No, Albus did not want to conform to going to this Snow Ball event. It was just another teenage social gathering he would like to completely wipe off his calendar. One he had no date, two he didn't know what to wear and three, he couldn't dance. Why go to a ball if you couldn't dance? Albus understood the slow dancing part but during a fast song he would make a fool of himself. It would be extremely embarrassing and he didn't want to hear about it for months after. Albus never knew why he was so pessimistic when it came to being involved with a group event, he just was. Then there was friends like Clara and Lucy whom wanted him to take part in such vulgarity. Albus sighed, it was night he could hear the talk in the common room, the laughter and everyone staying how good one another looked. He guess he'd just wait til it was empty to even start getting ready.
Albus was doing extra credit work, not that he needed it or anything it was just his view of fun. Al wondered if Ben would be at the Snow ball, then he giggled to himself shaking his head. It seemed very likely, and he wondered if he'd get jealous at all. Albus looked at the his stop watch as it read seven thirty. A smirk crossed his lips and right as he felt procrastinating was his best bet he looked at the levitating howler as it shouted at him to get ready in his mother's tone. Albus blinked, his eyes were wide as he closed his book and the letter exploded. If he knew what was best for him he'd get ready. Letting a sigh escape his lips he forced himself from his desk going through his wardrobe, pulling out his dress robes. They were dark grey in color and he had to wear a bow tie. Brilliant. Albus never thought he'd have to wear this but he thought wrong apparently. The boy got dressed and looked himself over in the mirror adding some gel to his hair and what not.
This was so unlike him, he exited the dormitory and made his way out of the tower. The halls were somewhat empty as he could hear the music coming from the Great Hall. Lovely, he thought sarcastically walking to the Grand stair case and making his way down the levels. Merlin, why was his mother so insistent on getting him to go the this formal event, it wasn't like he was being graded on it so there was no point of it in his mind. Albus was high unamused as he got to the Great entrance and he looked at all the colored lights coming from the Great Hall. The music wasn't way too loud, however it was catchy. Albus took in a big breath and walked into the Great hall going to the punch table and getting himself a drink. He stood there awkwardly looking around seeing a few familiar faces but he wouldn't approach. Not just yet.

She was dismal in the thought of attending such an event but she had no choice her mother had found her a cute and inexpensive outfit for the event so Lucy had to oblige and respect her mother's gesture. She was in the great hall, chatting with a few of the other hufflepuff girls and listening to the music. Her eyes flitting from the girls she conversed with to the dancefloor every so often, boy how she wished she had a boy to dance with her, a cute boy, a boyfriend? No...her studies were important, her school education and her cousins were all she needed right? Wrong. Her mind was drifting in and out of day dreams, imagining herself being whisped along the dance floor by someone as cute and handsome as Romeo Montague or Alix Longbottom...someone sweet, someone who wouldn't find her to be strange. She sighed out when she realized one of the girls was nudging her and she glanced to her, the girl was pointing out her cousin at the punch table and a mischievous smirk toyed on Lucy's pink lips,"Excuse me ladies, I have some business to attend to" she said scotching away from the harpies behind her now. She knew her cousin was much too popular with some of the sweetest gals and guys in the school, so she knew he must not have come all by his lonesome, surely he had someone who he took and danced with right? She slipped up beside him and she acted as though she were looking over the treats until she finally broke the silence when she noticed he didn't seem to notice she was beside him,""ey! Albykins!" she chirped up wondering if he'd spill his punch at her sudden high pitched voice. She grinned and giggled as she looked up at him with wide doe like eyes and she rocked back and fourth on her heels, toying with the bottom of her dress,"Surely my most favorite cousin must have a date, so do tell, who is she....or who is he?" she asked nudging him playfully and eagerly,"C'mon c'mon, you holding out on me? DO tell me all the juicy details Albus, we haven't spoken in days there must be something new you've yet to tell me" she urged.

Albus sipped his punch and looked around the room at the dancing teens, he smiled to himself. It wouldn't be so bad if he actually was here with someone he liked. Well, of course he had family and friends here but it was odd catching the snogging couples in the dark corners. Perhaps someday he and Ben could be public, Albus thought of how romantic it was. Although he was totally into his studies and absorbed in his grades he was going to be like those boys in the romance novels he obsessed over. Knowledge was power but love, was a requirement as well. Al had made up his mind on that matter, back in fourth year. It wasn't changing anytime soon. The sound of a high pitched voice caused him to jump but he avoiding spilling his punch as he turned and glared at Lucy. "Are you trying to make me deaf?" He asked using his free hand to rub his ear. He looked Lucy over and he smiled. "You look very pretty Lu." Albus complimented looking at the small barrette in her hair, it matched her dress nicely. Tonight was just starting to become eventful, and with his cousin there he felt less nervous.
Albus took a sip of his drink and listened to Lucy talk. A date? He wished. "No Lucy, I have come down here alone, Mum sent me up a howler and wouldn't be satisfied unless I attended this ball. My presence was mandatory." Albus explained with no lie to his statement. If he had it his way he would have spend the whole night in the tower studying. Albus listened to her further her urging and he smirked and bit his bottom lip. "Well lets just say it's not public but it's official." Albus hinted leaning toward her ear. "I, Albus Potter, skipped school the other day and went on a little date. I'm not telling you with who because I can't but I can tell you it was amazing." Albus whispered standing back normally. He knew she wouldn't be fully be satisfied with his answer but at least he fed into her prying a bit. Ben would be very upset if his loud mouth cousin came up to him threatening him. Al could see it now, Lu in a state of protectiveness telling Ben she'd hurt him if he made on mistake or hurt little 'Alby-kins' in any way shape or form. It was rather funny to him. "So where's your date Lucy? Did you scare off another one?" Albus asked with a chuckle, turning the question back her way.

Lucy couldn't help but chuckle slightly seeing she had surprised her cousin by her loud pitchy voice. She chuckled and grinned when he complimented her saying she looked pretty."You look nice too Alby, now tell me where you're hiding your date!" she said as she playfully looked behind him as if someone were hiding behind him and then she peeked under the table before looking up at him. No date? Since when was that ok... She pouted slightly and gave him a wide eyed look, though it wasn't all to surprising, Albus wasn't one to have some floozy on his arm like James would. "How sad, well then that means we must dance at least once tonight" she said giving a cheeky grin but when he decided to beat around the bush giving her no details to who he was now seeing, a secret? Oh boy...Lucy knew she would have to pry at him for answers. She took a glass of punch taking a long drink of it before she turned to face him and a smirk crossed her lips, he couldn't escape if she dragged him out onto the dance floor right now. She put down her glass and she grabbed him by the hand as a new song started playing,"Oh I love this song," she said though honestly she had no clue what the song was, she was just getting him out onto the floor. She dragged him into the dead middle so that if he tried to leave her side he'd have much difficulty doing so. She grinned and she twirled before she dance along side him and she got close enough so he could hear her over the deafening music,"Secretly dating? Albykins how is that even appropriate? What are they? Embarrassed of you or something?" she asked raising an eyebrow,"I'll beat em up if that's the case, nobody should hide their relationship with my cousin like that, you're so amazing, they should want to be screaming out their love for you on rooftops" she said grinning, sweet talk Albus, make him see that secrets were always shady, that was how someone found out information, especially since she knew him all too well. "And no I did not scare off any one for your information, I just decided last minute to come so I have no date due to my horrible timing" she explained.
