All things consider Lysander was a child. He was a rather tall and old child at sixteen but he was still a child none the less. A man child some might say because in his brain, despite being sixteen, he was still five years old. This meant that the news of fireworks excited him far more than it should have and probably more than it excited anyone else. Lys like fireworks. He liked the colors, how they sparkled and lingered, and most of all he liked just how loud they were. They were like he was. All noise and bluster making the imagination spark and flicker. At least he’d like to think that he caused people to think in a more creative positive light. On the other hand people probably thought he was out of his bloody mind. Lys didn’t mind though especially since these days he kept on thinking that he honestly was. The evidence was there though with an alarming rate.
Sure his mom had been a bit wonky but it had turned out that in the end she had been right, for the most part. Granted Crumpled Horned Snorkacks didn’t exist or at least not that he had seen anyway. That was his job now, wasn’t it? Lys wasn’t bothered by the legacy his mother had left and quite frankly he loved it. It played to what turned out to be his strengths. Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures were the only two areas in which Lys really excelled. He was decent at Charms and that lot but really it wasn’t like he was much to brag about. The only downfall of this year had been that because of this he was carrying so little in the course load area. Lysander had so much free time on his hand that he didn’t know what to do with himself.
Four classes. Four classes was all that Lys had to fill his time with and quite frankly it just wasn’t enough. Sure they were tougher than their old classes but it still left a lot of free time that Lysander didn’t know what to do with. He wasn’t the type to just sit around and do nothing. He needed things, to be out in the world, and just generally experiencing life. Otherwise what was the point of it? Lys never understood how people could just sit around and do nothing. It was mind boggling to Lysander. Stretching the boy stared out the window and watched as the light began to fade from the sky. It’d be dark soon and that was when he was going to head down. Sure he might beat people there but Lys didn’t care about being the first one at a party. If anything Lysander preferred it. It gave him more than an ample amount of time to talk to everyone that showed up.
Lysander dressed lightly despite the cold. He could really care less about the cold as it seemed that for whatever reason he was just naturally warm. Pulling the shirt over his head and wrapping the cardigan around his body Lysander wrapped a scarf tightly around his neck. This was all he really needed to go out. Shoving his hand into his pockets Lys kept his head down as he made his way out towards the site where the fireworks would occur. Normally Lys would be the chatty person in Hogwarts but he just wanted to get outside. The sooner he got outside the sooner he’d see more people and the sooner he did that the sooner he’d be seeing firworks light up the sky. He couldn’t bloody wait.
Lorcan had gone home for the holiday which was why Lys was here. Whether or not he had volunteered to come back for the display was beyond him. Lys didn’t care. He had decided to give Lore the space he so desperately desired. He loved his twin and didn’t want to lose him and if that meant backing off for a while then he would do it. Still how long was enough? Lore refused to tell him what was going on in his head to Lys’ face and it just made things more and more confusing for him. He’d figure it out one day he guessed. Right now it was taking everything he had not to look up and talk to someone or break out in a full sprint towards the door so that he could get out on the grounds even quicker. The large fire was burning away and he could see it from here. Sure they had an area inside but as he grabbed something to drink he frankly didn’t care for it. There were people out here and that was all he really needed was someone around to talk to so he searched the crowd slowly but surely looking for someone to strike up a conversation with. tagged!OPEN! lyrics Say Anything, Yellow Cat/Red Cat. notes Open to anyone!
