It had been the perfect time to catch up with her best friend and share the Hogsmeade weekend together. Annabelle couldn't help to think. It had been a while since the two spent some friendly bonding time and that was just unacceptable. They were way to close to not be hanging out all the time, but on the bright side there would be loads of things to talk about. Annabelle had sent an owl to Jack yesterday explaining she would meet him in the entrance hall in the morning. The two could spend the day together and have some real fun. It would be amazing although she did also loved going to Hogsmeade during winter time. Everyone seemed more enthused and happy after the holiday season. Anna loved creating memories with her best friend and today she would do just that.
The thought forced her out of bed and she got up looking out the window. It was a dark emerald green color, murky even. Icky she thought crawling to the bottom of her bed. She would have enjoyed sleeping in but she didn't feel the rest necessary. It was time for fun and she couldn't have chosen a better partner in crime to spend her day with. Annabelle shifted the clothes around in her trunk. "What to wear? What to wear?" she mumbled out loud. Then she came across a pair of black skinny jeans and a blue sweater. "Perfect." she claimed tossing them on the bed. Accessories and some heels later and she was ready to get dressed. Annabelle quickly got dressed checking the alarm clock by her bed. If it wasn't for that thing she'd be late for her morning classes. It would not be proper for a prefect to do such a thing as being late. Anna chuckled to herself it wouldn't be the first time she got placed in detention. Most of the time it was more for her smart remarks to her teachers.
Anna could remember the first time she met Jack, she thought he was very nice. Who knew the two would come great friends? First year she felt welcomed and even with him being a year older things just seemed to flow right. Whenever one had a problem they could trust one another to talk things out. On loyal standing til this current day. Over the years she developed a small crush on him but she would never tell Jack. It would make things awkward she feared even if she was openly flirty with him. It just never went past that, she'd be too scared to lose him all together.
After getting dressed she grabbed her scarf and jacket, leaving the dorm making her way to the common room. She couldn't be late so she would skip her normal rounds at gossiping with her friends, and made her way out of the dungeon. Her heels clicking on the floor beneath her caused her to smirk to herself. Once at the entrance hall she spotted Jack and she walked up to her friend covering his eyes from behind. "Guess who handsome." She said loud spinning him around into a hug. Now the day was going to be perfect. Anna slipped her hand into Jack's and leading him out of the castle and to the passage way that would lead them to the village. It was time talk she could barely control her excitement. "Jacky boy, so tell me something new. What have you been up to recently?" Anna asked attempting to learn his where abouts these days. The wind blew a lock of her hair a bit and she pushed it behind her ear with her free hand. Anna could already tell it was going to be a flawless afternoon. Jackson awoke and stared at the clock next to his bed for a moment. This always happened, he stared as the second hand slowly made its way around the circle and he realized that it would ring in four minutes if he didn't shut the thing off. Normally he would have not set an alarm preferring to have slept in on a weekend, he was usually up late every night whether by choice or not. Being the Head Boy he had to make sure the Prefects were doing what they were supposed, that he was doing what he was supposed to and that everybody was kept in line. However, on his free nights he would often just stay awake and stare at the ceiling or attempt to read and rid his brain of these excessive thoughts that troubled him or just occupied brain power and space. His arm reached out from under the covers and turned off the alarm before it had a chance to awake the rest of his dorm. Jack sat up, rubbed his eyes and swung his legs over the edge of the bed, it was much colder now without the heavy blankets to keep him safe. Still he always kept his appointments and he had one this morning with a good friend. Somehow life, school and Prefect duties had taken up so much of their time that he hadn't had a chance to see her in a while and it was bad for his health because Merlin knew he didn't speak so openly to anybody else except his sister and even with her he didn't divulge too many details because, well, that was his sister and there were some things she was better off not knowing.
Dressing, he chose simple pair of jeans, his chucks and a button up shirt that he could roll up the sleeves if he so chose to. Gray, the color helped bring out his eyes as much as his hair and skin did, the bright blue orbs still looked tired as he hadn't slept more than a few hours. She would notice of course and he would probably just blame it on homework and his duties along with Quidditch practice. Jack spend the better part of ten minutes trying to find his jacket, at least one with a hoodie and cursed himself for not being more organized as it was underneath a mountain of books and parchment and the like. Glancing at the clock again he saw he still had some time and figured he would wait for her at the hall as to be ahead of the coming crowds of students also visiting the town this weekend. Really one of the few reasons he would ever visit was when his sister wanted to visit or when Annabelle wanted to and dragged his lazy ass out there. His hands slid into the pockets of his jeans as his sneakers barely made a noise against the cold floors of the dungeons, it was hardly homey and welcoming but it was his home at least for the rest of this school year and then after that he really had no idea what he was going to do. In the back of his mind he had settled on working for the Ministry, so his NEWTS had been focused on that which gave him a pretty broad range.
Early, thank goodness or he would have never forgave himself. Though Jack had hardly been there more than ten minutes, nodding at various students walking past and acknowledging, saying an occasional 'Good Morning' to a professor or friend. His vision suddenly went dark and instinctively his hands flew up to whatever was in front of his eyes and his breath caught in his throat until he heard a voice and then calmed. A stalker? He grinned and gave her a hug, it had been too long and really he could recognize her if he had given her a hug blind-folded and she always smelled good as well, which he appreciated. While Jack himself was outgoing and happy externally she was more bubbly than he could have ever been, though he remembered first meeting her when she hardly said a word her first two weeks here at Hogwarts and he befriended the young girl in the Common Room having been acquainted with her older brother in his own year. Grabbing his had he followed obediently, and it reminded him of the teasing he had endured for sometime about their friendship and what it really was. It was just friends, and he didn't mind that she was female, sometimes he needed that opinion. Nothing really, studying for NEWTS and Quidditch and doing Head Boy stuff. Yourself? Where have you been hiding?
