treble clef on her right hip.

What make me unique;

Kaila has always been a person whose exact personality is quite difficult to pin down. Certain aspects of her character will always remain the same, yet most seem to vary with her mood and the day. She is the type of person who could be seen one day picking fights for almost no reason and the next volunteering in a shelter. She takes pleasure in confusing others and keeping everyone on their toes. In her mind, it's always fun to be unpredictable.

Still, there are some traits that she is known well for: primarily her arrogant nature and sharp, and quite often sarcastic, wit. Kaila has a tendency to carry herself with a slight air of superiority and often believes herself to be capable of far more than she truly is. She is quite a prideful person and does not take insults or humiliation well. Anyone who tries to embarrass her is certain to be met with either a stream of ridicule or a fist to the face.

Kaila doesn't typically act in a way that most would describe as being moral. She prefers to just do whatever she wants and whatever she believes is necessary. She is rather cunning for someone so young and has no problems with using her silver tongue to help her achieve her ends. Still, she is not completely devoid of principles. She does try her best to avoid wronging others unless she believes that she has no other choice. However, she has no sympathy for the rich of the world and will often go out of her way to annoy or trouble them.

Usually, Kaila gets along pretty well with most other people. She may come across as a bit severe or harsh at times, but she is still a fairly extroverted and fun-loving person, which is good enough for most people. Yet, she still frequently finds herself making enemies among the religious and law enforcers of the world. They hate her for her hedonistic nature, and she hates them for their self-righteous ways. In all honesty, she couldn't care less about what they think of her. She knows that one cannot be loved universally so, in her mind, there's no point in even trying to change some people's opinions about you.

Despite her social disposition, Kaila really is a bit of a loner. When around other people, she likes to keep her guard up. She sees this as a way of protecting herself, as a way of making sure that she never gets hurt. She has a tendency to be a bit cynical when it comes to personal relationships, so she typically tries her best to avoid them. To her, the brief experience of loving someone is not worth the inevitable pain that comes when the relationship ends. In her mind, it's always best to just avoid the pain altogether.

Living the teenage dream,

Amell. Once upon a time that name meant something. They were a rich, prestigious family known to bring forth some of the witches and wizards the country had ever seen. But such luck could not last forever. A few wrong moves, a few associations with muggles and, before long, the family fell. Their name became nothing more than a disgraceful mark, a bitter reminder of better days.

This, this was the world Kaila was born into. A world full of scorned youth and bitter old men determined to live out their days reminiscing on how prominent their family used to be. Her father, Cassius, was one of the worst of them all. He would do anything he could to bring honour back to their family name. Even his marriage to her mother, Naomi, was just an attempt to bring some amount of dignity back. Kaila's early childhood was filled with her father's attempts to turn her into a 'proper' lady. She spent spent most of her youth learning how to sit, to talk, to walk properly and how to interact with her betters. It became clear to her soon enough that her father was just training her to be a good wife to some rich wizard one day. Yet still, it never occurred to her to try and change the way she was being raised. It was how her mother was brought up and how her sister was too; she believed that this lifestyle was simply normal.

The training only grew worse when she was seven, after her mother died from some unknown illness. Now the children had no one but each other to rely on, no one but each other to protect them. Often during this time Kaila would catch herself dreaming about the time when she too would get to go off to Hogwarts. It was this little dream, this little spark of hope, that kept her going even when everything else seemed dark. The letters she received from William became some of her most cherished possessions, and she kept them close to her heart until one day she got a different kind of letter.

Eventually, the day game. She and her twin brother Lucan received their letters and, before she knew it, they were both at Hogwarts. Thankfully, both twins ended up being sorted into Gryffindor. Kaila knew she would be lost without Lucan by her side. Yet, even with him near, she still felt out of place. She felt strange and different, like this wasn't where she truly belonged. After listening to the stories the other students told of their home, Kaila slowly began to realize just what made her different: her upbringing. She was raised to be a wife, a piece of property, not her own individual person. With the help of her brother she began to try to branch out more; to become the person her father had never let her be.

By the time she got home that summer, she had changed completely. She was tougher, stronger, and had a new-found attitude. Though she knew she still had to follow her father's rules, she no longer followed blindly as she had all the years before. As each year went by, she began to rebel more and more, yet never did enough to make her father renounce her. Then, on her sixteenth summer, everything changed. She had known for years that Alina had been having difficulties with their home life and other students at school, but still she never suspected that her sister had been in nearly as much pain as she was. She had never seen it coming. On the summer night them Amells received their letters from Hogwarts, her sister Alina committed suicide. Kaila ran away after the funeral. She couldn't bear to live in that place any longer.

After several days of wandering, she got on the Knight Bus and went to Diagon Alley. Once there, she took a room in the Leaky Cauldron, where she planned to stay until school started again. There were enough other students from Hogwarts to keep her sudden appearance from raising any suspicions, and she had enough money saved up to pay for her room and supplies for that year. She was safe, at least for then. Though she knew that she would be in trouble come the next summer. On the train Lucan found her, and she was forced to tell him that she would not be going home that summer. She still had no idea what she was going to do, but she knew that she would be able to figure it out with her brother there.
