let your colours burst (OPEN)

Fireworks had always entranced her, ever since she’d been a child. Wide eyes filled with wonder would always stare engrossed in the giant spectacle above her, since her first fifth of November she’d fallen in love with the sparkles and the smell. New Years Eve wasn’t any different and while she would have loved to of spent it with her parents she promised herself she wouldn’t miss her last chance of a New Years Eve at Hogwarts.

Her favourite scarf was wrapped tightly around her neck while her thickest jumper cuddled her body keeping out the dangerous frost that had sprinkled the walls and the grounds of the castle. On her legs a handy pair of black thermal tights sat under a pleated skater skirt. She couldn’t wait for it to begin; even if her friends weren’t there she could still enjoy it, taking out her camera she prepped it ready for the first firework to light up the sky.

Fireworks have been a recent favorite of Timothy's. As a child, the loud noises frightened him and his mother would force him to stay inside the inn. Being in Hogwarts, he slowly would get used to the fireworks, having them being frequent used during Quidditch games and whatnot. New Years Eve wasn't such a big event for Timothy, he didn't get as excited as the men at the inn did when they were drunk and sometimes sober.

Timothy walked around the grounds, trying to find someone - anyone that he may know. The young man knew a reasonable amount of people, many being his half-siblings, but nonetheless, there were a reasonable group of people he knew. Having walked past several people he couldn't recognize, Timothy spotted someone he recognized from class. "Hey, you're in my class right?" He stood next to the brunette and grinned. "I'm bad with names... what was it again?" She sure didn't look like one of his sisters, he was sure of that. He didn't recognize her from the Slytherin common room, so maybe not Slytherin. The name would not come to his mind.

Turning the camera over in her hands she checked pried open the film cartridge and hooked the black shiny film inside. For once she wished muggle technology worked at Hogwarts, she hated using the old wizarding cameras, they were just far to fiddly and if you didn’t put everything in just right you’d ruin all your photographs. Molly would know, there were hundreds of over exposed black and whites, or blurry images she’d discarded after development. She tapped her wand against the camera smiling as the golden sparks swam across the surface before fixing themselves inside bringing it to life.

A voice tore her away from the contraption and as she looked up she smiled warmly at the person before her. She recognized him, she was sure he was in her class though she’d never really spoken to him before. For a split second she tried her best to remember his name, gosh what was it – Tommy, that sounded familiar but she was sure it wasn’t right, Terence – Timothy, that was it! Timothy, she was sure of it.
“Oh yeah, transfiguration right?” said Molly, who was sure she’d spotted him in the class before. “Oh my names Molly,” she chimed holding a hand out for him to shake, "nice to meet you, properly."
“So, the fireworks should be cool,” began Molly, “I’ve never seen them at Hogwarts before." she admitted sheepishly.
Needless to say her expectations were pretty high.
"But I've heard there brilliant.” She smiled.
